Macaroni and Cheese

First thing I had noticed was the clay pottery, beautiful, especially the coffee cup. I had the Blackened Carolina Trout, sampled fried Brussel spouts, BBQ Shrimp and macaroni and cheese. The food was delicious and service was excellent.

Such a hidden gem in the heart of the country. The custom menu offers a perfect blend of something for everyone. Lots of history and right across from the original train car -perfect to let the kids play after a meal or relax in the atmosphere. The service was second to none!

Perfect ambience inside!

Everything was great! Our server was kind, she let us move to a window seat because it was a little chilly where we were sitting by the bar. The window seat was perfect! Next time we'll sit on the porch though because it had nice music playing and seemed a little more slow paced, which is more our style. The wedge salad was delicious and the baked Brie was out of this world! For a drink I had the changes in attitude and it was perfection! For our mains we had the ribeye and the nightly special. The ribeye was perfect. The night special was scallops and beef. The beef wasn't great. The cut just wasn't right. The scallops were the best I've ever had! We got dessert to go and the lemon cake with berries was dreamy. We will be back again soon! Perfect date night spot!

I had a remarkably lovely Sunday brunch at Circa. My waffle was exactly as all waffles should be, with buttery slightly crispy edges and a pillow-y interior. My one qualm, however (which resulted in an entire point deduction), was the dish of artificial syrup served on the side. How a restaurant of Circa's caliber can live with itself and serve anything beside pure maple syrup truly confounds me! I could wax rhapsodic about this topic, but I must move on... The environment is one I would opt to enjoy all of my meals in if I could; soft natural light cascades in through large picture windows and wood furnishings give the place an inviting living-room feel. I sampled the dishes my family ordered (the Cinnamon Roll French Toast & the Eggs Benedict) and both were worthy of praise. We washed down our respective plates with perfect cups of French-pressed coffee. We contemplated sitting in our booth, blissfully full, and waiting for the dinner menus to be brought out, but decided we'd make another occasion out of it, instead. I cannot wait to return!

Lamb pops

My favorite place for the occasional happy hour "dinner". The starters on the menu are all wonderful and large enough to pass for a light but delicious meal. I highly recommend the lamb pops (4 succulent and meaty chops) or the brisket-filled pasta shells, with a to-die-for marinara sauce. Grab a seat at the boisterous bar and get ready to enjoy!

Great, relaxing environment and great food to match. I love the inside of this place, it's just simple and welcoming in the best way possible. The menu seems to be semi-rotational and seasonal, which some people love and some people don't. The burger with pork belly was the show-stopper. If you're a burger enthusiast, this is a must. The pork belly appetizer was also great, it's more of a "hash" with how small the pork belly is diced up and presented. I wish the pieces were a little bigger, it's hard to get everything in one bite. The appetizers were also great, unfortunately the desserts were just a few notches above average. Staff is friendly but hit or miss with attentiveness. All to be said, I will be back and if I had a relative or friend in town who was looking for a nice meal without fighting the tourists, I would take them here.

My friend and I met here Sunday at 12 for Brunch. My first time there and she has been there a couple of times. It's much smaller in person then in the pictures but super cute. our waiter was kind and quirky, I think his name was Allen. We split a cinnamon roll for starters, it was delicious! I don't think I want to split one again if I go back LOL. We both had just the regular drip coffee and I got the traditional eggs benedict and my friend got the steak frites. I love eggs benedict, but my food was extra salty. Both the potatoes and the prosciutto were very salty. It was good overall and I know prosciutto is salty in general but this was like extra salty. I ate everything mostly and just left the prosciutto. I took off one star for that because maybe its just my taste buds. I would like to try them out a second time as they had lots of interesting dishes on the menu. And some pretty cool sounding cocktails.

Ran across this place while roaming around. Cool little place. We visited for lunch on a Sunday, place was busy. Ordered a BLT and a burger. The burger was spot on, the BLT, well I'd pass on it. It had very little bacon,. Who puts a little piece of bacon on a Blt? Well this place did and for this I'd probably not come back. Maybe their dinners are better but I'd assume the portions are small based on how cheap they were with the bacon.

One of the worst dining experiences. We opted to sit at the bar; it was a busy night. We sat for 30 minutes, with no one asking us if we wanted to eat. The bar top in front of us was never cleaned, a waiter did come by, we tried to taste a couple of Sauvignon Blanca, but were told they don't do that (they have in the past), I stopped a waitress to get menus, the bartender said she was too busy to put the NFL game on the TV, or ask if wanted to eat. I finally complained to the owner, Robynne Napier, who told us if we didn't like it, to go. We did.

