Imminent brewing was a fun place to visit twice during our stay in Northfield, MN. The quiet college town has a few brew pubs, but we chose Imminent. It has a lot of indoor and outdoor seating with food trucks each night. The service from Katie and Tom was great! We close some great beers for our taste! We tried the Momo Himalayan food truck which supplied Asian dumplings. It was a great visit, and we played board games. The beers we chose were perfect for us....I really liked the honey basil ale and my husband liked the Vaya con dios sour. While it took a moment to find this place at first (directions directed us to Fifth St. while this brewery is tucked behind the tattoo parlor off Division), we're glad we took a stroll around the block to quench our thirst on such a lovely, warm day! When asking a question, the bartender was very helpful, thorough and knowledgeable. They have free wifi, clean bathrooms, cool merch and plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Both the stout and porter were really good! The stout is down the middle straight up solidness. The porter has a nice ale color and soft richness of a more subtle porter and the free-spirit of summer. It's Friday late afternoon and there's a pizza food truck outside which is always a plus! I tried to go here one weekend afternoon. Probably sat in front of the armory a good 20 minutes making sure my GPS was correct. The building says it's an armory... NOTHING about a brewery...as I looked up and down the street to see if I had the address wrong? About to give up, I drove around the corner, by the grocery store... well....look at that!! The brewery!!! The street parking was taken and there wasn't a sign saying I couldn't... I parked in a closest to the brewery, furthest from the store parking space. When I entered the brewery there was live music. Lots of great natural light. The staff was friendly and helpful as I tried to pick two pints. I opted for the Scooby Dunkel and Ravens Nest stout w banana and Nutella. Both beers were good. A cozy little tap room in a small town, not a bad stop. We heard good things about this place from friends, so while we were in town, we tried it out. We were underwhelmed. First, while acknowledging this is a brewery, we anticipated they would have at least a small menu for wine drinkers. They did not. Second, the acoustics inside were lousy for conversation. Finally, the food truck that services the place was extremely slow and had a limited menu based entirely on barbecued meat. Great brewery right here in Northfield! Dog and child friendly (especially on our Sunday afternoon visit). The stout on nitro that we tried was excellent, paring nicely with the Beetza (beets on a flatbread). My partner loves all things with meat on em so he was disappointed that most of the items were gone by the time we got there. That is, until he tried the Beetza! He loved the garlic/cheese on it! Go out of your way to go to this brewery extraordinaire up I-35! It's totally worth your time! This place is awesome! Everyone on bikes or walking to and from the brewery. The pizza and many other offerings food truck type patio tent smelled delicious! They had live music that was fantastic and they were busy in the best way. Imminent has a nice tap room and when we were there some pretty good live music. It was a Saturday night and they were completely packed. Not one seat was open! We tried a few beers and they were pretty good but, I don't feel like they were anything too memorable. I was confused on what their Norstrailian Sparkling Ale really was because the description didn't match the beer. We were passing it around and just kind confused. It's rare I don't finish a beer but I ended up giving it to soemone else. I did like the Cannon Valley Pale Ale. That was a nice easy sipper. Next time I hope to try a few more beers. read more

