We had a fiber cable installed along our road a couple of months ago so along with that came the sales pitch from a Cincinnati Bell rep last week to switch from Spectrum. The guy gave my wife and I a quote and I told him we would think about it and let him know. This was last week. Fast forward to this past Saturday and my yard is marked with spray paint and flags from a utility marking company. Again, we have not said anything to anyone except that we would think about it. Fast forward to yesterday and my wife gets a call from the guy burying the cable at my house. She's at work, I'm at work so we are not home to stop them. Long story short the salesman assumed we were going to buy their garbage service so he ordered the install without our consent. Now my yard is marked up with paint, has flags/stakes all over it, and I have lawn damage from their machine that buried the line. I've talked to several reps from CinBell and am supposed to hear back this afternoon with what they're going to do to make it right. Time will tell. We had CinBell years ago for their cell phone service which was a complete joke. We also had their internet and phone back in the day. Their customer support is a joke, their products are a joke, their salespeople are shady and they'll come on to your property and do work without your consent. read more

The worst customer service ever!! Fire the customer service director and get some actual people from Cincinnati to answer the dang phone! Didn't show up 3 times for an installation. Spent a total of 4 hours on the phone getting the run around. The worst company ever! Why is the CEO allowing this company to be run so badly??? There is not excuse for this! read more

to anyone looking to get internet i urge you do not get cincinnati bell fioptics. it's the worst service available! internet has went out two times within the past week. not to mention all of the other times before that. as a business owner i need internet and when the operator tells you it will be over two days before a technician can service you it's extremely annoying and unacceptable. mind you i still have to pay for a service i am not using. disregard all of those misleading commercials you see about fioptics. the service is the worst and there technical support team is just as bad. read more

Deja Vu All Over Again. Believe every negative review you read on this site. Our Fioptics "whole home" DVR has literally not been made for about 10 years according to the technicians who have been out on numerous occasions and there are no replacement parts available. They just keep recycling used boxes in the hope that one will work for awhile. It would be hard to imagine that there is a worse cable/satellite company out there when it comes to programming delivery. I actually feel sorry for the poor customer service representatives in the Philippines who have to apologize for this company continuously. It's back to satellite for me. read more

Can I give them a negative? It took them 1.5 weeks to literally flip a switch to turn on our internet.

Alexandera K. You are so right. I know the feeling. I have the home phone and bundled the Internet with Cincinnati Bell as well. I home school my three children and I called Cincinnati Bell to see about a wireless router because I had to get two more computers for school. They said I would have to pay $50.00 for it and $45.00 for each wireless adapter. That is way out of my budget.. They said to go to the store to pick it up. I told them I didn't want it because it cost to much, I would go another way to get it. They turned around and charged me $60.00 on my bill for something I didn't get. I would go to Time Warner Cable but they are worst then Cincinnati Bell.... In this day and age I am looking for other options to save money.... read more

I signed up to yelp just to post a review about how terrible Cincinnati Bell is. Their internet service is really awful! They should be ashamed of themselves. It is so slow, drops frequently, and if you try to get something done with their customer service, it takes them weeks. Also, it seems like they just shuffle around modems between customers, so if you have a problem with a modem and get it replaced, you are quite likely to get another one that doesn't work. read more

Not very happy about this company at all. I paid a bill in may and the next month it went up like $80 MORE. So i called them to see if we could take care of this. I ended up just telling the person on the phone just cancel the cable service i will just use internet and was told my bill would go down. Well little did i know that was not true till i call and see what my bill was it went up to almost $500 and yes this was since may? So i go online and call to see why this wasn't fixed when i was told it was. It ended up that can fix this month but said i'am sorry we can't fix last month that bill was already out. So needless to say sorry Cincinnati bell has lost a valuable customer. And to everyone thinking of switching to them don't because they don't care to raise your prices, and they do not have good customer service. read more

The cable service is the worst on the market. The on-demand offerings are limited. The user interface is clumsy, slow, and terrible in comparison to veriizon and comcast. The remote and menu system is a total frustration. If Cincinnati had comcast or verizon, Cincinnati Bell would be wiped out of the market, which is what they deserve. read more

Have had Fioptics for 7 months. Asside form the inconsistent service and mediocre performance with the internet speed, the customer services is what makes the Cincinnati Bell rate as the worst customer experience I've ever had in my life. Have been out of services for 6 days. I have talked with 8 cusomer service reps, 6 of which were from overseas opperations. Nobody was able to fix my problem or demonstrated any ability of competence to know what the problem was. Today when I called to cancel my services is took 30 miniutes to get to a supervisor who was never able to be contacted. Never again Cincinnati Bell, never again. read more

Cincinnati Bell is so TERRIBLE! They absolutely do not care about their customers what so ever! I had Cincinnati Bell for almost a year or close to it and its been nothing but an complete hassle and headache. I wish It were more options for phone providers In my area with people who actually care about the customers and want to help resolve their issue. I hate that im in customer service and I have to deal with people so unwilling to assist and talk over you. I would never make anyone feel so unappreciated when they're the reason that the company even exists. read more

