When I dined here, it was a busy Wednesday evening before Thanksgiving, it was packed. It did take quite a bit for dinner to hit the table, but the wait staff were very attentive which was rather impressive. I have the trio of fish tacos and my favorite would have to be between the grilled fish or beer battered taco. The sauce was rather strong and the tortilla for the shrimp taco was falling apart on me, but you can't go wrong with getting the fried ice cream for dessert. Overall, I would come back here the next time I'm in town. read more

Service is terrible - even more so if you are in the bar area and not a "regular". Don't waste your time.

We absolutely love coming to Cisco's, and a huge part of that is because of Emma! She's hands-down one of the best waitresses -- always so friendly, attentive, and genuinely makes every visit special. It's such a treat to see her familiar smile every time we come in. She's the reason we keep coming back! read more

Love going to Ciscos especially when there's a sporting event on. The burritos are awesome and my favorite is the chicken chimichanga. However, if it weren't for the server Emma, we probably would explore other restaurants. She is so professional and personable that she is part of the reason, in fact a main reason, we return. read more

Terrible service! Went in for Happy Hour and waited 15 minutes for a waitress. Finally got her attention & asked about getting something off the Happy Hour menu which she informed us was over. Tried to explain we had been waiting to be served. Mind you it's now a few minutes after six. We're told we will need to order off the regular menu?? I ask to speak to the manager and he basically says the same thing. I try to explain but we get nowhere. It's very sad to think one bad experience ruins years of going here. The waitress waiting on us had an attitude from the get go. How hard would it have been to still honor the Happy Hour prices? She did get her way and it cost Cisco's two long time customers. read more

Cisco's is my every Friday lunch along with two margaritas. The bar tender Tanya is amazing!!! The drinks the best and service is outstanding!! I love you guys! There's a Latino guy that serves my salsa and chips and this guys is so friendly, I feel like his my relative. Shakes my hand, serves my chips and salsa with a smile. I cannot say enough about this place . The guys name is Bernabé. Love you guys!! When I retire I asked Tanya to reserve a chair for me at the bar with all the other old farts. Hahaha!! read more

Would have been 5 stars as usual but they changed up their Twilight special that they have had for years. They removed several food items and changed the discount from 50% to 25%. Service and food were great as usual still. We have been coming 1x per week for years but now it will be less frequent. Will probably go down to once a month. read more

We always enjoy going to Ciscos on Los Arboles in Thousand Oaks. Dinner is always delicious. We have found it is a great place to enjoy lunch also. The staff from Felix the manager to waiters like Eric and Agie have always given outstanding service along with being fun and engaging! Everyone who works at Ciscos seems to be part of a caring family! I highly recommend this Restraurant whether you want a quiet meal with friends or family or join in the lively music on the patio on weekends! Great place to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries and other success events! read more

Great food and great service. Love this place. Thank you for the great staff and the cooks

I really enjoyed my fish taco, it's pretty standard. Little man had a lobster enchilada. He said it had a good amount of lobster, just wished it would more evenly spread out. The sauce on it was really good, not over powering, but just enough to add a little. I would say the salsa that came with the chips could have been more spicy, but that's just me. Service was very friendly and attentive. read more

Cisco's has become our favorite Friday family dinner spot! Always delicious food, fantastic service and lovely music.

5stars great service great customer service love the experience on this restaurant first time coming, I definitely recommend for any event

Food was cold, server was rude and acted like we were inconveniencing him, food was over-priced! Ambiance was mediocre.

I came here with a friend for lunch we were greeted as soon as we walked thru the door and were seated immediately. It's a little dark indoors but they do offer outdoor seating . We were handed menus and asked if we wanted any drinks . We were given enough time that when our drinks were brought to us we were able to place our orders . There was a large party going on and our waiter was called to assist but he let us know and he sent people to check on us periodically. I never had to request a refill . I ordered a combination platter and it came with rice and beans . I enjoyed it - everything tasted fresh and came hot . There is a large parking lot in-front that has plenty of parking available. There is bar seating and there are televisions scattered throughout the restaurant so that no matter where you sit you have a decent view . They offer catering and take out . It's a Nice place to hold an event and they have live music throughout the month . This place is definitely worth checking out if you're in the Thousand Oaks area and have a taste for some Mexican food . read more

Terrible Service!!!! Been coming here for years, however the service in bar area has progressively dropped. We waited 20 minutes, for service, as waiters walked by without acknowledging us. Finally I flagged someone down who took our initial order, but never returned. Food quality and portions have also gone down. In reading the other comments, Management needs to wake up and save their business! read more

Pleasantly surprised! Read some not so good reviews so we were hesitant to go here for lunch....needless to say we were glad we decided to be the judge! The complimentary chips and salsa were delicious. Chips served warm and salsa fresh with perfect heat. I ordered the Cabo Taco plate which consisted of 3 soft tacos (battered fish, grilled fish and grilled shrimp). All served with cabbage, pickled onions and a yummy sauce. I can still remember Each bite of the tacos...so deliciously mouth watering. My fiancé had the Dos Amigos (2 chicken enchiladas). He devoured his plate! Now it's your turn to be the judge! read more

