It was lacking in flavor depth and texture was not airy enough; not even top 10-15 I have ever had. The best plain croissant I've tried in Denver is at Reunion Bakery, which is pretty much perfect and exemplifies what I had in Paris. They do have more unique flavors and offerings, but again, none of them blew me away and were actually quite underwhelming. Spinach artichoke croissant and chorizo strada were bland and lacking salt. Cinna-roll and almond croissant were probably the best ones but still nothing to write home about. I found it hard to eat more than 3 bites of anything I got because I did not feel any enjoyment from it and my taste buds were not sufficiently tingled lmao. Maybe I have higher pastry standards coming from San Francisco where there are just so many amazing options, but I think Poulette is a fine neighborhood bakery although not a place anyone should go out of their way for or wait more than 5 minutes for. I went on a Saturday morning at 9am when the wait was around 20-30 minutes. Staff were helpful and nice. Street parking was easy to find. There is limited seating indoors and outdoors.

Bakery!…read moreHelmed by the talented Polina Astafyeva (a seasoned Cake Artist with a passion for all things sweet), BiteIt! creates cakes & desserts that are as beautiful as they are delicious. From the moment I contacted Polina, I knew I was in good hands. She made the entire process, from discussing my vision for the cake & desserts, to picking up the final masterpieces (delivery is also available), so easy. For my sister's baby shower, I had a spring floral theme in mind. Polina listened attentively and translated my vision into a delectable reality. The cake was not only stunning, it was a crowd-pleaser. We had the 'Letter Cake' made with honey biscuits, white chocolate ganache, & berry confit (this is BiteIt!'s most popular flavor, and we can see why). The honey biscuit cake was soft with a crumbly texture (comparable to shortbread cookies, but with a subtle sweetness and floral hint from the honey). The white chocolate ganache had a smooth, sweet, and milky chocolate flavor. The berry confit was a refreshing and tart jam that added a fruity burst to each bite of the cake. Polina also baked up macaron boxes as party favors for each guest - raspberry & mango-lemon (both heavenly, the raspberry was my favorite). This was such a fun way to leave everyone with treats to take home. BiteIt! Bakery made our celebration so much sweeter & I can't wait to order from Polina again in the future!

I decided to pick up a box of various pastries: fruit tarts, cookies, croissants, turnovers, bear claws and a baguette. I arrived at my friends' house knowing they don't really like sweets.. but perhaps they would try some after lunch with some coffee. We cut most of the pastries in fours so we can each get a bite (I have me a sweet tooth...) but to my surprise, they loved every bite!.. and they don't even like sweets! The croissants were buttery and fluffy, the fruit tarts were divine and the baguette was perfect. They were surprised this bakery was right around the corner from their house and insisted on the address as they said they'd want to come back to check the place out. I told them there were lucky to have such an amazing bakery so close to their place. Whenever I'm in the area, I stop in for a treat. One to share, two for me! The employees are always super friendly and helpful too. Definitely a place to check out! It will become a favorite!

This adds the extra touch that other bakery can not add. She says lots of choices and she wasn't kidding. The whole bakery case was filled to the rim, shows casing all of their delicious goodies. Ended up getting salmon quiche from the cold case, almond croissant, very beautiful looking blueberry tart and berry croissant. Came out just below $30. We could had table side service but to-go was our option. I could see bunch of pâtissier working hard in the back. ~~ Now I m loaded with extra carbs ~~ Bon appetite!
