They have someone out side to let you in and once you're in you have a dedicated server. The service is good, especially with them being so busy. The inside is beautifully decorated. It is a bit loud for a speakeasy tbh but it was still enjoyable. Drinks are themed and decorated nicely. They aren't just good looking, they taste just as good! Definitely worth a visit! In the summer months when I went, it was kind of an underground island-pirate themed. "Lost Pigeon Island." Now the decor isn't high production or anything , think school dance level production. There was a turquoise aquatic color scheme in a darkish space, a cotton-y material by the door that towered toward the ceiling to give the impression of a 3D cloud. And the feature I was most a fan of was they had these huge 'painted' portraits of a heroic pigeon in the theme for the season. So a pigeon with a shark in one frame, another pigeon in pirates garb in another. And these frames were above the main booths so everyone can just soak up the fun. Place gets busy and they do take reservations. Rezzies might even be mandatory on Friday/Sat nights I'm sure. We strolled in on a lazy Sunday afternoon no prob, but the place was like 85% filled. There was only 1 bartender that time of the day. And these labor intensive cocktails take a while to make. Multiple bottles to grab, different mixers for each drink, different glassware, garnishing fruits or spice and dabs of assorted bitters. Cool tender told us he'll be with us as soon as he can. We said no prob. Probably took a little over 5 minutes for him to open up. But it was entertaining enough watching all these elaborate drinks get made right front of me. Toasted Trader ($18/4*) Bourbon , Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Italian Holiday Tea, citrus and bitters. Not sure if this was made to specs but there may have been a slight alteration. Not that I'd really know but I thought I heard the bartender mention something. But the drink was served up, with a garnish of star anise inside the glass and a cinnamon stick that he lit to smolder. The drink was so smooth and interesting, a touch sweet and sour with a creamy texture even though it was clear-ish. Menu says 'clarified milk punch' but I have no clue on what that entails. I just know it was pretty tasty but think they left out the Cinnamon Toast Crunch part out. Which wasn't a deal breaker. Afterglow ($18/4*) Cilantro infused vodka, cachaca, citrus, ginger, tiki bitters and mango liqueur. Another very interesting concoction this time garnished with popping boba which silhouettes in the warm yellowish cool liquid. We each only had 1 as fun as the drinks are and as kitsch the vibes were, we are just kinda simple and straight forward drinkers. A Ketel n soda and/or a double Jami on the rocks with a beer back. The restaurant is in the heart of downtown Livermore, and there's a large free parking structure a very short walk away. Even with another event going on downtown, there was still plenty of space on the top floor. We arrived around 7:30 and the dining room was full. The bar was wide open, but with our son along that wasn't an option, so we waited about 15 minutes for a table. That's pretty reasonable for a Saturday night. Once inside, the space felt nice and modern, with pear-themed artwork on the walls that gives it some personality without being over the top. The menu is New American with a Southern lean, and there's something for everyone. It's from the Rodney Worth group (the Peasant & the Pear folks), with a full bar and an extensive bourbon list. We skipped cocktails this time and went straight to food: the bourbon chicken, the butternut squash risotto with chicken added, and the kids sliders and fries. Everything came out fast, hot, and well cooked. The bourbon chicken was the star, and the mushroom cream sauce was the standout. It's very rich, as you'd expect, but really delicious. The risotto itself was cooked well, though it ended up a little soupy. My son liked his sliders, but the fries were under seasoned. Prices were reasonable for a trendy downtown spot, and the value felt solid for the quality and portions. Service was where things fell short. We ordered quickly and the food arrived quickly, but after that we were pretty much on our own. Our waters were never refilled, even though we were seated right next to the bar where the water pitchers were kept. By the time we left, the dining room had mostly emptied out and the bar had filled up. That makes me think this is a better spot for food with cocktails than for a family dinner. If you're sitting at the bar with a bourbon in hand, I think you'd have a great time. With kids in tow, the food is good enough to come back for, but I'd go in expecting to flag down your server.

They have some pretty good cocktails served in such cute cups. I'm more so a neat drink drinker. I have yet to return to watch some football and try out their food.

The wedge salad was drowning in ranch like someone emptied the whole bottle on it. Tomatoes tasted old and gross. Then came the nachos... tiny portion, bland chips, barely any cheese, no mango salsa like the menu claimed, and the "barbacoa" -- if you could even call it that -- was tough, fatty, and completely inedible. $74 later for one appetizer, one salad, one kids meal, and 1 1/2 beers.
