I love this theatre. They sell alcohol and other food than just popcorn and snacks. Also, all of the seats recline and no one can kick their feet on your chair. They also have trays so you can put your food on it. Awesome. The only thing that made me take a star away is that someone let their child repeatedly squeak something during the movie. Maybe the tray attachment? I don't know but it took TWO of us to tell the management before they investigated. It completely ruined parts of the movie for most of us. I told the management that it was ruining my movie and no one offered me any compensation. I paid for a movie and didn't get to watch half of it. But oh well... read more

Loved this theater. The seats are incredibly comfortable with their reclining (or recliner?) features. I always have terrible joint pain after sitting in most theater seats for two hours, but because I can shift and move my position around enough I can actually enjoy a full movie here! Love that you can have a beer or glass of wine while you watch as well. Food selection is limited so we skipped that part. But overall, very much a thumbs up. Oh yeah, and being able to reserve your seating choice is an excellent feature that I loved as well! read more

My husband and I came here on Valentine's Day. I ordered my tickets ahead of time online. I printed them out but still had to wait in line to get our tickets. The theater was rather empty for the movie but it was early in the day. We got great seats. They don't recline or anything like that but they were comfortable which is most important. We also got some popcorn and 2 beers each. I love that they serve beer and wine! I never been to a theater that did so they definitely scored some bonus points with me. They also are not crazy over priced like popcorn and other drinks tend to be. We will be back! read more

Raleigh Grande is the best place to watch movies in Raleigh! They have the new recliner seated theaters for the similar price of movies at any other theater! Some other places who specialize and advertise the reclining seats and dining movie experience is a bit more expensive. I haven't gotten any main dishes, but did get some side dishes -- truffle fries and queso with chips and beers. You get the beer on draft from the worker at the front, but then they give you a buzzer. The buzzer is supposed to go off when the food is brought to the door of the theater you're in. We had a little confusion with it. The buzzer went off, we went out, but nobody was there. They ended up coming with the food minutes later. No biggie though. The food was in plastic bowls that looked fancy and silver plastic silverware. I thought that was a funny touch. Food was average, but I didn't expect to have the best. Eh. Not the worst and not the best. The Pros - They serve beer and wine, which is particularly good for an anxiety case like me, who gets all sorts of worked up over fictional movies. I take full advantage of the beer when I'm about to force myself to watch a terrifying movie. Staff is nice, efficient, etc. They've got some good concession options and om nom nom, who doesn't love movie theatre concessions? I didn't find the seats particularly uncomfortable - but maybe I'm just used to worse ;) It's close to a lot of things in North Raleigh, including Lynwood Grill. Can't wrong there! The Cons - Other reviewers were right - you really can hear through the walls. It's not particularly bad, as most movies are loud, but if you're looking to really enjoy that emotionally draining scene in High School Musical 3, then you'll be really concerned with the explosions next door in Fast & The Furious 8. Another con is the fact that boo, they're not on Fandango! No online ticketing of any sort, so that sucks. And to be honest, I have no idea who owns them. I think they used to be Consolidated Theater group, buuuuut...no idea. As far as I know, they still take all movie passes that you might have gotten from them previously, which is nice, but don't quote me on that. So, basically, if you don't want to sneak airplane bottles into a theater to make it through Scream 11, consider Raleigh Grande a viable option. Went to see Annabelle creations.... first of all it wasn't all that good of a movie. Dragged for 1 1/2 hours with nothing really happening. The last 20 minutes were decent. But this review is about the theater. Comfortable seats, clean, long line at the concession but went reasonably quickly. The big issue I had was that I could hear the music and sounds of the movie in the next theater over. I've never had that happen before in ANY theater. It sucked and was very annoying. read more

It's spring break for the kids... So, I definitely had to find something for the kids to do. I googled movies and ended up here. Here's the meat and potatoes: old theater, plenty of parking spaces, not a lot of patrons... (side notes: The workers at the concession stand made a joke about people actually coming today.). The bathroom had an smell; in which, my niece who's 5 yrs old made a comment about it smelling. (Yikes). Seats in theaters are pretty rooki but don't decline. Watched Star Wars here last night and the seating was amazing. I've never been to a theater with recliners before and they didn't feel cheap either. They were big and comfy leather seats with electronic reclining. It felt like I was watching a movie at home. The picture was very clear. There was some slight debris on the screen that you could see in some scenes but it didn't dampened the experience for me. After watching for a while I eventually didn't notice it at all. The 3D was also very good. The sound was also great. Every sound came through very clear and you could feel every explosion. The only problem I could see happening is there aren't a lot of seating in one theater so you would have to buy your tickets really early. But this is my first time here so it hasn't happened to me yet. Overall a great experience. Would definitely go back. read more

