I, like everyone else, have my fair share of strange dreams. However, the only sandwich (or any food item I can remember) to make its appearance is Circe's Turkey with melted cheddar, avocado, red onion and red pepper mayo on seven-grain bread. Just saying. Considering they have the best chocolate-chip cookie in the world, it can be forgiven that they often run out of seven-grain bread (Tuscan is just not the same), the space inside is minimal and often full with waiting customers. I absolutely love this place. I found this place on Yelp and based on their existing reviews it drew my attention. We live couple towns over and enjoy going there almost every weekend for lunch. I usually get the thymely tuna, tuna melt, or the Cuban press. All are very good and fresh! The veggie hummus is tasty as well! We only got the cookie once since everyone raves about them. The sandwiches and salads at Circe's are simply the best - freshly made with super fresh ingredients..... We have loved Circes for YEARS! The food is always super fresh and always prepared as you wait. Prices are posted on a chalk board and specials are changed daily. Cash and check are accepted, and they even let you run across the street (while they make your sandwich) to an ATM if you only have plastic. The food is amazing and the service is great too! The girls up front work so hard and are so pleasant. Go for the cookies and the wraps....oh and the paninis they're amazing too! PLEASE, pay no attention to the negative reviews. Many area people feel entitled to "special treatment". The owner is dedicated to fairness to ALL her customers...so is not likely to give one customer 12 chocolate chip cookies...because there wouldn't be any left for the rest of her customers. (This is a very small shop.) Many of our area people think that "no, I can't do that..." = rude. NOT SO...these are just grown ups acting like children having a tantrum. I only took a star off for the following reasons: it's cash only, they don't usually answer the phone, the owner is extremely particular about people on their cell phones or people who want to skip the line to pick up a phone order, it is very smoky inside due to lack of proper kitchen exhaust (you will leave with smelly clothes). The sandwiches are really good. Although pricey, you definitely get quality over quantity, which is really nice. I highly recommend the Italian Stallion, it is fantastic and fresh! HOWEVER, I have a major beef with this place. I've been twice (both on Saturday afternoon) and their ordering system is totally annoying and really time consuming. Both times I was there it was super packed...so I had to wait in line to place my order, which I really didn't mind. However, they literally will not allow you to pay when you place your order. So after about a 10 to 15 minute wait (for 2 sandwiches) they called my name and BOTH TIMES I've been there, they called my name and I had to wait an additional 5 to 6 minutes to get up to the counter and pay. Mostly because they only have one person working the counter and someone else is essentially just calling your name and walking away. So you have no choice but to get back in line to pay. So I very politely suggested to the owner that it would be great if I could pay when I order, since I ended up having to wait twice (once to order and once again to pay) and she was extremely argumentative and rude about my suggestion. She snapped "I've been doing this for 32 years! I know the way it's done, it wouldn't work the other way". I understand that on a busy Saturday she probably could care less about this type of customer suggestion. But she really should have just smiled and said "thank you for the suggestion", isn't that what good customer service is about? I think she is a overwhelmed with the great business they are doing, both times I was there I noticed that she had very little drink selection (like they were not ordered or had sold out too fast) and the place itself is a bit disheveled. I will not go back. I can deal with poor customer service from an employee, but from the owner, no way! I guess she doesn't appreciate my business (or my $25 for two sandwiches!) read more

Great place for artisan sandwiches and great bakery-inspired lunches. They're cash only but I stood in a really long line before I knew that fact (it's not posted anywhere). When I got up to the counter and asked about my debit card, she said that there was an ATM at the Tedeschi's across the street but she would be glad to make my sandwich while I ran over to it. That way, I didn't have to wait another twenty minutes. It made the Thanksgiving sandwich taste so much better once I got it. I'm going on a fishing trip and I said I'll get some sandwiches. This place doesn't take cash so I had to make a special trip to the bank. Then I walked into this place and I say I need four sandwiches. I said I need two roast beef with horseradish mayo and the response I get is unacceptable. I LOVE this little place! Everything is fresh, homemade, and delicious! Until last weekend, my favorite was the amazing caprese panini, but now I think my new favorite is the lobster grilled cheese, which was the daily special. I have been getting ice coffee and cookies/ brownies here for over 12 years. And it's an absolute must for the days you need a boost in life. The turkey avocado is a must have. I really love this place. I almost always get a tuna melt on a wheat wrap -- delicious tuna! But try the soups -- they are fantastic. Killer, and I mean Killer, cookies and brownies. I love the peanut butter cookies, but yesterday I tried an oatmeal with cranberries and it was so good. There must be something special in those cookies.
