This is an expansive cinema tucked behind 15- 501 Durham NC offering several movie choices. I went to see Xinga Turtle with family but was overcome by blistering heat to get inside.I must say the staff & manager were exceptionally kind & caring. The young lady bought a ginger ale to me & the the guy -the manager was so kind. I know I frightened them As well as my family. The young lady was going to try to wheel chair. This is exceptional customer service. From what I saw- this is a pristine cinema well thought of and planned but it's a lot of walking - I look forward to coming again when the weather is cooler.

This Newly Renovated Luxury Style Movie Theater & Lounge Has Several Different Features That It Offers. As You First Walk Inside The Venue; To Your Left, They Have A Full Service & Open Bar / Lounge For You to Hang Out Prior or After Your Viewing. To Your Right, There are Several Kiosks; In Which, You Will Have To Use To Choose Which Movie You Will Be Viewing. Further Ahead, Is The Concession Stand Which Also Allows You to Have The Option to Deliver Food to Your Theater Setting via App. This Venue is For Those Who Have Families; and or, Date Night Setting. Inside the Theater, They Have Reclining Chairs For the Comfort of Your Enjoyment. And Like Any Other Theater The Only Downside is That The Concessions Items Are Overpriced. This is a great theater that is clean, has comfy chairs, and offers student discount! I do prefer AMC because of my A List pass BUT what keeps me coming here from time to time is the PRETZEL BITES WITH THE BEER CHEESE. Are they overpriced? Yes. But so is everything at the theater. Come for the beer cheese, stay for the movie.

I ordered my movie ticket online the same day so I could get a seat next to my friend who had already gotten tickets earlier. I like how easy it is to order tix online. When I checked seat availability, there were only a handful that were already taken. I thought it would have been more packed for the opening night of Avatar. The seats are big but don't recline. It got very warm in the room, which is unusual to me since I'm usually freezing in movie theaters. I was literally sweating! I would say wear layers so you can take off layers if it's too hot. I would much prefer it to be on the colder side as I can bring a jacket and bundle up. I ordered popcorn and a cocktail. They just need to scan your ticket if you want food/drinks delivered to your seat. I thought that was a nice perk so you don't have to carry everything. Movie theater popcorn is always good. The raspberry lemon drop was such a cute cocktail but could have used more vodka. We ordered a 2nd round of drinks at 11pm. 45 minutes later, no drinks had come. After waiting for an hour, my friend went to the concessions to check on it but there was literally no one out there. After the movie ended, there was no one out front but we were able to flag down a janitor and ask to speak to a manager. When the manager came downstairs, I asked if there was a cut off for service and he said 30 minutes after the last movie time starts. Our movie started at 10:10pm which means cut off was 10:40pm. It would have been helpful if the employee that had taken our order had mentioned that to us or if they had a sign at the concessions. Also, they should have their system prevent orders from going through on the app/website. The manager mentioned that their system essentially cuts off automatically so they can't see orders coming through. Well if that's the case, the ordering should also be cut off automatically. He also stated that because our movie ran into the next day, he couldn't pull up the order in the system so he had to manually refund my friend from checking her electronic receipt. I also checked the website and in the FAQ section, it actually states service is available through the first hour of the movie. I'm betting this probably happens a lot which is why I'm surprised their system doesn't prevent orders from going through if they stop service at a certain time. So FYI, if you go to the last showing time, make sure you order everything you want before heading to your seat. This would not be my first choice for a movie theater in the triangle.

I strongly recommend wearing ear plugs if you're going to see Mission Impossible. The volume in Theater 11 was way too high.

I am not sure if they played previews or not but I don't think they did. The first thing I noticed when I walked in was that it was HOT! Like, wow. It was a fairly nice day. It seemed hotter in the actual theater. The prices of popcorn wasn't bad at all. My brother and I both got an XL popcorn for $6 each. To be honest, it's like a large at other places. We both got a large drink that was $5. My son wanted a water, so I got him a bottled water, which was $2. They ran out of butter, so I could t get any. The popcorn was okay. It definitely wasn't fresh, lol. But I can't expect much from a vintage movie theater. This establishment only has one theater room. There is an entrance on both sides of the concession stand and an emergency exit to the left of the screen. We ended up having to sit in the 3-4th row from the front as everything else was pretty much taken. It seemed that most of the crowd were students from UNC-CH. we enjoyed the movie! Besides the lack of temperature control, it wasn't a bad experience. I would return again if I was in the area. I only came here because it was cheap halfway spot between where I live in Greensboro and where my brother lives in Clayton.

If you love live music but aren't a fan of huge crowds and overpriced everything, this theater is a total gem. First off, the vibe here is just cool and intimate. It's one of those places where, even if you're sitting a bit farther back, you still feel close to the action. The acoustics were great, every note and every lyric was super clear, which really made the performance feel special. Muscadine Bloodline killed it, by the way! One thing I really appreciated: the whole experience felt easy and relaxed. Getting there was a breeze and there's a parking garage directly across the street, so no crazy searches for a spot or long walks in the cold/rain/heat. You can literally be inside the theater within minutes of parking. Inside, the concessions were surprisingly reasonable. I was bracing myself to pay $20 for a beer like most venues, but nope, drinks and snacks were actually affordable. It's a little thing, but it made the night even better. Being able to sit for the show was also huge for me. The seats were comfortable, with a good view from just about anywhere. I loved not having to stand the whole time or jockey for space. It's honestly the perfect size, big enough for a killer crowd atmosphere, but small enough that it's not overwhelming. All in all, the Carolina Theatre just nails it for live shows.
