There were a couple of guys standing there before us, so we waited. I put my order in for some chicken kebabs and salad loaded with lots of everything and anything. The guys were nice too. Oh and a funny side note, as I was getting out a couple quid for our late night snack, a guy who was standing a few feet away asked "Is that a fast pass?" I looked up and said "Sorry??" Turns out the guy just moved to Oxford from San Francisco 2 months earlier! Whaaaaa? He saw my Muni Fast Pass in my wallet which cracked me up! And even more funny is that he lived maybe 10 blocks from me in my neighborhood ... oh man seriously? Do I have to go to another country to find a random person who used to live in the Sunset???? I can't find anyone in San Francisco who lives in the Sunset. Crazy. We chit chatted a bit ... super nice guy. Awesome and totally random to meet a local San Franciscan at a kebab van at 10pm in Oxford! Back to the food ... we arrived home and I dug it. One bite and I was in heaven. I said "This is soooooooooo good" as I had sauce running down my face. Everything was perfect. They were super generous with their portions and this little lady ate it all. If there's anything I miss about England apart from the breakfast are the kebabs at 10pm. Yes, there is good food in England ... it does exist!! Great spot for those late nights staggering home from the pub pissed as hell and you have just a couple quid left in your pocket.

DON'T: get the normal kebabby stuff. DO: get the Gosht curry. The Kofta kebab. The shish. Anything they have to cook. they do this garlic yogurt mint sauce that will blow your salad cream back to the factory it came from. They'll put up with you no matter how drunk you are. Or how sober. NOTE: this is the van just outside of the church OFF of St Aldate's on Pembroke Square. Do NOT go to the dodgy van just outside of CC as you'll... well, things that should be solid, won't. For a while.

Te restaurant is quite small and from the name I thought they would only sell one product but they actually sell a variety or other wheals as well as omelettes. The restaurant looks as though it has recently been refurbishes and is very clean and pleasant to the eye. To be honest we only stopped of here as it was local and quick and convenient. The food was good but it it's by no means a place to go for special occasions or events. I would go again for a quick bite to eat if I was here again. I ordered sausage and chips and the price was very reasonable, the food was very nice

Came in desperate for a fry up after a heavy night out - I'd seen the signs advertising the All Day Full English - 2 for £5.50 or something and it was just what I needed (also it had gone midday and most places stop serving breakfast at 11 - can anyone explain why?). The place was very full, but the staff were friendly, efficient and attentive. The breakfast was good - nice quality sausage and bacon. A nicely runny fried egg, mushrooms, beans, toast and tea or coffee. And at that price it was a bargain. Looking at the other customers they all seemed happy, one even exclaiming (very loudly) upon payment Nice one chef, that was delicious, loved it. The portions looked very good and the food appetising. The eclectic decor was quite cute (one pic of nuns smoking, another of some sort of Mediterranean scene, a third art deco type of a man sitting in a smokey bar) and added to the general surrealty of it all. Great little cafe.

I had a 'real' milkshake but at £3.20 was very overpriced for the drink I actually received, and as such they have now lost our custom! Over price!! 11/4/15 - Oh my hungry visit to Hull today dragged me in here and after ordering went to check in and saw I had previously reviewed! DOH! Well the breakfast sandwich apart from being itemized on the bill different to the menu (overall cost same) was not bad. The coffee also ok. I was also intrigued by the porridge option, so bought it to try, very nice and a great healthy option, see my photo! The environment is a nice cafe... It's cozy, humbly lit, and full of warmth and color, with a beautiful shade of red and streamlined furnishing dominating its decor. The tapas-style menu is perfect for a speedy bite before (or after) a film, but diners and drinkers can also happily lounge for hours. The kitchen is open, and you can watch your meals being prepared. They have an outdoor seating area which is great for socialising. The dishes are simple and traditional, the spicing unpretentious and straightforward but the ingredients are treated so beautifully that the whole of each dish is far greater than the sum of its parts. You can feast on an aromatic wealth of mouthwatering tapas for hours. The chef is warm and approachable, and has, on numerous occasions, explained to customers what the dishes are. A sample of the menu is always on display in a refridgerated unit. The new waitress that was there recently (I suspect this was her first day as she couldn't find anything) left alot to be desired in the customer services department - yelling at the chef (whom I suspect is the owner) in front of customers and not being very pleasent or positively descriptive when customers asked about the menu - but hopefully this will improve or the wait staff will change. Previous visits were not so disappointing. They have a beautiful coffee machine that does amazing cappuccinos, expressos and the rest, all for a reasonable price. The lagers on offer were of a great variety. The wine list left something to be desired, but the house wine seemed to go down well with my friend - who knows a thing or two about reds. The menu is extensive - from Tapas and Pintxo (Pintxo is a small slice of bread upon which an ingredient or mixture of ingredients is put and held there using a stick) to homemade pizzas made with the freshest ingredients. Everything I have had has been incredibly savory and showed the restraint of Spanish cuisine - it has tons of flavor without hitting you over the head with spices. I have tried numerous dishes there, and for the tapas I found the meatballs the best dish. The olives served are proper Spanish olives, and none of that tinned stuff some places give you. I had a pizza there recently that was one the freshest thin crust pizzas I have ever had. They even have a breakfast menu, and cater to vegetarians. Despite living nearby, I have yet to experience Vascos for drinking on an evening, but I suspect that the atmosphere is lively (there is a small stage) and the drinks are flowing.

On this occasion, I had a mozzarella and rocket starter. Would have been better if the plate wasn't covered rocket and had more mozzarella/tomato. For main I had a 'special' pizza, which has salami and prosciutto ham. there was a decent amount of ham but the salami was thin on the ground. When I came to the desserts, I avoided the dessert platter so share like the plague! after our last visit and ordering the afore mentioned dessert, you can't help but feel ripped off! there is barely more on the sharing platter then there was on the dessert plate of someone who had ordered a single portion. The restaurant is nice and clean and has quite a fresh look. The staff are nice but there is one person there, who I'm assuming is a manger of some description as they're in normal clothing, who is over the top with the niceties! to the point that its irritating! generally though, the staff are good and helpful. We have a tastecard so we got bogof on all courses which made the price reasonable. without the tastecard, I personally wouldn't want to go as I feel its over priced. our reservation was for a group of 5 and our waitress had no problem in accepting 2 tastecards for our party and splitting the bill into two. some places can be a bit funny about this.