Love this place and come here a lot. The beer is good and the food trucks are always really delicious. My only feedback is there is a bartender that is always crabby and rude. Customer service is not her strong suit. Tough to spend money when she is helping. She just seems pissed off and not friendly even a little bit. I try to avoid her but not always possible. My mom and I stopped here on a gorgeous fall day and we were both happy to snag outdoor seating. The venue is fun and open. Both indoor and outdoor the seating can accommodate small and large groups. Also they are dog friendly! Check out their website for the "Brewery Dog of the Month" (it's adorable and it helps local dogs find a home). There is no table service, but the servers are very helpful and efficient when trying to make a selection. I enjoyed a beer flight and quickly fell in love with their Guard Down IPA, it was delicious. They don't serve food, but they do bring in food vendors and trucks. Their website provides more information of food and events. You are also welcome to bring outside food. Also with the convenient downtown location you have plenty of options to grab something to eat or pick it up on your way there. For entertainment, they have few large TV's, which played Sunday football (Go Vikes). In addition they keep some board games and cards for people to use. Also they have live entertainment and events to include but not limited to; poetry contests, yoga on tap, and several local artists (check out the website!). My sista and I stopped in on Sunday after watching two baseball games. We enjoyed samples of #2 Honey Basil Beer , #5 Question Mark Hill Wheat and #9 Cannon Valley Pale Ale. The beer tender was very nice and since I was driving, I opted for 2- 4 oz beers. The aroma of the Honey Basil Ale was very delightful and good. Sweet aftertaste. My favorite was Question Mark Hill Wheat. Bathrooms clean. Asked about dogs and they are welcomed and encouraged. The place looks like a gutted gas service station but clean. Next time I may get a growler. I preferred this place over the Tanzenwald Brewery in town. Mixed age group, cold beer, and Vikings game was on. Exactly what Northfield needs! A local sourcing brewery that has a cool small town vibe. Plenty of bike parking and when I say plenty, everyone in Northfield could ride here and park their bike. The brewery greets you with a spacious outdoor patio to enjoy the fine Minnesota summer weather and your beer of choice. The entry gate seems to be a work in progress. It took a second glance to see how you actually get in by pulling the latch on the center gate. After finding a outside table, I was comforted by the fact that I could help several people with confused looks as they tried to get In for the first time. We haven't been to Imminent Brewing in awhile, because it has become so family friendly, their seems to always be kids running around and board games on the floor. It's great for family's, but not for a couple like us whose kids are out of the house and we just want to enjoy some adult time with other adults. We still enjoy Imminent's beer and love their staff. It's just harder to make the choice to go there, when there are other places nearby. I'm sure if we went later in the evening, we might experience a different vibe. read more

These guys had a fairly large craft beer selection for the area, which impressed me. I enjoyed the mole porter because it was different, but it didn't quite finish the way I hoped. They had live music, passed apps, and a huge crowd. I love that they have pride in what they serve, I just wish they had more options for people who aren't huge beer drinkers. What a great place! The beer is terrific. They are really doing a fine job at that and have a lot of variety. Even the "I only drink Bud Light" crowd may find there are options here that broaden their horizons. I prefer the beer more than Tanzenwald down the street, but that's purely a personal preference thing. I'm not sure there is a schedule for food trucks here, but I have seen some. (They seem to update Facebook when there is something to be known about.) Noris Cuisine was here the other day and they are great! Whether a truck is or is not there, they are cool with y'all ordering from nearby places. Basil's is amazing. B&L is solid. I'm sure others nearby deliver and the wait staff undoubtedly would help with suggestions. There's garbage nearby like Domino's that surely would come by. I guess the space the the old armory, but you'd never know. The place is really updated and looks so much better than I anticipated prior to it opening. They have all sorts of games and things (Jenga, Exploding Kittens, Trivial Pursuit, etc) if you want to hang for a while or just like that sort of thing. Really solid tables and chairs... sturdy. On a nice night, the outdoor seating is awesome. No table service. You're headed into the bar for a drink, but it's been well staffed and they are generally well-paced. No issues there. They are sort of poor on NA options, but don't seem offended if you are bringing in beverages for those who don't/can't drink. There was some sort of berry soda and a strawberry/rhubarb soda (so Minnesota?!), but it was pretty much zero after that. Loon Liquors down the road offers some solid NA drinks and I love that for a distillery. They're only open Thursday - Sunday. Good for them, but I'd like to drink their beer more often. (They appear to do growlers, but I'm just not that planned out or consistent with having a brew to bother.) read more

Overall, an enjoyable experience at this brewery! Inside was packed due to it being trivia time when I arrived around 6:30pm on a Sunday night. They have a nice sized outdoor patio space with a food truck that was parked & serving people- when it ran out of food around 8pm, it closed up and drove away. Down side of the patio- the view is of the Econo Foods across the street. Upside- they played good classic music that many ages could enjoy (at just the right volume). I'm an IPA gal- the 2 I tried did not overly excite my taste buds. Not sure what their most popular or flagship brew is? But I still enjoyed drinking them.
