My friend and I waited in a half empty restaurant 40 minutes for lunch. I ordered a blue cheese hamburger, and asked for it medium rare. It came well done, and it was very thin. Neither the waitress nor the manager asked us how our meals were. We had tickets to a nearby performance, so I ate some of my meal as we wouldn't have had time to have them make us something else. Ciros is amazing adventure like your going back in time. Have been there dozens of times and they do not disappoint. Went New Year's Eve for their once a year prime rib which was fantastic. The outdoor patio is a little oasis- doesn't make you feel like you are in downtown Woonsocket at all! Live music (even with a local hoping on the mike- shout out to Stevie D!) There is a game attached to the wall (it involved a ball on a string?) A fireplace, bar... just a nice palce to spend a Friday night like we did. I am going to start with saying- THE PARMESAN RISSOTTO IS TOP NOTCH! My boyfriend warned me ahead of time and he wasn't wrong. I ate ever speck of it off my plate! The steak tips were cooked as ordered and flavorful with green beans. We did start with Thai wings. They were a good size, cooked well and an interesting flavor. My boyfriend had the fish tacos with shrimp salsa which he coined as tasty. He said their hand cut fries are always delicious. Also, shout out to the bartender... We made the mistake of coming here on a trivia night, so I was initially a little annoyed by the loud trivia questions throughout the meal. They did also play music which was fine. Once the trivia ended, this place had good, traditional pub vibes. The whole place is inspired by Henry VIII's Hampton Court and there are paintings of Henry all over as well as some décor based on that time period like candle looking light fixtures. We came here because they are participating in the Museum of Work and Culture's Poutine Indulgence. The poutine was really tasty and not too salty like at other places. However, I was kind of disappointed that mine was a bit cold. The real standout of our meal of salads, poutine and stuffed quahogs were the quahogs- nice and hot and really tasty. Decent beer list. They had Captain's Daughter which is always a fave. Service was friendly and very good. I would come back if in the area but would make sure to confirm there was no trivia whenever I planned to visit. If you like trivia you may not care but I dislike it as much as karaoke. read more

Recently stopped in on a very busy night. We had show tickets so we needed something close by. They found 2 seats at the patio bar. At first it seemed tight but it wasn't bad after all. It was packed. The bartender did a fantastic job getting drinks to outside area including tables and bar. Drinks and food. She did a fantastic job. We both got burgers and fries. I was looking forward to drinks and dinner with a friend until we received the meals. We both got fish tacos which were "market price" $18.99. We received 2 small, skimpy tacos that were served in a holder meant for three. We commented to the server that he was missing one. He said oh does it say 3 on the menu? The meals were also served with a small portion of fries vs nachos. I also ordered a mango habanero margarita, but it didn't taste like mango at all and didn't have a salted rim like the description. We tried addressing the issues at the time of dining and emailed Ciro's privately, but did not receive a response. Certainly not the quality or quantity that Ciro's used to be known for. :( read more

Fantastic atmosphere, food, and dining options. They have both indoor and outdoor dining as well as an outdoor bar with bar seating as well. We had the calamari and lobster BLT and they were both amazing! They definitely give you more than a fair share of calamari for the price and definitely more than many other places so I'd highly recommend that. The lobster BLT was also inexpensive for the amount the give plus bacon, arugula, and Mayo. It was really delicious. Their fries also seem freshly cut and seasoned and they were very yummy as well. Couldn't tell you how the food is. We sat down at about 6:30, maybe a little earlier. We ordered pour drinks and tried to order our food but he was just like "I'll get your food order when I drop off your drinks," and then walked away. Saw another person order a drink after us and get their drink before us. We waited over 10 minutes for drinks, we just had waters and soda. He dropped the drinks, walked away, and said he'd be back for our food. Put in our food orders. Waiting. Waiting. Waiting. It's now 7:30. Finally we grab him ask for our check and the food to be put in boxes. He brings the check and tells us one burger came off the grill and is getting boxed the other is still cooking (smash burgers so not cooked to temp should be done at same time.) We continue waiting. Finally we give up and get up to leave we go in and see a bag sitting outside the kitchen so we pause to see if we can grab someone to see if it's ours. He walks by and is like "okay have a goodnight." To which we say we still don't have our food. He goes to the kitchen and who I'm assuming is a manager came out with it so she could "walk with us and talk with us." She then proceeds to tell us how we didn't have a reservation and so us and our food