This is the restaurant we have been searching for. There is no good Italian food where we live, and we were so pleased to learn about Ciro's. The place has an old world quality, which we enjoyed, and our server, Joanne, was fabulous. She knew the menu and was very personable. We both started with the pasta fajioli, which was absolutely delicious. My husband ordered penne al pomodoro, with fresh tomatoes, garlic, and wine, and he couldn't stop raving about it with each mouthful. I ordered the luscious chicken Maximo, in a sauce of tomatoes, sun dried tomatoes, mushrooms, wine, and asparagus on top. Was driving through the Jamesburg area, and checked Yelp to see if there was any place good for dinner. The reviews for Ciro's looked good, so we gave it a try. At first, I wasn't sure - it seemed a bit more of a formal restaurant than I had anticipated from the web (and we were tired from a long day of driving). But our waiter was really friendly and welcoming, and helped me decide on a pasta entree, and my husband had Lasagne. Salad was good, and the house dressing was very good as well. And even better, the pasta entrees were great - served very hot, with pasta cooked just right - not soggy. And the Pasta Arrabbiata, which the waiter had suggested, was just wonderful! And it was even a great lunch the next day! So while the pricing is not inexpensive, it is a great value. I often work with a store in Jamesburg,and I've often wondered where to stop to eat nearby - I think I've found a great spot! read more

I love Ciro's I had my retirement party on June 28,2019 upstairs at Ciro's. The service was amazing. I don't know how the servers navigate around all the kids running around. We had small children and a DJ. The food was the best and the cake. Everyone had great things to say about Ciro's. It's great to know that when you choose a place to have a party, you don't need to worry about the service and food. This is not the first time I have been at a party here. My husband and I have been coming to Ciro's for years. The service is alway impeccable. We have never had a bad meal here. My personal favorite is the Seafood with Farfale pasta. It is to die for! Never knew this place was a restaurant always thought it was a event hall. Stopped in with family for the first time and I was impressed. Plentiful parking in the back and side, entrance is on far right side of rear, can be confusing for first timers. Server was very attentive and nice. Went with regular calamari and the "Ciro" style. The "Ciro" style was amazing, it was a sweet and spicy dressing. Also had some steamed clams, very small but good. Had eggplant rollatini for dinner, it was ok, I've had better. Some went with penne ala vodka and it was dam good. They have a full bar to hang at and eat. It's a local spot it seems like also. Went on a Friday around 4-6 and it wasn't that busy. Very good service and bread basket. Affogato: octopus was on rubbery side although sauce was very good. Gnocchi bolognese was OK. Salads that come with the dinner were sub-par. Veal scaloppine was above average and vegetable sides were well prepared. Lemoncello cake was OK. Had a coupon which really helped. The food is fresh and the staff is the best. We try going at least once every two weeks. We take our baby girl there and the staff makes it so easy to keep her entertained. Not only do we get to have a glass of wine, relax and enjoy the food, but our baby enjoys it too. I usually get the ravioli and my husband gets the Chicken Maximo. This is the kind of place for formal dinners and parties where people will order drinks from the bar along with their meals, but we are not big drinkers or partiers. We ordered the veal parmagian, which was okay. It came with a roasted vegetable dish which was good, but not pasta (which was extra). There was no salad included and the dish cost $20. Went to Ciro's tonight with my husband. Our waitress gave us the menus and left abruptly. She came back and said "are you ready to order?" We asked about specials which we had overheard another waitress telling the table next to us. She said "0h I didn't tell you"? She named off two specials, but when asked about specifics she didn't have the details. Also , she failed to tell us there was an appetizer special. We ordered an appetizer and our entrees and app was brought out promptly. Again, heard another waitress say that soup or salad came with every entree. We were surprised because our waitress never asked. She came to retreive appetizer dishes and I said I overheard that soup or salad came with our dinner. She said oh yes we have minestrone and pasta fagioli. We both ordered pasta fagioli The waitress brought our soup, but it was minestrone. We didn't notice and she hurriedly plunked it down and walked away. We ate it without mentioning it. My entree was cold so I only ate half and brought the rest home. Finally, she came to our table and brought the check - never even asking if we wanted coffee or dessert. This is a nice restaurant with a pleasant ambiance and the bread is outstanding. The reason I have given it two stars instead of one is because of the ambiance and the bread. Another negative was the temperature in the restaurant- it was very chilly - maybe 65-66 degrees. We saw other diners indicating they were freezing too. This is our second time at Ciro's. Probably will be our last. read more