4.5 stars After watching the new Captain America movie here last night, I am very impressed! While the movie experience here is pricier than standard movie theaters, it may be worth it for the comfortable, RECLINING chairs. This theater also makes a great date spot as all of the chairs are in pairs and it separates you a bit from other movie-goers. I mean, you are definitely close enough to hear, see and reach out and touch them if you want, but you don't have to worry about sharing an armrest or being up in each other's space. And for the people in front of you, it's like they aren't even there! The rows are strategically spaced so that you don't have to worry about people blocking your view. Another thing I noticed was that the sound was really good. I don't think I've ever been in a theater that had been as loud as we experienced last night. While we didn't buy any concessions, we did note that they were PRICEY. I've never been much of a fan of buying movie theater concessions anyways. But for those who do buy concessions that take longer to cook, they will give you a buzzer so you can return to your theater. Whenever your food is ready, they'll buzz you and you go outside of your theater to pick it up. While this isn't a huge issue during the previews, once the movie starts it is a bit of an annoyance to your fellow movie-goers. Since the $6 movie tickets on Tuesdays are popular, we bought our tickets online a few days beforehand so that we could make sure to pick out some good seats in the center. They do charge a "convenience fee" to buy your tickets online, but I figured it was better than risking not getting 2 seats together or seats that were on the end. Love this theater, and we will be back! It has all the comforts of watching a movie at home, but with the big screen experience. read more

Came in Friday night you have the ticket booths outside they recommend to buy on line. They have reserved seats with wide reclining seats (electronic) and swivel tables. Going in you have menus or you can just ask the cashier what's available. They have pizza and chicken tenders and a huge classy bowl of Chips and cheese the usually popcorn and a plus is an available beer selection. The place is contemporary and people are nice. I wish we had more theaters like Raleigh 16 in NYC! They offer good prices and friendly ticket window/taker staff. My concessions girl was seriously lacking in the enthusiasm and personality departments, as well as a rag to clean up her counter. But she was efficient. The variety at the concessions stand is quite nice, particularly the options for gourmet pre-packaged popcorn and special flavorings for the freshly popped. The main hallways and theaters could have been more clean. There were definitely crumbs and small debris in the hallways and the theater itself suffered from sticky floor syndrome. But they also seemed to only have one staffer on duty to attend to the entire building. One man can only work so quickly. The stadium seating was nice. And the sound was properly balanced! There were only four people total in our theater and we were all very comfortable; i.e. Raleigh 16 doesn't blast the sound in hopes that bodies will provide acoustic cushioning. Overall, Raleigh 16 gives a very modern, almost metropolitan experience in a city that has a lot of old school charm. It's nice to have both options in one city. To be fair, I don't know the other theaters in the area. But I definitely recommend this location! read more

This location has comfortable leather recliner seats. All the rows have their own section so you can see the screen without someone's head blocking you. There's also extra space which was nice! The seats have a little table attached that's a perfect fit for the snacks. If you buy tickets online you can choose your seat and row. The staff was friendly and the bathroom was clean. This theater is farther away from my house but I will be going to this one more often because of how comfortable the seats were! They also offer more food options and give you a little pager that lights up when your food is ready. read more

Raleigh Grande 16 is a theaters of the 21st century. The parking lot is huge, very accommodating for opening weekends. The ticket prices are comparable to regular AMC or Regal theaters. They don't seem to have many popcorn/drink combos, and their portions aren't the typical megasized movie theater kind but the price sure is. The seating in the auditoriums are assigned, so I recommend buying your tickets online before going so you can get your ideal seats. The leather reclining chairs are just so luxurious, and I love going to theaters with this kind of seating. It makes the movie viewing experience completely different. You just feel so relaxed and comfortable, you can forget how much you spent at the concessions stand. Tip: Go on Tuesdays. 2D showings are $6 and 3D are $10. read more