was not a priority and if we wanted to get food in a timely manner next time to make a reservation. Needless to say no reservation will be made. **edited to add mom went to have her burger today. She had order it with no horseradish mayo, the server and her had a full out conversation about it. I'm not sure why i haven't reviewed Ciros yet. I love this place. It's where we go for dinner and drinks before a show at the stadium. We also love to get a burger to go to have at Lops brewing. The menu is huge and something for everyone. Service is always on point even when it's busy which is usually is. They do a great job keeping everyone happy. The outdoor space is nice and welcoming. The woman told me that they weren't taking anymore reservations for the day. When I asked about there website reservation request she replied that "she didn't know how that worked???" Food is good but way to overpriced for what you get! Been there a couple of times with friends and family and honestly every time I get the bill from this place I never really feel that the meals were worth the price I can get the same style of food from chelos for instance at 25% less cost. So I guess you're just paying for the ambiance! Just don't make the mistake and go to their patio out back because you'll feel like you're just sitting at your friend's backyard and paying an exorbitant amount of cost for the food. I made the mistake and ate recently in the patio at back totally forgot I was at Ciro's Restaurant until I got the bill and that woke me up real fast to the fact that I wasn't just at somebody's backyard barbecue!! They're back area loses a lot of ambiance that the inside has when you're eating at the inside at least you feel like you're paying for the ambiance it's a total different experience. Also it seems like the service in the patio it's a little more laxed and it's not as attentive as the servers inside. I guess that adds to the backyard barbecue feel! Love their outdoor patio! Tons of seating, fire pits, live music on certain nights, good drinks. We were seated immediately on a Saturday night and the band was playing which was a nice surprise. I ordered the pineapple strawberry margarita which was a bit on the sweet side, but really good. Our drinks were served in small, plastic cups which I didn't love, but maybe that was just because we were outside? Clam chowder was good. Not overly thick or creamy and had a nice clam taste. No large chunks within the soup. Fish & chips looked amazing. I ordered the poutine appetizer and was underwhelmed, but I have heard from others that it is usually much better. This review is for the drinks and bar alone. I've driven past Ciros a million times and have friends that would come for trivia but I had never partaken. You can either park on Main street or they offer complementary valet. I've been told that the restaurant used to be know as a dive bar but I find the antique wood moulding is charming and upscale. I'm told the charm of it all is even though they've changed clientele they still offer buckets of beers. The menu looked great, so did the plates of food coming out. I honestly suppressed the fact that I came here from my memory. Party of 4 came here on a Friday evening as we were visiting our friend who lives walking distance away. We sat in the first immediate dining room area. My first impression of this restaurant was that it was absolutely hideous. Extremely dark and dated. Our server- whose name I can't remember for the life of me (spoiler alert it's because she straight up disappears)- came over pretty promptly at first. We each ordered drinks to start. Everything goes downhill from here, to put it lightly. It takes her FIFTEEN MINUTES to return WITHOUT THE DRINKS??? We all had our menus fully closed and were craning our necks around to look for her. She returned and acted like everything was normal?!? But- it! Gets! Worse!!!! We order penne alla vodka, chicken Madeira, a pizza, and a 4th dish I can't remember. Still no drinks- we'd ordered the sangria, 2 beers, and a Moscow mule. 25 minutes after we ordered the drinks, she finally brings 2 of them. The 2 beers, with literally no head at all. Essentially this means the beers were sitting up on the service bar for too long, meaning that our server obviously did not bring them over to us when they were ready and it had nothing to do with the bartender. Eventually food runners bring our food. It didn't take a crazy amount of time for us to receive that, as it had nothing to do with our server. Howver, I guess everybody that works here is just mediocre because every single dish came out completely ice cold. Why didn't we send it back? Because our server literally was nowhere to be found for the rest of our meal. Literally the WHOLE rest of the time. Mind you, despite our food being cold, I did get pasta and asked for red pepper flakes and Parmesan cheese. Never got that either, server never came back to check on our dishes to see if they were OK- which would've been a good thing since they WERE NOT. I truly have not had worse vodka pasta in my whole entire life. It was so incredibly overcooked on top of being cold which made no sense, did not taste anything- and I mean ANYTHING- like penne vodka. And every single person at the table agreed upon that. So then