I live local and used to dine there several times a month.The portions have become very small and over priced. The first time in years that we were still hungry after dinner. Ciro's Ristorante Italiano is a fancy place with horrible massively overpriced food! I recently took my family to this restaurant and we were all tremendously disappointed in how bad the food was! Growing up Italian and eating in so many Italian restaurants I can honestly say Ciro's food is the worst food I have ever had in an Italian restaurant. I suspect they might be writing their own reviews because the food was that bad. I would pay not to eat in Ciro's restaurant!! We have been going to Ciro's since they started out in Twin Rivers as a pizza place. Ciro finally got his dream of a full on restaurant and bar.. Went there on April 10, 2014. Food and service were excellent. Had the Shrimp Fra Diablo and my wife had the stuffed shrimp special. For the appetizer, had the combination asparagus with artichoke hearts. Our desserts and cappuccino was really tasty and properly prepared. The food here is really good. Our waiter, James, was very attentive and friendly, and gave us great service. Timing of bringing the courses of food was just right. My daughters recently Hosted a surprise Birthday Party for my wife. We were blown away by the great service that Ciro gave us. The food was spectacular. Food was literally inedible, service was atrocious, and the bill was unexpectedly huge due to opaque pricing of specials. We were optimistic after reading all of the other positive reviews on Yelp and went here recently with a decent sized group. We were seated upstairs and started with a giant appetizer plate that the server pushed on the table. This was a massive dish consisting of an assortment of cold, limp, greasy, fried foods that we barely touched. Many in our group then ordered the specials that were also aggressively pushed by the waiter. The seafood arrived cold and undercooked and, as a result, went mostly uneaten as well. I ordered the eggplant parmesan off the menu, which arrived wrong as an eggplant rollatini instead. Due to a stomach condition, I cannot consume ricotta cheese and regretfully had to ask for the meal I had originally ordered. Rather than apologizing for the mistake, the waiter insisted that the eggplant rollantini was "more or less the same thing" as the other meal I had ordered, which put me in the awkward situation of having to explain my medical issue to him in front my whole group. He begrudgingly returned the item to the kitchen only to reappear less than a minute later with a new eggplant parmesan meal which, given how quickly it arrived, I can only assume was pre-prepared and microwaved. This was the worst italian food I've ever eaten. It was not fresh at all. The eggplant was incredibly soggy and mushy. It was truly disgusting and appeared as if it had already been sitting in the kitchen for several weeks. Imagine trying to eat a meal with the consistency of rubbery, wet tissue paper. Upon seeing that the food had barely been touched, the waiter had the audacity to mock me in front of the entire table by declaring "I bet you wish you didn't send back the rollantini now, don't you?" It was entirely inappropriate. The bill arrived and, to our surprise, all of the specials had been priced much more expensively than anything else that appeared on the menu. Despite the awful experience and extremely rude service, full gratuity was of course pre-included as an additional expense on the bill. I honestly have no idea what anyone else sees in this place. Spending nearly $300 on a single appetizer plate, six inedible entrees, and two drinks was not at all the experience we had been seeking. We left feeling as though we had been robbed. Needless to say we will never be coming back to this awful restaurant. read more

We had been to this establishment two previous times. We weren't overly impressed, but it is close to where we live, the bar area is fairly comfortable, the servers are friendly, and the food has been relatively consistent. Last night's dinner was terrible. My dinner - a simple linguine with pesto - was awful. The pasta was bland and tasted like a Ronzoni-type pasta. The pesto sauce was that brownish color it turns when it isn't fresh, and it tasted off. The server asked if he should call out the chef - I declined - the chef had to know that the sauce wasn't fresh... so my main meal was inedible - and this was on the heels of the server forgetting the seared tuna appetizer I'd ordered. The pasta fagioli was passable, but I've had better. On a positive note, he did make an exaggerated point of telling us that my undelivered appetizer would be taken off the bill. Umm I'd HOPE so! At 2 AM I woke with incredible stomach cramps which I can only attribute to the linguine with the turned pesto sauce. We will never eat here again. read more

I go to Ciros from time to time with a few girlfriends for happy hour. EVERY single time we have been there, the older woman who bar tends is SO incredibly rude to us.. the first time, we just chalked it up to assuming she was having a bad day and didn't take it personally; but the next time, and the time after that, the same treatment. And I'm not talking just lacking in the customer service department, i'm talking like straight up disrespectful. She is friendly and attentive to others, so idk what her deal is with younger female customers. On a positive note, the younger girl who tends bar is awesome & the drinks she mixes are delicious. The food here is really good; I have never had an item off the menu that wasn't delicious. read more

We decided kind of late on a Friday night that we wanted a nice dinner - good food good wine - and headed here around 9:30/10:00. I was a little worried because it was so late that the servers and staff would be anxious to leave and we would get bad food or bad service, but I was happy to say I was so wrong. First of all the decor is simply gorgeous - its nice without being stuffy or overdone and imposing. You definitely can come here casually dressed to sit in the bar area but you want to be a little dressy for the dining room area- you have to match the space you're in. Even though it was later in the night the hostess was accommodating and very polite as well as the owner Tony, who greeted my boyfriend and I warmly and came to our table to ask us how things were, after dinner he even let me see the GORGEOUS event space upstairs. The wines that we had were excellent - Our appetizers (skirt steak wrapped around arugula, and tuna steak with wasabi soy sauce) were absolutely amazing, we cleared those plates in seconds flat. Then we had salads that came with our meal, definitely recommend the house dressing because its the best I've ever had. Our meals were even better, he got a special that had Langostino shrimp on crab meat risotto which he loved. I got a rib eye steak with veggies and a potato croquette - I was already full from the appetizers and salad so I only ate a little bit of my meal at the restaurant it was fantastic fresh , even better the next day. For dessert we had the exotic bomba and it was a great way to end the meal. Our server Anthony was excellent the entire time and talked about the food with us. It was late in the day and the restaurant was closed by the time we left but he was patient with us, never rushed us and never made us feel like we were imposing on his Friday night.
