The lunchtime menu is served as a Thali style, all together in small dishes on a larger silver platter. It's a very convenient way to eat because everything is there in front of you. From the Tilapia starter, through the lamb curry and Tarka dahl, everything including the mango dessert was wonderful. Indian beers too. View of the marina is nice too. LED lights and black\chrome fittings are not my thing - I prefer the old back street curry house place. Yes it was a tuesday night, yes there was perhaps 5 other tables taken but I think you can tell when a place cares about its customers and wants to see those customers become regulars. Quick pint at the bar and explanation that one of the guys in our group hadnt had Indian food much so would want a very mild meal. We had usual papad and dips - OK Chicken and Lamb tikka, Dhall soup - very good. Chicken Ceylon (madras style but with more coconut and lots of black pepper) Chicken Passada ( for the newbie) Chicken Rogan 3 rice 2 Naan - 1 stuffed paratha Channa massala , Saag Aloo 6 pints 3 large brandies All very good, plenty of meat, all tasted fresh. Service was great - including ordering a cab for us. Total bill came out at £120 with tip. I thought good value. There are loads of curry houses in Hull but if you are in this area and dont have one recomended to you then you could do a lot worse than the Raj Pavilion.

The menu this evening was a seasonal/Christmas theme which was ok but I much prefer the Italian theme. I love the unique way they choose the menu theme - if you're the first person to book for any particular evening then you get to pick the menu theme. The desserts are always to die for. My favourites are chocolate fudge cake and banoffee pie. A bottle of house wine is £9 or BYO for £1 corkage.
