Back again after more than 5 years it seems! Restaurant has been remodeled and is smaller than I remember. Got 5 items for take out this time. 2 burgers, a sandwich, a wrap, and mozzarella sticks. The only real disappointment was the mozzarella sticks. For $7.75, I thought there would be more than 5 small sticks. At least they were okay. This is a small diner in a small strip mall that faces a large circular intersection with parking behind the businesses. It's been there at least 30 years and probably doesn't sit more than 40 people max. While not spectacular the food has been reliably good over the years and not too expensive. I hadn't been there in a while so I was there with my wife for breakfast. The service was acceptable, food was hot and ample. I would have given the location 3 stars but for a couple gnats that kept coming flying around us. This is the first time we've experienced that so we'll give them another chance but they need to address that problem. read more

I ordered breakfast: pancakes, eggs, bacon, coffee Coffee was actually OK Pancakes -good taste but thin (not fluffy) decent size Bacon- super thin, small links but crispy and kind of salty for my taste Prices-normal I guess but for me, I would rather go to TriValley for those prices-actually TriValley may be less costly and their servings are more generous. Maybe I just had bad luck. I ordered the pot roast and it was chewy and flavorless. All one has do is add adequate flavoring and simmer over a low heat; pot roast is a hard dish to screw up, but they managed. The chicken soup should have had some bouillon added to it - it was watery and bland. read more

I've been coming here for years, the food has always been quick, decent quality (not gourmet), and a reasonable price. Even with previous changes in management, everything was remarkably consistent. There must have been another change in ownership over the past few months (although I havent seen a sign from the parking lot), and service has definitely suffered. New staff seems confused, gets orders wrong, asks questions I've never been asked before (how do I want my egg? For a breakfast sandwich?), rings up orders wrong, or accidently leaves the phone misplaced in the cradle so you can't get through. What was previously a good sized wrap today was half the size, with most of the wrap tucked in at the ends. Wil have to start looking for other places to go. read more

Checked out this place under new management after the owner distributed flyers around the neighborhood, food was delicious and they have a diverse menu which is a biggie when ur tired of the same old american cuisine. Food was delicious and at a fair price. Huesvos Rancheros were excellent, Its new and at the moment i only saw one waiter dashing about but service was good and im glad to have found a decent diner near dumont besides Matthews. I will be returning for brunch FYI they never have Monterey Jack cheese dont know why, but some of their dishes include it but they never have it in stock, bummer otherwise id give this place 5 stars read more

Waiting for breakfast the place seems to be busy which is a great sign. Food was great service was wonderful. Would definitely come back for another meal. I've never been here before they renovated but I definitely am a fan of the 'new' Circle Diner. The service is friendly, the restaurant is clean, + the food is good with great prices. Definitely a great local place to have breakfast, lunch or dinner. I've only been to this diner twice and so far I think it's excellent. The waitresses here are extremely generous and obviously enjoy their job. There's plenty of seating here both next to the counter and at the various tables in the diner. The place has a nice, bright interior with great decor that gives you the impression that you are actually eating at a real diner. Circle has a pleasant, diverse menu with lots of great options to choose from. Cute little hidden gem! It doesn't look like much from the outside but the food is wonderful and the service is fast! Diner style restaurant that also has pizza pies and calzones. This is the ultimate neighborhood diner. You're always running into friends. David and Maria and the rest of the crew are super welcoming. Value for $ is the best I've found in this pricey area. Nifty little place! Quite cheap, old-timey, the waitresses are all cute friendly old ladies. I usually stop by to pick up breakfast (make sure to check out the breakfast deal- a steal for less than 4 bucks!- only before 10:30 am I think) since I occasionally work nearby. Can't review their lunch/dinner. but if it similar to breakfast, very tasty (because everything is kinda DRENCHED in butter lol). This place is fine. I had some worries when I saw a guy near the dumpsters, behind the building, in his work apron. I commented that he should have removed the apron before he left the establishment he worked in (standard food safety protocol). I had thought he worked at the Chicken Delight (I've never eaten there but, I guess do to the name, I don't think much of them) but, as I started into my breakfast I saw the same guy walk in, take off his jacket, and get back to work... I ordered the Mexican Eggs which is two eggs done your way (over easy) with black beans seasoned well over three corn tortillas served with fried potatoes and some avocado. It was pretty tasty. I had hoped for my spice from the advertised jalapeno but it was missing so I asked for hot sauce. All they had was Franks which was very disappointing considering the staff looked Hispanic and, as such, I would have expected something better/tastier (like a Sontava, Melinda's or El Yucateco). My girlfriend ordered French Toast with eggs and sausage. The F/T had a tasty cinnamon flavor to them. The scrambled she ordered were lacking in flavor but the sausage was not. The sausage was thick link with lots of flavor; it was damn yummy. Despite some hiccups Circle is a adequate diner/restaurant in Dumont. read more

I went here for the first time after running the Dumont 5K. I arrived at 10am on a Saturday to a very crowded and loud restaurant. It took about a minute for, what looked to be the owner, to greet me. It's a small area without the luxury of much elbow room. He gave me the option of one of the two available tables or counter. I wasn't going to occupy an entire table for just myself so I chose the counter. I was asked for a beverage before I looked at the menu. I requested and received grapefruit juice which later, I did not see listed on the menu. My meal was Eggs Benedict with homefries which I had never tried before. I ate it while watching Barney & Friends on NJTV and listening to some background music which I couldn't make out from all the noise. It was a fine dining experience even when the owner spilled a drink and broke a glass in the corner of the restaurant and then asked for it to be mopped up.
