Went to see Le Mis with my daughter there after Christmas. First time back there in almost a year. Last time there, was awful: I always use the lobby restroom (cleanest there! The ones in the hall are always filthy) after our movie that night, the usher refused to let me use the lobby restroom. He had it roped off. He was very rude and when I tried to speak to the manager about it, the usher spoke over me and was again rude. The manager didn't seem to care and I left mad never wanting to return. I emailed the manager and never heard back from her. When my daughter and I were there last week, they were still roping off the lobby so no one could use the lobby restroom. The staff behind the concessions are rude also. We have given this theater a lot of business over the years and should not be treated this rudely! Will not be back.

Before going into the gritty it is apparent that this cinema is dying with the mall. Where other cinemas are growing north gate seems to lack. Upon arriving there was no one to greet guests. This left one to believe tickets were purchased within. We entered into the literally empty lobby to hear an employee yell across for us to go back to the ticket area and someone will arrive soon. There we waited two more minutes and were greeted by a very tired employee whom really did not want to be working. We purchased our tickets and proceeded down the large vacant hall to our theater which was like a ghost town movie. The second leg of our journey was to find at least one in-ripped chair but to our dismay there were none to be found. Yes the chairs were very comfy but lacked the clean up kept feeling. It so obvious that this theater had the potential to be greater but needed very costly repairs and upgrades to their equipment. Even the projector needed to be replaced since the imagery was spotty. As for the sound its acoustics were stuck in the early 90s. Perhaps the drive-in would be better or Wakefields cinema.

This is what you get when you come to this theater. Cant wait until they level this mall and theater.

If you love live music but aren't a fan of huge crowds and overpriced everything, this theater is a total gem. First off, the vibe here is just cool and intimate. It's one of those places where, even if you're sitting a bit farther back, you still feel close to the action. The acoustics were great, every note and every lyric was super clear, which really made the performance feel special. Muscadine Bloodline killed it, by the way! One thing I really appreciated: the whole experience felt easy and relaxed. Getting there was a breeze and there's a parking garage directly across the street, so no crazy searches for a spot or long walks in the cold/rain/heat. You can literally be inside the theater within minutes of parking. Inside, the concessions were surprisingly reasonable. I was bracing myself to pay $20 for a beer like most venues, but nope, drinks and snacks were actually affordable. It's a little thing, but it made the night even better. Being able to sit for the show was also huge for me. The seats were comfortable, with a good view from just about anywhere. I loved not having to stand the whole time or jockey for space. It's honestly the perfect size, big enough for a killer crowd atmosphere, but small enough that it's not overwhelming. All in all, the Carolina Theatre just nails it for live shows. Great music, chill atmosphere, reasonable prices, and zero hassle. Can't wait to catch another concert here!

While I love that movie, and generally the shared reaction from the crowd is what I love about the movie going experience, these people laughed WAY too hard at bits that had already been done a bunch throughout the movie. I think it was because they really wanted to have a good time, so they laughed harder than was warranted. That isn't the worst crime but just to give you an idea of the people who I assume frequent this establishment. Mhm: -old -pretty -weird stuff to see -solid move going experience Mm-Mm: -the shallowest steps I may have ever encountered inside the actual theatre (where it's dark) -I remember the concessions being kinda disappointing but nothing in particular -overzealous crowd -atrocious parking

Review updated since the summer flood of 2025…read more Pro tips: The restrooms downstairs are the ones to avoid, always use the upstairs bathrooms especially for those #2s. Always order your concessions through the app for delivery to your seat. Waiting in line for concessions is a rookie move for chumps. Make sure to use the free rewards program if you go often. Parking is a cluster-F lately, if there's a big release out make sure to arrive early because you could be circling for 30 minutes. On to the updated review. I do love this theater and it's to great that they are back open after the flooding that occurred in the area of June 2025. The Theater is back open with a lot of new carpet and updates since the flooding occurred. I go to a lot of movies so I've fallen off going to Silverspot as much as I used to since AMC's A-List pass financially makes more sense for me, and AMC's parking is so much better, which brings me to the primary issue with Silverspot lately. Their parking is absolutely abysmal. Silverspot shares a lot with all the other restaurants at University Mall and parking is an absolute poop-show. While I love ordering my popcorn and drink for delivery to my seat, often times you'll spend 30 minutes circling for parking that you miss your order being delivered to your seat so once you are seated you have to get up and go to the concession counter and track down your order and hopefully you don't miss the beginning of the flick. I get it, the parking lot is a problem caused by the mall owners, not Silverpsot as a theater or company but given the load of trailers and advertisements most people know to roll into a movie 20 minutes late, but having to plan ahead of time that parking might be an absolute battle stinks. As a movie theater Silverspot continues to have a great selection of movies week-after-week. Their popcorn is some of the best in the area along with their fountain drinks that are calibrated to perfection most of the time. I honestly get tired of the Freestyle machines and just want to be served a diet coke sometimes. I do wish they would have a paid rewards program like AMC A-List for people that come to a lot of movies often. Their free rewards program is nice but the A-List pass is such a better value if you go multiple times a week. Shout-out to Maria who takes the tickets, she rules along with William who works in concessions, he also rules. Give those people a raise. I still love this theater, a full star deduction for the ongoing mess that is the parking situation, but as it stands its still one of the best theaters in the area.

Honestly we stopped coming here because of the parking situation. Not Silverspot's fault at all,…read morebut I felt the need to warn the good people of yelp. At AMC Southpoint you have the whole mall to park at, and they're not cramming random apartments in the parking lot, so I'd recommend going there.

Last week, I brought my 5-year-old son to see The Super Mario Bros. Movie. He is on the autism spectrum and was doing what, for him, is actually amazing engaging with the movie, enjoying himself, and yes, clapping intermittently out of excitement. Anyone who parents a child with autism knows moments like that are victories. Unfortunately, someone in the theater complained. As a parent, that moment can feel isolating and disheartening, especially in a theater full of children watching a kid's movie. But what happened next completely changed the experience. Two managers, Brittany and Layla, approached us with kindness, patience, and genuine compassion. Instead of making us feel uncomfortable or unwelcome, they supported us. They offered to move us to another area of the theater to make things easier, and they went above and beyond by giving my son additional snacks and water so he could stay regulated and continue enjoying the movie. Their approach was not just professional, it was deeply human. We are longtime Regal members, and this experience reminded me why. Inclusion is not just a word, it's action. Brittany and Layla demonstrated what it looks like to create a space where all families, including those with neurodiverse children, feel seen, respected, and welcomed. Because of them, what could have been a painful experience turned into a meaningful one that I will not forget. Thank you, Regal, for having staff who lead with empathy.