we're done eating our horrible food, or at least done eating as much of it as we could stomach. We sit there. We sit there some more. At one point we actually start a timer to see when in the world our server will ever come back, as the last time that she was back was when she brought us drinks over a half hour ago. Eventually our timer reached 17 minutes. Mind you, this is not just 17 minutes after we finish, this is 17 minutes after we decided that she was taking an eternity and wanted to see how long she could possibly take. We are also seated quite close to the host stand. It was extremely obvious that we were looking around. At one point I even stood up and was taking a gander to see if I could spot her, or she could spot me. The host obviously saw us looking. Granted, it's not the host's job to keep tabs on the servers. But when you work in a service industry job and you see customers cleary looking for assistance any self-respecting employee would at least decide to inquire as to why we look so distraught. Not this host though. This host instead was eating chips at the host stand! Finally, we are so fed up that we decide to commit one of the most annoying things a patron in a restaurant can do: ask the host for the check. The host is like, oh yeah of course sure let me just grab your server. The host acts as if she hasn't been watching us look around for at least 20 minutes, but OK. The prodigal server returns, and again PRETENDS LIKE EVERYTHING IS FINE AND SHE HASNT BEEN GONE FOR 40 MINS?!?! Literally does not address it at all. Doesn't even ask how the food was, which would have been useful since it was in fact terrible. We give her four credit cards without her even bring us the bill because we are that desperate to get out of there. She brings back three of the four cards and then disappears ONCE AGAIN. Just a whole credit card completely missing. The person whose card it was was so fed up that she approached the other servers and asked if they could help her find it. Confirmed: everybody that works at this restaurant is mediocre. None of the servers decided to help her instead they gave the snide, "why don't you ask your server" and continued on with their own conversation! IF ONLY WE COULD FIND OUR SERVER EVER! We ended up finding the card after she searched without any kind of assistance, or even an apology from anybody for the server losing her card, on her hands and knees with a flashlight, eventually finding it at the bar outside on the ground. Jacob was a huge help in menu planning - he helped adjust menu items to match our budget and found a way to meet all our dietary restrictions. On the day of the event, their team handled the entire set up and breakdown, including staying onsite to manage the lunch buffet. They even ran out to get almond milk for our coffee which I had forgotten to order. They were timely, friendly, and easy to work with. The food was warm, homey, and delicious and displayed beautifully. I definitely felt like the Ciro's team had my back. Grateful! read more

Went there for our first stop on our RI Food Fights Burger Passports. First time here. We have mixed feelings. Prices were decent. Atmosphere was OK. Dining area had some issues with the booth seats (cracked in some areas). Wasn't fond of the disposable plastic cups they served the drinks in; not what you would expect in a restaurant. Restrooms were strange; there was 1 bathroom on the main floor, then another bathroom upstairs on an empty floor. I didn't feel comfortable going up there. Service was OK. It was pretty dead that night, so service was slow considering. But, the server was very nice. We started with an order of their Asian wings; they were fantastic. With the Burger Passports, they only allowed you to get the Ciro Burger, which was a problem for us. It comes with blue cheese (I'm allergic) & a horseradish sauce (hubby hates horseradish). We asked to substitute with a burger of the same price & were told no substitutions were allowed. I was hesitant to get it because I've had it happen at other places where I've told them I had an allergy, yet the blue cheese made it on the plate anyway. And even after expressing that concern, they still wouldn't allow a substitution. So, I gave my coupon to my son & ordered onion soup & a salad (both very good). Hubby asked for no horseradish, but they put it on the side anyway; at least it wasn't on the burger. The guys said the burger patty itself was cooked & seasoned well. But the onion rings on it were soggy, as was the bun. If rating the food only, it'd get 4 stars. Docked a star for the lack of customer service/accommodation, slow service, & overall vibe of the place. We probably wouldn't go out of our way to go to Woonsocket to eat here. The building is over 130 years old and they smartly put the history on the back of the menu so history geeks like myself can not assault the waitstaff with 100 questions about it. The food was typical pub fare and was quite good. The salads we got were enormous and honey BBQ chicken nachos were interesting. The burgers, chicken dishes and fish coming from the kitchen past we were siting all smelled delicious. The waitress was definitely lacking an interest in us and forgot we were there and was not overly nice, otherwise it'd be a solid 5 stars.
