I'm pretty shocked by the experience I just had here. My best friends and I have been wanting to visit this shop since they've opened and finally today, while being out and about to celebrate a birthday, we were able to check it out. I found a vintage postcard I really liked but unfortunately we didn't find anything else we wanted. When I went to check out, it came to $3. I asked if they used Venmo or cashapp, or if using a card on such a small purchase was a possibility. The woman checking us out (older with glasses) asked if we had cash. I apologized and said I didn't. She then said, "Wow, really, none of you have cash?" One of my friends apologized, saying we had just come from another store. She then blatantly chastised us, saying, "None of you have even $3?" We've all needlessly apologized at this point and she's just being mean. I tell her it's okay and turn to leave. She's then calling after me saying "Wow, you're not even going to buy and are just going to leave? We can do credit." At that point, I was out the door.
I get that it's not ideal to use card for a small purchase. She could have said, "Sorry, we have a $5 card minimum" if she didn't want to make the sale. She could have just rang it up if she did want to make the sale. What I don't understand is why she would be so rude and antagonistic. I won't be coming back and will recommend others skip this shop. read more
