For those who have read my reviews. I did my review on Mariana when she was at Cutting Image Salon…read moreon E. Woodlawn awhile back.. But starting today, Mariana FINALLY went on her own. My view haven't change on how I feel about Mariana as a stylist.. She's on point with my haircuts. Never disappoint. She been cutting my hair for 3 years now. I'm alway happy after every visits. I know she have went to NYC for razor cutting class. Few more cutting classes at Loreal Academy. She's now a Loreal expert and that's the products they used at Loo Loo's Today she shaved my side again.. Also got the balayage highlights again. I'm not really sure what that is but have 10 weeks of not getting it done. People still like my highlights. All thinks I just got it done. Liz whose the other half of Loo Loo's is a certified Loreal Educator and took the same classes as Mariana. These ladies are good at what they do. They take pride in their works and willing to educate themselves to bring clients the best new techniques and the current trends. I will posted some of my hair from when Mariana did it at Cutting Image so you can judge for yourself.

NOTE: My review is based on the services received from Denise, my brow specialist…read more Ambience: The salon is located in a small strip mall off Elm in Ballantyne, look for Sugar doughnuts, it's two doors down. The salon is a nice size, updated fixtures, clean and well lit. There are about 6 stations, shampoo bowls and a few dryers. Denise is located in the back of the salon, in a cute private room, used for waxing and facial services. Service: I've come a few times and haven't had much of a greeting by the staff or front desk team member. I'm usually greeted with "Are you here for Denise? She'll be out shortly." (rarely does anyone tell her I'm there, I've had to inform her via text) Denise is a brow whisperer. She is the ONLY person in Charlotte who touches my brows. I'd walk around looking like Oscar the Grouch before letting anyone else touch them. She is gentle and knowledgeable and if needed will put you on a regimen for growth/shaping. She's got a great personality and is easy going. Love her! Pricing: Denise's prices are reasonable and competitive. They vary depending on service. She offers everything from waxing to microblading. Overall I can't say much for the salon, but I will shout Denise's name from the rooftops. If you're in need of some brow love, holla at Denise.

I originally came here on a recommendation from a local friend who had her hair cut by a stylist…read morewho's no longer here. Had highlights, keratin & cut done satisfactorily twice. Then was upset when there were brassy, orange areas in my long hair. Wanted to have Carole, the owner, do it since I'd seen some of her highlight work that was good. Couldn't fit into her appointment schedule as she was traveling and had Cherry do it. Was dissatisfied with the color & appearance of "zebra" stripes near the scalp as it grew. I called Carol, who said she'd take a look. She said it looked like 8 week's growth, but checking it she realized it was 4 weeks old. (Normally lasts 10 weeks between coloring). I was charged full price (which should have been discounted since it only lasted 4 weeks. I was happy that Carol was doing it, figuring she'd be the best colorist experience-wise. But it wasn't...same orange spots scattered through, she left the toner on too long to cover the orange and then the hair was way too dark. She was busy re-doing another clients highlights while doing mine & must've lost track of time. She then trimmed my bangs way too short and totally slanted...and, to add insult to injury...told me i had a cowlick & that's what the bang slant was. I'm 68 & have never had a cowlick in my very straight hair in my life! I called her as soon as I got home and told her again she cut the bangs crooked. I had paid another $145 + tip for what looked like a botched do it yourself at home job. At this point I told her I wanted my money back. Her answer: no, I used product! Beware of this salon! And Carol Alexander, the owner! Priced higher than the Ballantyne Hotel and sarcastic & sassy to boot! Sincerely, Eileen Johnson

I have been struggling to find a good hair salon in Charlotte since I moved here two years ago…read more Lane Salon was near my house so I decided to try it out. I loved their new client form where it asked what I was looking for, what my budget was and to attach some pictures of my hair currently and what I wanted to accomplish. Based off my answers, they paired me with Layla. Layla was so sweet and really cared about what I wanted. She walked me through her thought process and answered any questions I had. Or to directly message the people on the staff page. There isn't much information about each staff member (one is just a photo of part of a palm tree?). I messaged one girl and didn't get a reply. I messaged another woman who is also listed as the owner, and she told me she would send me booking options as soon as she got to the salon. The next day, after still not hearing anything, I messaged again to inquire about availability to book an appointment. She told me that someone could get me at 12 pm one day, I let her know my work schedule and asked again what their schedule looked like for the next two weeks. She told me to just give her a time. I also clarified that I would be using a Groupon that I purchased for a haircut at the salon, and she then informed me that there is only one staff member who accepts Groupons and that she had been in a car accident, and that I could book again with another stylist who does not accept Groupons, or to text the stylist who was in an accident and ask her. To me this seemed really innapropriate. I asked if she knew when that stylist might be back, as I didn't want to message her outside of work if she was just in an accident, and the owner replied "I'm not sure at the moment, but if you text her, she should respond now because she is home". Like why don't you know what's going on with your employees or have a schedule for appointments? Idk. I cancelled my Groupon, it was such a headache to try to book a haircut, I'm glad I'm not going. Definitely listen to the other reviews before booking.
