After driving past this establishment for so many months my husband & I finally made a trip back out to Lonsdale to check it out. I am a HUGEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE fan of ribs + coleslaw and I was very excited to try this place since we had been craving BBQ all winter. I got the combo meal with creamy coleslaw & 1/3 rack of baby back ribs. I personally like my ribs as is but I did order a side of the homemade BBQ on the side. The sauce tastes similar to a ketchup than a BBQ sauce to me & the coleslaw was definitely creamy but missing flavor which was a huge bummer. I give the slaw a solid 6/10. I am glad the menu specified that the ribs were competition style & not fall off the bone. They had a nice layer of crunch to them which I honestly didn't mind, it was a section that gave me the same texture of jerky. Overall the ribs were pretty flavorful & had some juiciness to them but not as much as I had hoped for. ~ A solid 7/10 for me. Service was very friendly and tentative. We arrived between two large parties but still were checked on pretty consistently, which was nice. They have a large variety of on tap beer & cocktail list, so weather you are looking to have some appetizers & drinks, lunch or dinner they have it all! My husband & I also ordered some FRICKLES! oh man were those so easy to munch on! They were light, flavorful & crispy. I loved that they did not feel heavy or greasy at all. We made the drive south specifically to try Smoke after seeing a review on social media. We opted to split the three meat combo meal with Mac n cheese. The brisket has a beautiful smoke ring and was tender. The pulled pork was flavorful and provided some of the crispy edges. The barbecue sauce was the perfect pairing with the meat. The ribs were not as tender as we hoped, but still had good flavor. I'd give it a five, but both we and the table next to us had additional billing questions when we received our checks. read more

We stopped in here on a Sunday afternoon, it was not busy (apparently a great time to stop for food!) so we were able to grab a booth right away and order quickly. We ordered a brisket sandwich with chips and the parmesan crusted burger with fries. The brisket was ok 9/10, you didn't really notice the sautéed onions and mushrooms, the chips that came with it were burnt. The burger was spectacular, the parmesan crusting on the bread the burger was served on was amazing, and the complete flavor complex was downright delicious (10/10 for sure!)! The fries and sauce were good. The place is decorated cute in a way you'd expect a BBQ joint to be. There isn't tons of indoor seating or parking, so I can imagine it's a bit hectic when it's busy. After breaking my ankle I couldn't go to the restaurant so I ordered from door dash. Although it took a little bit longer it was so very delicious. I ordered the 3 entree choice with fries. Everything was delicious especially the pastrami ,but all was fabulous.. I called and talked to Alexis who said she would get it to my residence soon, very pleasant on the phone and I thank you also. A very limited menu and had ordered 2 meals for carry-out. While the meat was pretty good, the fries were not. What was so disappointing was that when I arrived to pick up the order the staff acted very flustered, belittled and ridiculed me in front of other customers because paid cash for the carry-out meals. For some reason they do not know how to handle cash and only want credit cards. They did finally take the cash but charged me a credit card fee anyway. read more

Was told the beer selection was quite impressive. Bellied up to the bar and saw 8 on tap on the chalkboard. Good choices for sure, but thought there would be more. Looked to the left and saw the Untappd Board which has their can and bottle selection. Jackpot! Staff was super friendly and helpful. I went with two items on special. Pasta Bolognese and Pork Wonton Soup. Both were dynamite! The building they are in is pretty small. Starting to regret writing this review. Want to keep it to myself. A friend recommended the place so we stopped by on a Thursday evening. It was packed. Barely had seating for us and they were shorthanded, so service was a bit slow. But the crowd thinned out, our order arrived (mine wasn't quite right, so they had to fix it... Which they did) and we dug in. At this point, I was thinking 3 stars max... But I hadn't tasted the food. And wow. The food. Was. Awesome. I had a pulled pork sandwich, my buddy had brisket and my other buddy has pork belly (special of the day)... And we couldn't stop raving. Everything was juicy, tasty and fabulous, including the perfectly cooked tater tots. Then, the service cranked up, and our waitress, Jordan, interacted with us a bit more and had some great tips (supposedly the ribs are awesome, but none of us ordered ribs - so we will be back). The beers on tap were excellent too - I had a Stout that was spectacular. Can't say enough good about this place. Yes, it's a drive... And worth every Mile!!! read more

It is small and a little crowded but there is outdoor seating. Great customer service. The restaurant had only a small amount of patrons when we first arrived. However, it was soon a packed house after we were seated for awhile. This is one of the best restaurants that I've been to in awhile. I ordered their pulled chicken sandwich Buffalo style. It had bleu cheese & Buffalo sauce on it. My wife ordered their pulled pork sandwich. The tater tots have a wonderful seasoning on them. They were fried to a perfect golden crisp. My husband and I ordered the rosemary burnt ends to start. My husband loved them! They were ok to me. For dinner my husband got a full rack of ribs and tots. The ribs were very dry and almost inedible. The backing of the ribs were still on as well. The tots and sour cream were amazing. Will be back for those! The brisket sandwich was great. Cornbread was awful. Do not get it. Super dry and not flavorful. Overall pretty good. 100% won't get the ribs again though. Hope to try the pulled pork since many people say that's good! read more

I wanted to take my husband to a barbeque place for his birthday. We had heard about Smoke so we went there on a nice Saturday. So glad we did! OMG, my hubby said he had such a special birthday because of Smoke! The ribs were just perfect (crispy on the outside and tender inside), the brisket was superior, and the pulled pork combined with the mustard-based sauce was an ideal combination of tastes. Our craft beers were very good (and I usually don't drink beer). And I almost forgot...the birthday brownie and ice cream finished off the meal so well. Tasty as all get-out. The owners are very congenial and happy to serve their guests. Alexis didn't tire of our questions and was an excellent server. We felt right at home and in fact felt like we WERE at home. Wow. Just opened Smoke did not disappoint. While my rule is to not order seafood at a bbq place I went with the Smoked Salmon platter served with homemade "everything" chips...Seriously the most amazing thing to touch my lips other than my babies faces. The Red Pepper bisque was so flavorful. Others had ribs and brisket and it was tender and fell off the bone. Great with their homemade bbq sauce. Even if you are not a beer drinker, try one of their many options from local breweries (they have regular beers too). So many unique flavors and this small business supports other small business. If I could give this place 6 STARS, I WOULD! We called them to set up our fantasy football champions dinner and they immediately worked with us to come up with a menu. When we arrived the were excited to see us and helped everyone decide on a beer. They then started our 6 course dinner. We had thick cut bacon, chicken wings with ALL the sauces, ribs, special ordered Australian Waygu sirloin steaks, cheesy hash browns, and brisket. It was all SO AMAZING! On Saturday the 8th of January 2022 I went to smoke and this wasn't the first time I had been there. I'd say that this place is a hit or miss. I got the rosemary burnt ends and I only had two decent pieces. The other eight were just full of fat, no meat. To keep things on the positive side, the waitstaff was friendly, and the tator tots we alright. I wouldn't recommend driving far to go here. For some reason the menu is really geared around mushrooms for the entrees and the waiter said we are not allowed to exclude them in the order unless we drop the onions too, which was frustrating. For a place that seems like a BBQ place, it's weird they don't have "a meat plate." No real sauces or rubs under their own label that I saw.
