I was here about 4 weeks ago with a couple of customers , their recomendation…read more Anybody who has seen my Indian restaurant reviews will know that I am not a fan of the new wave style of Indian places - that is the type shown in the photo on this page. LED lights and black\chrome fittings are not my thing - I prefer the old back street curry house place. Having said all that you will notice the 4 stars, the reason for that is very good food and great service. Yes it was a tuesday night, yes there was perhaps 5 other tables taken but I think you can tell when a place cares about its customers and wants to see those customers become regulars. Quick pint at the bar and explanation that one of the guys in our group hadnt had Indian food much so would want a very mild meal. We had usual papad and dips - OK Chicken and Lamb tikka, Dhall soup - very good. Chicken Ceylon (madras style but with more coconut and lots of black pepper) Chicken Passada ( for the newbie) Chicken Rogan 3 rice 2 Naan - 1 stuffed paratha Channa massala , Saag Aloo 6 pints 3 large brandies All very good, plenty of meat, all tasted fresh. Service was great - including ordering a cab for us. Total bill came out at £120 with tip. I thought good value. There are loads of curry houses in Hull but if you are in this area and dont have one recomended to you then you could do a lot worse than the Raj Pavilion.

We'we been to wings everytime we visit Hull for the last 7 years…read more This time it didn't impress us much. First we were "welcomed" by this grumpy young lady working in the reseption. She really seemed to hate her Job, hate us...Even hate her life atm. When we came down there was alot of empty tables, very few guests and No reservation on any of the tables. Still we were placed in a booth, so we had constantly move in and out of our seats to let eachother to and from the table. The table was sticky and needed to be cleaned. Glasses had lipstick on (non of us 5 was wearing any) and the girl behind the bar didn't even say sorry when went to get New ones...we felt like we annoyed her. Foods was as always good, but the service was poor. Half way in the meal some of the men and woman working there sat down in that "inner circle" to take a breake. Talking loudly, shouting and watching videos on their mobile phones at full volume. With the music already playing in the restaurant it was impossible for us to have a conversation at the table. It was even worst than the sound of a full house. If this is the New standard at wings we aint spending more money there and we aint bringing friends over again.

Visited on the 16th February. Busy place, paid £13.95 pp. We were showed to an unsteady table…read moreplenty of seating area but not a lot of room to move about, although a very good selection of international dishes, I found the food to be bland, the chicken was dry and the batter very crispy, all the curry sauces tasted fine, soft drinks were £2.40 and I was able to refill. I was asked not to waste food, and to leave within 1 1/2 hours which was fine with me. I will not be going back Pete Purchon