Wow!! After moving away from the Raleigh area, I knew I wasn't going to the Wakefield movie theater because as a former 13 year old, I know exactly the kind of behavior that transpired there. Plus when I lived outside of DC there were quite a few movie theaters my husband and I frequented that had the recliner seating. The one we went to most often lacked the recliners but had $6 Tuesday's. This place definitely tops the places we've been to. The seating has tables and they serve decent food. Some of the poor reviews on here I'm going to just chalk up to one bad experience. I saw the jungle book with my husband on our Friday night date and we both loved it! Last week I contacted the corporate office regarding the "Special Needs" seats. My son is Visually Impaired and when we went to see Black Panther he couldn't see because the Special needs seats were filled with at least one couple who had ZERO disabilities. I know, I asked. So I booked the seats and sent a note to say why I booked them. Best movie experience in Raleigh. After recent renovations, this theater brings Raleigh's movie experience into 2016. The electric reclining seats extend into a position similar to a pool deck chair with a moveable tray. How luxurious! To top it all off, the theater was extremely clean and orderly. Craft beer and wine on the menu along with sandwiches, pizzas and salads on top of the regular movie theater indulgences. Buy your tickets early because you have to reserve seat. I actually really enjoy watching movies at the Raleigh Grande. Yes, the theatre itself is getting a bit old. You can see it in the details- the beat-up toilet seats, the thinning carpets. However, I've never had any problems in the audio/projection/AC departments, so that doesn't detract from my enjoyment of the films. Ticket prices are average; not much more or less expensive than other local theatres. I mean, there's Blue Ridge if you want to get rained on through the holes in the roof to save $5 per ticket.. feel free. The staff has always been chatty and friendly with me, perhaps because I go to movies exclusively off-hours (no Fridays or weekends for me). They usually just tear tickets at the concessions counter rather than having a staff member hang out in the lobby. I have been to a few theatres where I just got a bad vibe off the ticket-taker acting like they're guarding Fort Knox or something, rooting through my purse looking for smuggled candy or whatever! The Raleigh Grande is more relaxed. I love that you can get beer or a glass of wine. The portions may be smaller, but a 12-oz cup of bottled Coors Lite for $3 is nowhere near the markup of paying $7 for a "small" bag of popcorn, so I'm not gonna complain about that. Wine is in the $4-6 range. They also have "gourmet" popcorn, a good variety of candy, and slushy machine. Basically, everything you need to enjoy a movie, and with 16 screens, they have a wide selection. I also like that they have later start times (9:30-10pm) on weeknights than some other theatres. read more

This is the theater that is closest to our apartment and in the past 3 weeks since we have moved to Raleigh we have already seen a couple of movies there. The theater is usually quiet, except when there is a heat wave, then it is packed! Usually we try to only go during matinee hours, to try to save a bit on ticket costs. The theater has a good selection of snacks, drinks, and beer. The decor is a little worn, some of the theater seats are torn and you can hear the audio of the movie next door through the walls, but it's not horrendous. My one complaint is that there is no customer loyalty program. I was a big fan of using my Regal Crown Club rewards card since we go to the movies so often. A free movie or small popcorn now and then is my favorite motivator to be a regular patron. read more

I live in WAKE FOREST and have multiple theatres choices along the way to Raleigh Grande. I discovered this theatre about 3 years ago and haven't bothered to waste my money anywhere else. I love the Tuesday pricing all day, the early bird ticket pricing, even the matinee & general admin pricing. Concessions are always high, but these are a bit better than others and the food choices along with grabbing a beer should you so choose are great. The Grande has the best seating of any movie theater in the Triangle. The seats are big, cushy recliners. The new CineBowl has similar looking seats, also vey comfy, but the Grande's seats actually recline with a raised foot rest. This means fewer seats per theater, so movies fill up and sell out faster and more often. The seats are reserved, and you can order online for just a $1 surcharge per ticket, so it can pay to book ahead. The menu is better than most movie theaters, with items like pizza, pita bread with hummus, and beer. The screens and projection are very good. When the Grande opened (about 1994?), it was the first movie theater in the Triangle with stadium seating. Now it sets the standard once again. read more

Being I just moved to North Carolina in March this was the first theatre I have been to in months. From the outside I was like oh it looks nice and how convenient it's right around the corner. Then when entering I said oh this is like the ones we have at home we have to bring the kids here. Well that was all until my cousin tapped me to show me a large roach crawling on the ledge infront of her seat. To top it off towards the end of the movie I see a shadow on my leg so I reach for my phone to hit the flash light and before I could I feel something crawling on my arm I lost it and couldn't even enjoy the last of the movie because I jumped up and would not sit back down. When brought to the managers attention he gave us free passes to come back but than my cousin asked the million dollar question " Have you had other guests complain about the problem before?" Thought all the changes to restaurant food and reduction of seats, etc was a disaster! Brussel Sprouts in a movie theatre! I love 'em ,but the smell, yuchh! My wife and I arrive 15-20 min early as we do for most movies and have never had a problem getting a seat, now, stuck in 1st row on Sat matinee, 15 min to order popcorn as the group in front hasn't eaten in 6 months and ordering their next 3 meals, and after they are all done and paid for, "oh, and can we get some popcorn?" Ughhh!! I get we will have to order seating onliine now, but taking the seating from 50-60 seats to 20?? No thanks read more
