Good food better service.. portions could be a little more but definitely the most authentic Mexican food I've had in the area!

The Mexican burger and fries are delicious. They give you a nice amount for the price you pay.

Stopped in on a Saturday night. Live in the area and had seen good reviews so we decided to give them a go. Ordered Quesadillas with chicken. This is not Tex Mex food. Way to much cheese and little chicken. Cheese was more like mozzarella. Table tops were clean but the floors were filthy. Food, napkins and other trash on the floor under the adjoining tables. Service staff was good, but I wonder if the kitchen is in the same condition as the floor. read more

I hate that the best Mexican food restaurant in Lindale has gone to crap with the "new management" or new ownership or whatever they call it. Ever since it's been changed the quality of the food has paid the price. No actually I've paid the price and for food that I would not serve to anyone. I know for myself I won't eat it and I hate that it's come to this bcuz I have given it 5 tries and each time it gets worse. Today was the last time I will eat there or the to-go. The staff is always friendly and smiling which makes it an even more enjoyable experience. Right now you can get 3 breakfast tacos for $1.99. You can't beat that. The only issue is they leave you hanging on the phone to listen to them converse and laugh when you call to place an order, yet they want you to call ahead of time to place your order. The guy that is usually there is a lot more attentive and friendlier , but hasn't been there as much. Wish he was there all the time. read more

The waitress was sweet and attentive. My wife got a shrimp and fish meal with fries, which I thought was really good. The fries were somewhat standard, but the fried fish and shrimp were great. The torta that I got had fajita meat which was somewhat dry and rubbery, which was my only real complaint. That and the rice in her meal was quite bland. But, at the end of the day, we got a torta, one soda, and fish and shrimp entree (plus chips and dip) for around $18 with tax, so that was a fair price to pay, IMO. Coming from Houston, the torta wasn't the best I ever had, but for the price it was good enough. read more

Headed from Dallas to New Orleans for a weekend get-away and wanted to grab a quick breakfast-to-go. We pulled in right after they opened at 7 am. We ordered several breakfast tacos at $1.50 each and 2 breakfast burritos at $4.50 each. The waitress had not yet arrived to open the cash register but the manager/head cook went ahead and started preparing our order anyway. The bathrooms were very clean and stocked as was the overall restaurant. ...I loved looking back and seeing the head cook carry a large container of eggs out of the cooler - no egg substitutes used here!! Our order was prepared and we were on our way within 10-15 minutes. The breakfast was very well-priced for the portion sizes! The tacos and burritos were fresh, hot and tasty!! This is a hole in the wall place with good food! The establishment is very old. Although not much has been done to keep it up, it is clean. I don't think there was a vinyl chair that did not have a rip on it. The decor was very indicative of a Mexican culture. Lots of color and decoration. The service was good. Not overly friendly, but took care of us The food was typical Tex Mex which is what we like. I had the taco plate. It came with three tacos, rice and beans. I chose two ground beef tacos, one chicken and the refried beans. The tacos came with shredded cheddar cheese on the tacos, sitting on a bed of lettuce and tomatoes. The chicken was very good! Wonderful flavor. The ground beef was good but I thought it was a bit salty. Both the beef and the chicken had some grease but not too bad. The rice and beans were typical Tex Mex. My husband had the chicken burrito with quest sauce. It was large! The loved it and the cheese sauce was very good. He opted for the charro beans and he said they were some of the best he has eaten. As long as you are not looking for something unique or fancy, I would recommend Cinco De Mayo for some good Tex Mex. read more

Giving only my second 5 Star rating! My wife and I were heading back to Alba, TX from Tyler this evening when I saw this small Mexican restaurant on Hwy. 69 south of Downtown Linden, TX. We decided to stop even though The Catch and WingStop were across the highway. I am so glad we did!! Let's start off with up to 2 free Margaritas on Weds when you purchase a entree of $6.99!! How can you beat that!! The drink was a perfect blend of mix and Tequila. Only drawback was it was served in a plastic mug. Needed to be in a glass mug to help keep drink cold. There were two types of Salsa served. One was more tomatoey, served warm with a spicy finish (I preferred this one) while the other was more smoky with a vinegar aftertaste. The chips were crunchy and very tasty. I ordered the Camaron Diablo with Chipotle Sauce. It was served with rice (very moist and tasty), French Fries (crunchy outside and soft inside), a salad with Avocado slices and at least 12 medium size Shrimp cooked perfectly with Green Bell Peppers and Onions smothered in a mildly spicy Chipotle Sauce served with an order of either corn or flour tortillas. Absolutely fantastic!! It was "The Best" Mexican Food dish I have had since my trip to Tulum Mexico!! This includes several "Exclusive" Mexican Restaurants in Houston, Dallas And Fort Worth!! My wife order the Fajita Beef Bowl. It was basically Beef Fajita with onion and green pepper served over rice smothered with Queso Blanco cheese. I tried a bite and it was also very, very good!! Horrible customer service. Our server was rude, her greeting was literally "drinks?" A different waitress came to refill our chips and virtually threw them at us. The food smelled rancid, tasted rancid. I was SO excited to come here because all of my friends recommended it and I was appalled. As a server myself, I consider this one of the worst places, if not the worst place I have ever been to. I have never been treated worse by a staff in my life and I will never be coming back. Also, I hope this review reaches the people that want to visit here because I want them to know that this place is just genuinely horrible. I chose this place because it had the highest rating of any Mexican joint in Lindale. After eating here, i was not that impressed. I got the mixed grill fajitas, which are NOT just chicken/beef, but also shrimp and hot dog (??) too. The meat & vegetables were very greasy. Normally i like a sizzling fajita plate, but this sizzled & popped and spattered grease all over the table for 5 minutes. The salsa tasted like vegetable soup, the beans were flavorless, and you only got 3 or 4 small tortillas. Considering Petty's got such a high rating as well, I am beginning to wonder if Lindale people know a good restaurant when they see one. read more

I don't usually leave bad reviews but this was such a bad experience all the way around it would be negligent not to. Th waitress was not attentive at all, we had to get up and go find someone more than once to give us chips, silverware, food that we had ordered but hadn't been brought to the table. The food was terrible and expensive. There were 3 of us and two of us split a meal and it was still 38.00 before we got out of there.
