I wish I could say that I've had worse, but I honestly do not think I can. The hashbrowns were so crispy felt like I broke a tooth and they were cold. The only thing they had to cook that wasn't frozen was probably my pancakes and they were not cooked all the way. And the bathroom was so very very dirty I would def not go there read more

Owner Cindy was rude. No customer service. No greeting. Pancakes undercook, still doughy. Eggs had a weird taste. There were a few onions in the scramble eggs. First and last for me. Homie and dirty. Unwelcome. read more

Love this little breakfast place. The food is all homemade and the waitstaff are very nice. It's a little different having paper signs on the wall for menus, but nonetheless they took care of our party of 9 with ease! read more

Cindy's Kitchen - American Near Me - Belle Plaine, Minnesota

Awesome small town restaurant! It seems to be well used by the locals on an early Saturday morning. This is always a good sign - where do the locals go to eat? Stop in for a great meal morning until early afternoon. Food was delicious and service very good. read more

We are not demanding and tip well, very appreciative of the food service industry having worked it ourselves. There is no need to take this with a grain of salt, this was the single worst dining experience. The greeting was nice, all went to hell after that. The young waitress is lacking proper training, no enthusiasm and is fumbling around like a baby deer. Took our drink order and had trouble figuring out how to get them placed on the table, simple server stuff. That was about 5 minutes after our seating at which time in rambles 3 more patrons, 5 minutes later their order is being taken and we are sitting there dumbfounded but the pictures looked like it was going to be good food so we painfully waited it out. Boy I wish we woudl have changed our mind about that! I know that at some pont in dining out with others there is bound to be one person that is going to be unsastisfied with a meal, it is a given. NEVER have I ever ever ever sat at a table where 4 people all agreed the food was disgusting and barely ate half the meal. Just due to the nature of the already bad experience I lied to my group saying oh yeah, its good. After a bit (maybe due to the fact that the waitress hadn't so much as looked at our table most of the time we were there) I could not hold my tongue and conceded the food was horrible. I think everyone was doing the same thing becaus right then, most everyone quit eating their food. Because I try to be polite, I have never actually told an establishment that their food was horrible, that changed today and I do not feel the least bit bad about it. Chicken fried "steak" with some green nasty gravy?!?!? Scrambled eggs had to have come from a carton, they were horrible and how do you make bad scrambled eggs? I have dehydrated boxed hasbrowns at home for when I am feeling lazy, they have them as a regular part of their offering and at that, they must have thoguht they were feeding a two year old with that meager portion size. How do you screw up an english muffin? I am not sure but they will show you how. This is a mean bashing review and well deserved, if you do not know that your food and service is that bad, you oughta be in a different business. I paid because I had to, even after telling the waitress the food was horrible, no offer of making it right. I hope this was a bad day for them, if not there will be a building for sale sometime in the future. read more

Food is mediocre and overpriced for what you get - CUSTOMER SERVICE IS HORRIBLE- you ask for something and they acted like it was the end of the world and the place wasn't crowded?? Did not feel welcomed here at all even on entrance I felt like I was imposing- what a miserable place read more

Absolutely TERRIBLE food. Do not come to this restaurant unless you like eating overpriced garbage. Cindy does an absolutely horrible job of cooking, and I'm convinced that most young children could do better. This is not an overly critical review; it's the truth. The only reason I can think of as to why there are any positive reviews is that the people of Belle Plaine (I am a resident as of last June) who frequent Cindy's Kitchen have never gotten out of this small town to try decent food. The only positive thing about this place is the two high school boys waiting tables did a pretty good job at that. The pancakes first came out white, raw and full of batter. After sending them back, they came out almost white again, but somehow not as raw. They smelled and tasted of flour and not much else. The hash browns were stale, soggy and hard at the same time. The eggs were bland and even the hot sauce packets were expired and tasted like a cupboard. My four and two year olds didn't even like the food, and that's saying something. I'm not sure how Cindy has stayed in business this long other than for the reason I mentioned above. The worse part about the whole experience was how expensive everything was. Paying $41 for 3 horrible meals was very hard to stomach. I sincerely hope this place goes out of business, because it is a nice location and something decent deserves to be there. Likely Cindy has heirs that will take the place over though, so this is wishful thinking. If you're thinking you could open a restaurant that's better, you're probably right. It wouldn't take much. read more

We came for a weekend breakfast and hardly touched our meals. Food was not good and eggs had a sour taste when asked how the food was we notified waitress who responded with "okay?" and walked away. Paid and left promptly after waiting 50 minutes for our food that was untouched. 1 person at our table was given a refill and the rest of us were just left to sip on ice cubes. Would not recommend anything on our table. read more

Perfect old timey home-cooked greasy spoon... stopped for a hearty breakfast before our long drive to Rapid City, SD. The husband and wife owners cook and serve the basic fare and do so with a smile... While not modern and fancy, they have a loyal clientele and serve fresh fare - I was able to have my eggs with a side of veggies so not a health food stop, it is possible to get something other than biscuits and gravy and they even sell cules from their garden, 3 for $2 - you can't beat it! read more

After driving by Cindy's multiple times and noticing very few cars in the parking lot I have to admit we were a little skeptical but decided to try it anyway .As we stepped in we noticed 2 things , small yet kind of cozy and a pretty bland and somewhat outdated country theme .I had the Mexican omelette and my wife had the egg special .Both were surprisingly very good with nice size portions .Our waitress needed a crash course in how to deal with the public as she seemed to be quite disinterested and barely said a word to us .Better training for most involved would make Cindy's a great place to eat .We will give it another try but not anytime soon . read more

We stopped here on our morning adventure and were excited to try. We did not get a warm welcome from the staff/waiter. There was a limited menu, likely due to covid. We understand the challenges of today's world but the bacon was still oinking and very undercooked. Meal was bland and overall just under impressed. Perhaps it was an off day but we were bummed with our experience. Next time we will try wampucks read more

we love this place stop in every time we go to southern mn. cindy's never disappoints!

Stopped for breakfast. Service was friendly, coffee was good and hot. Had two eggs, hash browns, really good thick cut bacon and rye toast. Pretty standard diner food with friendly attentive service. Worth a try. read more

Finally had an opportunity to stop in being that their hours of operation are only during breakfast and lunch. Ordered a cali burger w a side salad and my boyfriend had the 2-2-2 special. The hamburger was $5 and the side salad was 3; the burger was ok but I had to scrape off at least a tbsp of mayo and at the last minute they told me they don't have blue cheese dressing so opted for the ranch which was gross so the salad wasn't eaten. My bfs hashbrowns weren't cooked enough, the syrup for his pancakes were in pre packaged containers like what you'd get at McDonald's but he said the bacon was good. Coffee was old and burnt tasting. The owner was a sweet older gent. Definitely a mom n pop shop so was hesitant to yelp this but after spending over $30 on a meal that we wished we had spent at Emma Krumbees I felt I should throw the warning out there. I was really hoping we would find a gem in town but unfortunately we will probably never go back. read more

I had lunch at Cindy's earlier this week. This is truly a Mom & Pop shop. Mom took our order, and we paid Pop on the way out. The food was good. The service was fast and friendly. It's a good little place to stop for lunch. read more
