The food is always fresh. Haven't had a sandwich I did not enjoy. As a small business owner, I am fully impressed by the owners work ethic and care she takes to deliver a consistent and awesome product. Scituate is lucky to have Circes! read more

Ok, they do know how to make a decent sandwich. The owner is so rude that I have given up going there when I am in the area. I also avoid her place when I am in Charleston. read more

Sandwiches are life-changing, and I mean that seriously. Wait is usually pretty long but the demand is understandable.

The sandwiches are good but the people that run the place don't know how to run a sandwich shop. Even when you call in an order ahead of time they can't deliver. You call ahead and arrive and then they start making your order. I won't ever go in there again as they have disappointed me on service too many times. And I have given them the benefit of the doubt many times over several years. If you don't mind waiting 30-45 min to buy a sandwich this place is for you! read more

Everything on the menu is "off the charts" on the deliciousness scale. Excellent. A gem. Always a treat.

Food is decent, but don't go if you don't have a coupe hours to kill. Service is slow, they make one sandwich at a time and appear in no hurry to help. The owner must be rich, as this seems like a hobby. read more

My husband brought me their BLT home the other day and it so good! im not sure what kind of bread it was but i think it was sourdough, either way amazing! read more

Disappointed. But here's why- We ordered more than $20 of food there which was very good. I made the mistake of asking for a cup of "tap water". They actually charged us $.55 for a cup that was a little bit larger than a Dixie cup. Really??? Keep in mind we also purchased two beverages in our order. read more

Great food. The place succeeds in spite of being a Harvard Business School case study in inefficiency. The owner is also horrifically rude and unpleasant almost every time I have ventured inside. read more

Terrible terrible business etiquette. We arranged to pick up various sandwiches and salads for a 20 person party. Upon picking up the platters the sandwich count looked short. I asked if there were definitely two dozen and was belitted by the employee asking if I'd like to count them together with her. Paid for the platters and had to give a $40 deposit for the plates (reasonable). Was called back 20 minutes after leaving saying they didn't think it was enough food and didn't know it was for 20 people (they were told 3 times). Offered to send an extra plate of wraps to our location. When the employee dropped off the wraps, she said it was "all set" aka we didn't have to pay. When we brought back the plates to get the deposit back, the woman working said they were keeping the $40 for the extra wraps. We were never notified that was the deal, and the woman rudely insisted it had been discussed. Every conversation was handled in a insulting tone. Really did not try to work with us. read more

service is slow and rude and disappointed by the food. went at 2pm and barely had bread, cheese for sandwiches, chintzy on the meat. last visit to circe's. read more

I would never disparage the food quality of this restaurant, as the sandwiches are awesome! They really do combine wonderful flavors. HOWEVER, the service people are typically rude, inattentive and, if truth be told, pretty slow to process an order despite the business of the space. My biggest issue with this local haunt is that there is NO PICK UP LINE. ?!??? Why would anyone bother to place a presumably experiential order so that they could come in and stand in a line that takes 15 minutes on average? The servers act like an order may be inconvenient/ and, despite the price (as this is not an economic meal), they expect tips. I left most recently wondering, for what??? Tips= fast, friendly, convenient service, with quality end product... I left no tip. read more

The cookies at this place taste like they were made in a sandwich shop. NOT A BAKERY!!!!!

Such a yummy place to grab a healthy sandwich. Love the thymely tuna and the pesto pea salad rocks. Oh yeah, they also serve Hornstra Farm's chocolate milk which is the ultimate and the chocolate chip cookies are insane!!! xoxo read more

Consistently the best sandwiches & baked goods on the South Shore. I haven't had a better sandwich in Boston.

Yep, it's that good. Delicious original sandwiches, salads, and baked goods, both for breakfast and lunch. Teeny, tiny seating, but that's the advantage of being able to get your food to go before stopping at the Minot Beach overlook as your dining destination. Yum! read more

Count me among the many Circe fans. This place is wonderful! Be prepared to wait in a long line for your sandwich, but know that your wait is worthwhile. read more

Love this tiny sandwich shop .Excellent delish menu ,everything is so fresh ! Nice staff and fantastic prices!!

the chicken pot pie, raspberry mocha muffins warm right out of the oven, and now gelato!! there is always something delicious here.