My husband and I finally made it to Circa. We have been trying to go here for over a year and tonight didn't disappoint! We shared the pork belly appetizer and ordered a couple drinks. I ordered the lobster carbonara and my husband got the shrimp and grits! Both were great entrees and enough for me to take home. Circa use to be a general store that was converted into today's restaurant. The atmosphere is relaxing and our server was very knowledgeable and helpful with us making decisions!

I didn't like the dressing as it was bland and mushy. Not flavorful at all. The green beans were decent. Our counter server was surly and didn't seem happy to be there so they lose a star for that. This spot was busy, even around 11am on a weekday! The staff was hustling to get through the line and we didn't wait long to order. The employees here were friendly and welcoming. We chose to take our food home, but there are tables if you prefer to dine in. Normally, I'd be a little worried about food safety with a cafeteria line. This spot is so busy and fresh food was constantly being put out on the line. It didn't look like any of the food was sitting for long. The meats and sides rotate by the day. The offerings by day are listed on their website. Plates can be ordered as meat only or meat plus one, two, or three sides. Veggies plates are an option. They even have a family meal option. Cobblers and pies are available for dessert. I would rate the food quality and taste at 3/5. The portions are generous for the price which is why I bumped to a 4/5. It's decent enough for a large, cheap meal. The Fried Chicken was good. It's not the best I've had, but good if you want something quick. The Chicken and Dumplings was good, a little on the soupier side. The sides were my favorite part. The Carrot Soufflé was my favorite with a sugary topping. The Squash Casserole had a nice taste. The Mashed Potatoes were creamy and buttery. The Green Beans had a nice texture and taste. Nothing here is going to be heavily seasoned, just simple flavors. The Pecan Pie was really good. I liked the crust and the flavor of the filling. The Banana Pudding was good, but not the best we've had. This is one of the few spots you'll still be able to get inexpensive takeout. A basic meal without breaking the bank!

It is a cute place with a walk up to order and the server brings it to your table. We started with a latte, which was smooth, rich, and the perfect way to kick off the morning. The star of the table right away though was the bonuts--Biscuit Love's famous fried biscuit dough bites. They were warm, fluffy, lightly crispy on the outside, and coated in sugar with a hint of lemon mascarpone for dipping. Basically little pillows of happiness. The mini biscuits & gravy were classic comfort food. The biscuits were soft and buttery, and the gravy was creamy and packed with savory sausage flavor. It's a smaller portion but still incredibly satisfying. And then there was the chronic bacon--thick cut, caramelized with brown sugar and black pepper. Sweet, smoky, and slightly spicy, it's the kind of bacon you keep thinking about long after the meal is over. Everything felt fresh, indulgent, and very "Nashville brunch." The menu is playful but still rooted in traditional Southern flavors. Definitely worth the stop if you're exploring the city and want a memorable breakfast.

When you walk in, you place your order at the counter, grab your number, and find a seat. There's counter seating, several tables inside, or you can head outside where they have a few covered tables. Once seated, they bring your drinks out to you. After we got our drinks, it did take a little while for the food to come out, longer than I expected. Luckily, we had plenty of business to talk about, so the time passed quickly. Then the food arrived, and it was worth the wait! I ordered the Easy Nasty... because that's how I roll! The biscuit was a buttermilk layered-style biscuit, lighter than a traditional Southern biscuit, and it was fantastic. The chicken fingers were lightly battered and cooked perfectly, then topped with cheddar cheese sausage gravy. I added an over-easy egg on top, and breaking that yolk took this dish to a whole new level. Absolutely amazing! We also ordered the Southern Benny, which came with shaved country ham, eggs, and sausage gravy on a biscuit and they loved it. We added a side of cheese grits as well, which were very good. Suggestions, Besides the wait for the food, they were not very attentive to filling your drinks. Also, If you had water they had a self serve station, but it was a disaster. While we were there we watched one kid drop his whole cup of water on the floor, and several adults not turning off the nozzle and let it run. It would be better to have one person stroll the restaurant with a water pitcher. Overall, the food was excellent. If you're in a hurry, this may not be the place to stop, but if you're south of Franklin and looking for a great breakfast spot, this is definitely worth checking out.
