Stopped by for lunch on a long road trip. 10/10 spot. Excellent service and food was fantastic. Burger was large, juicy and fresh. Cheese curds were delicious. Excellent ice cream options as well.

We drove out of our way on a roadtrip to go here and it was worth it!! Friendly service, great food, clean bathroom, easy stop. I loved the cheeseburger and onion rings. The cyclone is not to be missed!!!!

Omg. This burger was everything I hoped and dreamed of. The jalapeno cream cheese spread was amazing. And the slushie was so good it makes me salivate just thinking about it. This is a hidden gem in SD and I wish I could go there again. Definitely recommend.

If you're looking for some great food while in Murdo, you must try Cicle E Drive Inn. We had the bacon cheeseburger and fries. Everything was fresh and good.

Got there just before closing. Lucky us, as I didn't see anything else around. I went in and ordered burgers and drinks for the hubby and myself. They were very busy and everyone was working hard. It's a family business and the son took my order. Very nice and polite. The place was small but cute, like the hamburger and ice cream place it was. Our food was ready and the hubby & I ate outside as we were traveling with our little mini schnauzer. Our food was great, the flies were horrible. When we were finished, the hubby took our trash and condiments back inside as the family was doing closing stuff. The dad asked about our car and was super nice, as well. If you're looking for lunch, dinner or a sweet ice cream treat, give them your business!

One of the best burgers ever! So fresh and delicious. We were traveling from Badlands NP to Sioux Falls and needed to stop for lunch. The restaurant is close to the highway and an easy quick stop. The staff were welcoming and friendly. We sat outside on the patio. I had the cheeseburger and my husband had the Big Al burger. Both were delicious. We shared a small fry and had plenty leftover. Very reasonably priced with burgers around $9 and fries $3.

We went here for late lunch on Monday. It happened to be all that was open but we're glad we went. We had a reg cheeseburger and double cheeseburger and onion rings. Everything was very good. The burgers are big so think twice on the double. I would highly recommend this place. They also have ice cream, malts. They looked really good too.

Circle E was VERY busy on Father's Day Sunday at lunch time. Most seats inside and out were full with families celebrating their patriarchs. The kitchen was pumping out food as fast as they could. I ordered a corn dog and their loaded taco dog. I had asked for clarification of what was all included on the taco dog. The cashier was unsure but someone behind the counter rattled through the toppings. I didn't want to hold up the line so I went with it. My food came and I opened the HEAVY clamshell to-go container to reveal the MASSIVE loaded taco dog. Picture this: a 10" tortilla, a 1/4 lb hot dog, taco-flavored ground beef, shredded cheese, shredded lettuce, and sour cream. This thing was so so big and really tasty. I'd recommend it. The corn dog was good too. A little bit better than your standard corndog with mustard to dip it in. The ice cream treats that I saw people getting looked really good. If you're passing through Murdo, Circle E Drive In is a good place to grab a bite!

Fantastic short order grill and ice cream spot! We were driving through on a Bad Lands road trip and thankfully our timing for lunch landed us in Murdo so we could feast on this great food. I'd describe it as an upscale Dairy Queen offering burgers, chicken sandwiches, fries, shakes, cyclones (like a blizzard) and more. I highly recommend the Hawaiian Chicken sandwich which has sweet onions and pineapple and a great lighter version to the burger. My husband said his cheeseburger was the best he's had. Service was efficient and everyone was welcoming and smiley. Both indoor and outdoor seating (in the summer) and plenty of parking. Restrooms were also clean and a definite upgrade from many of the gas station options on the journey. Added to our road trip pit stop recommendations!

Ask the Community - Circle E Drive In

Is this a drive in like Sonic or do you need to go inside to order?

They are so busy most times, you need to go to the order counter, but they will take your name and deliver it to your table outside. If you arrive when they're not busy (does that happen?), maybe they'd come out & take an order, don't know.… Read more

This is a solid choice for local dining…read more I will begin by saying the exterior of this building gave me pause. I have walked into a few 'less than friendly' establishments in my life and the exterior gave me that vibe. Thankfully, inside is a warm and delightful business with plenty of food options and stiff drinks at a fair price. No beer on tap, but a fair variety in cans. Definitely a space to bring the family, there are two dining areas. One to the right is a long narrow space with booths on the front side and tables in a variety of four and six seating configurations. Decor is wildlife pictures and dark paneling. No windows. To the left of the entrance is the bar and another grouping of dining tables. Parking is on three sides of the building and there are no designated parking spaces. Just be sure you and others can get in and out. The building entrance is street side. There is no awning or anything to let you know 'this is the one'. The menu has a kids section for the young ones. The regular Saturday special was prime rib w/a salad, roll, potato and dessert. So much food! They also offer a couple of ground buffalo meat meals along with sandwiches and entrees. We went with lighter fare and found a side salad order gives you one walk up to the salad bar. They also have a soup & salad bar meal option. As in most other restaurants we've encountered on our travels through the area, the salad base is a bagged iceberg lettuce mix. There were plenty of toppings and salad dressings to choose. My mushroom swiss burger was tasty as were the onion rings. The burger was well cooked and not greasy. Real onions in a tempura style batter had a nice flavor and crunch. Our waitress was pleasant with all the guests and she kept a close eye on us. We had our drinks in good time and the food came in an expected amount of time. Pay at the register by the door on your way out. There's a basket of candy just behind you there (I had a butterscotch. Yum!) and toothpicks are available in a dispenser on the counter. The internet tells me they are open until 11pm.