I always have a great time at Cisco's. The servers are always friendly. The guacamole made table side is a nice treat. The food is good. The restaurant is clean. There a mariachi band that goes around to the tables playing music. I find this a little awkward though because a lady comes and asks you if you want them to play for you and if you say no she always looks super disappointed. Although many people seem to enjoy having them play at their table. read more

This is an update. I have been back a few times since my first review and thought it fair to give better credit where it's due. I don't go to Cisco's for the ambience. The bar is popular, based on it being generally crowded when I pass by. I don't go in. Most importantly to me, it's a great value. That is, if you go during the twilight hours and order from the twilight menu. The food is good (though not to be mistaken for high end Mexican) and the service is almost always good and the staff attentive. Edgar was my wait person most recently and dealing with him was a pleasure. I will go back soon. read more

I usually work Sunday mornings so no brunch for us. However this Sunday I unexpectedly got the day off. O know my wife is a fan of brunch so I figured let's give it a try. We decided on Cisco's and it was perfect. Lots of parking, in a private lot. We were greeted immediately and were seated promptly. We all decided on the brunch buffet. My wife and son did a mimosa and I opted for a margarita. The buffet has several stations located though out the dining room. Soup of the day and peel and eat shrimp with smoked salmon tomatoes and capers. An omelette station with waffles. Chili rellenos,,breakfast burritos, hash browns, huevos rancheros, bacon, sausage, eggs Benedict, carnitas, chili verde, chili Colorado. Then a whole station of desserts and bagels with cream cheese. I started with the menudo. Diced onion, diced jalapeños and cilantro on the side along with oregano and lemon wedges. It broth was flavorful. The tripe and hominy were cooked well. No pigs feet but overall a solid dish. The next pass I hit up the Chili verde, Chili Colorado, carnitas and sausage and bacon. The meats were all tender the sauces were flavorful, the sausages were huge and had great flavor. The bacon was crispy. I finished with a couple of bite size desserts. The flan and churro were the highlights. Overall the food was as good. What put this place over the top was the service. William our server explained all the stations, the mimosa glasses were never empty, the entire staff did a great job of constantly filling glass with water and sparkling. We all had a good time. read more

Great service and atmosphere! My family and I love to walk to this restaurant. It is decorated well enough to feel like a slightly fancy restaurant but still overwhelmingly feels homey and familiar. I always get a shredded beef taco and cheese enchilada for ten bucks. Decent Mexican food among friendly staff. A great place to go out with family if you want to go out, but don't want something very fancy. Guaranteed to lead to good conversation too! read more

Ok so I came to ciscos for the day to treat my kiddos and have a good day with my buddy and my wife after a long week. This dude Erick was perfect with his service! Like stupid perfect! He kept us on point with drink and food orders. Even as little as asking upon order requesting ranch it came with the food which for me is rare. Normally need to ask again while your food gets colder and colder waiting for it. Anyhow, that dude deserves great tips, he earns them. read more

The best Mexican food in Thousand Oaks. Come here with my dad and sister all the time, service and food is amazing and staff is the best!!!

Awesome food and service. Beautiful family. Austin is lucky to have them. Everything is so good, it's hard to choose.

Yummy! The food: I was very impressed with my food this visit! I came for an event which was served with a taco bar. The food was GREAT! It came with with hard and soft shell tacos. The meat included shredded beef, shredded pork, and chicken. The shredded pork was delicious!! The rice and beans were impressive too. They had other yummy toppings and salsa as well. I love their guacamole because they prepare it in front of you at your table! The margaritas here are FANTASTIC too. I had two and I definitely got a good buzz going. I had the peach marg and a strawberry margarita. Both were amazing!! The vibe: a fun and poppin' place! It was pretty busy when we went which was fun and exciting. They have a nice bar area as well as lots of indoor seating and a patio. Will I come back? Definitely! Especially for the margs! *P.S. margarita Monday's are $4.50!!! That's a deal I'll go back for! read more

Ciscos Mexican Restaurant is about as Mexican as you are going to get this side of Thousand Oaks Blvd. and that's not saying much. For what it's worth, You really shouldn't expect super authentic Mexican food in 1000 Oaks and hey, after a few margaritas, does it really matter anyway?? This location is tucked in the corner of the Oakbrook Plaza directly across from Gelsons. It's been here for several years and it even outlasted it's sister location in Westlake Village. We've eaten here on quite a few occasions and the food is always consistent of what you would expect for this type of Mexican Restaurant. Tacos, burritos, enchiladas, nachos, quesadillas and a few regional specialities are the basics and are all served with the traditional rice and beans as sides. Your best value is picking their 1, 2, or 3 item combos or from their a la carte menu if you just want a light snack. Table side guacamole is always fun to order, but If not, their complimentary chips and salsa will satisfy you just fine. The bar at this place is always hoppin, happy hour seems to always bring the locals in. Sadly, during our last visit we really noticed a hike in pricing, seems like everything has gone up for the same mediocre food. In all honesty, this location could really use a renovation. It's dated and a bit run down and could really use a facelift. I hope in the future they can revamp this place, I really don't think the city of Thousand Oaks can afford to lose another restaurant/business as we have seen so many recently close. I'm rooting for you Ciscos! read more
