A friend recommended me the place, and I am glad I listened. They are not like all the computer service/repair shops I have ever been to--tiny cramped rooms with dirty white walls where grim rude technicians barely talk to you, and even if they do, they bombard you with geeky terms you are clearly not supposed to understand, and expect you to agree with everything and just sign a credit card slip.
Citadel NY has an elegant yet cozy office, decorated with beautiful artwork; people are friendly and polite.
After inspecting my 7-year-old 27" iMac, which just wouldn't turn on one of those days, they presented me with several options, clearly explaining what they are without even a shadow of condescendence.
Sadly, there were too many things gone bad with my computer, that repairing it would not make any sense because the final bill would amount to almost a price of an entry-level, but a brand-new system. They suggested to me to keep the hard drive--the only thing which was still working--and mount it in a stand-alone enclosure as an external drive and gave me recommendations on what is compatible.
I now have all my data intact at a fraction of a price of repairing the thing and could not be any more happy with that.
Even though Citadel NY mostly works with companies, managing their IT needs, I would recommend this place to anyone who needs expert help. read more