It seems everyone loves Circi's but I don't get it. OK sandwiches but there is barely anywhere to eat and it is far from atmospheric. Mostly take-out. It just doesn't deserve more than three stars although the staff is friendly. read more

The only reason I am giving Circe's a 3 star review is because it is such a process to order a meal here. Long lines that move at a snail's pace. If you are at the door when entering turn around. They also take their phone off the hook so ordering to go is all but impossible. After saying all that, the food is very good, very fresh and yes, the chocolate chip cookies are the best I have ever had. So, if you are not in a rush and are patient then this is a five star sandwich joint. read more

Circe's Grotto has the best sandwiches, cookies and Brownies on the south shore!!! I have a slight addiction going in there almost everyday! I love Sue and the girls that work there, they always make me smile and the food makes me happy! It's a must go!!! read more

Hi Nicole , Recent visitor to Circes , Firstly I have been eating at Circes for years and always treated with a smiling face and the very best of food ,prepared beautifully and always fresh. I happened to be there on the day you came in. I noticed you looked at the menu ,chose your sandwich and was treated with total respect. Then you decided you wanted it toasted after it had been made for you . It was explained very professionally to you that the sandwich could not be toasted in the way that you had ordered it due to the honey mustard. You went to pay for it with a credit card even though there is a very clear sign indicating no credit cards. However Sue the lady that she is said you didn't have to pay for it and was extremely kind to you . You were not rushed and Circes personnel could not have been more gracious to you. YOUR COMMENTS ABOUT CIRCES AND ITS STAFF ARE UNWARRANTED AND CERTAINLY NOT DESERVED. YOU NEED TO LEARN HOW TO BE TRUTHFUL ABOUT A SITUATION AND NOT CONDEMN PEOPLE BECAUSE YOU JUST FEEL LIKE IT. read more

YUM!!! I love the food! California blt on sourdough mmmmmm! Soups are equally delish but I wish someone would answer the phone every time I call to order ahead no one answers I realize they are busy but it kinda stinks. Everyone who works there is really nice as well. read more

Service very slow and way overpriced. Attitude not great. Avoid this place. Great example of how not to run a business. Glad to see the employees and friends have checked in with the ratings of 5. read more

Food not great. Unpleasant service. Long waits. And I saw "ALL LIVES MATTER" written on the black marker board, a phrase that offends not just me. Too bad because this place is conveniently walkable from my house. read more

Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful food! If I could separate my ratings, the food would get 5 stars, hands down. Best sandwiches and baked goods around! And yet I would hesitate (at least in the mood I'm in right now, after going to get my sandwiches) to revisit, as some of their standard operating procedures are painful. I went in to order my food, waited for it, and when I went to pay for it, I found that they do not take credit or debit cards, only cash or checks. Yowsa. I was blown away. But ok, I drove across the street to Tedeschi's to the ATM Circe's recommended I use. No dice. Broken. The employees and I kept trying and trying. They said it had been going on and offline all day. Where to get money... ok. I drove to the bank down the street. There was a line at the ATM. I was already out an hour in the middle of my workday. No sandwiches and at least a 20-minute drive back to the office. When I got back to Circe's, everything was waiting (we had to reheat the sandwiches later), but when I told the owner that the ATM wasn't working, and asked if she might put a sign on the door that only cash and personal checks were accepted, she pointed to a 2-inch x 3-inch sign taped to the register and said, "There's a sign right here." Oh boy. I said I would have been perfectly happy to turn around at a sign on the door and go get the money and come back, rather than coming all the way in, waiting on a long line, then waiting for my food, and then and finding out when I got to the register that my credit/cash card currency would not be accepted. Her response? "But we WANT you to come in." ????? Not sure if being tricky was her intention, but I did feel a little tricked, to be honest. Impeccably prepared food. Genius combinations of ingredients. But please take care of your newbie customers as well as your regulars. Delicious food can also leave a bad taste in someone's mouth, if customer service is lacking. read more

Decided to treat myself today and get a sandwich. They are expensive but very good. I was eyeing the bakery case - their brownies and chocolate cookies are really good. Anyway, while I was standing at the counter waiting for my order I saw a fly inside the case strolling all over the pastries. When it was time to pay, the woman behind the counter asked me if I wanted anything else. I told her I was going to get a cookie until I saw the fly crawling all over the baked goods. Her response? "Well, you can't stop the flies." Oh the horror . . . I could not believe my ears. Uh, yes, once you see a fly you can work at killing it away from the food. At least make an attempt. Am definitely crossing this place off my list for good. I suspect that flies land on a lot of the takeout food we buy, but once I see one I won't buy the food. And to have a worker shrug about it is unacceptable, lazy and customer-unfriendly. read more