I really wanted to get to talk with Mr Theodore H. Torbeck who is the CEO and Director of Cincinnati Bell but they keep him locked up pretty good. This is what I am going to put on Facebook and Linkedin. I was given a price of $115.00 for whole house DVR. Internet 30 meg, and wifi plus home phone. then I desided I wanted another box taking the bill to $120.00. Knowone said a word about taxes and fees. I was told my bill would be $120.00 but when my bill came it was $168.00. When I called they started with the we can take this cost off and this off and the got the bill down to $144.00 and said it was going back to the $120.00 next month. Well the next evening my wife tried to pull up the list to watch a recording, something we have been doing sense they installed it. So guess how they got my bill down to $144.00. they took my whole house dvr away. So Ted my name is Dan and if you ask employee number 45957 Bev. I am sure she will remember me. Dan read more

Cincinnati Bell has the worst customer service on the planet. I have had issues with them for 18 months. There have been many, many calls. After 38 great years, due to the grief of the last year, I have disconnected all of their services (phone, Zoomtown, Fioptics). As I write this, I am on hold again. This call has gone on for 90 minutes, more than half that time on hold. It seems impossible to get a real problem solver; just talking heads who repeat their talking points ad nauseam. I now have my home phone, internet and cable with their competitor and enjoy better service at a much lower price. Safe yourself money and grief, avoid Cincinnati Bell. read more

I get promotional materials in the mail fro Cincinnati Bell about every 6 months promoting their Fioptics network. When I go to sign up I find out that Fioptics is not available in my neighborhood! This has been going on for three years. You would think that a company that can determine the availability of a service by address would not market to that address if it couldn't offer the service. Very frustrated. read more

I disconnected my internet service 2 days into my billing cycle. (You pay a month in advance.) I was expecting a 28 day credit. Instead, I was informed that the policy on premium services is to charge a full month no matter when you disconnect. When I complained, customer service said that the best they could do is issue me a half month credit because I had such a good record of paying my bills on time (like he was doing me a favor.) This an unjust policy and it should be illegal. read more

My internet has been down for atLeast 3 days now. No fault of ours it's an issue with the Network or Lines as the Cincinnati bell rep told me. I have diligently been trying to get a technician to come out to my home at a reasonable time when my husband and I are off work and not the 8-12 window or 12-4. I started calling Cincinnati Bell this morning at 5:30am to cancel an 8-12 appointment they made without my approval and to have it rescheduled to anytime, any day after 4:30 when AtLeast one of us will be home. No one answered which I thought was strange since Tech support is open 24 hours.. I called back around 7:30am and spoke with a Mirriam. She proceeds to tell me they can cancel me out and the next appointment she had available would be this Friday between 12-4. I asked her if they had evening or weekend appointments and she proceeded to say yes, we do just not in your neighborhood... Wait what........ So I asked her to clarify what she was saying. She stated that per my zip code they don't send technicians out after 4pm. Now I've been here almost 5 years and I sadly can't remember what time I've had tech support come out but, to inconvenience a customer who didn't cause this mess is ridiculous and shows that Cincinnati bell doesn't care about certain customers in certain neighborhoods. Or maybe the issue is that my husband and I both work and per my zip code that's not normal so i better find someone to sit at my house to accommodate an early appointment. They are a joke!! read more

This has been the worst experience getting the internet fixed. My internet went out well over a week ago. As a photographer this has been a nightmare, I've used up data trying to keep up with clients. I was also trying to update things on my computer when it went out. I've been lied to about how they are trying to fix it. Multiple people called to ask me to restart my router and then told me some type of higher up tech would get back to me I. 1-3 hours. No one ever did. I'm also a night shift nurse. I was getting calls asking if it was fixed yet while trying to sleep. Multiple people called trying to sell me insurance in order for a technician to fix it. One guy lied and said there wasn't a charge and it needed to be set up. Then at the end of the conversation he smoothly added "and this will get added to your monthly bill." Cincinnati Bell clearly couldn't care less about their customers. Just go else where for internet service. read more

So if you are thinking about getting Cincinnati Bell fioptics don't do it. Worse customer service ever. Sales rep came to our house and told us one price but when we got our first bill it was higher than what we were told it would be. Call them and of course talk to somebody in the Philippines and they told me that the rep was wrong and this is what our price was going to be. So we left and went back to Time Warner for a cheaper rate and the price that we were quoted. So watch out for Cincinnati Bell fioptics because they're going to tell you one thing and do something else. read more

If I could give negative ratings and reviews Cincinnati bell would receive -10 stars. PLEASE do not go to this stealing lying company. I had zoomtown internet or 39.99 a month, not only did the send me a cracked router, the wifi barely ever worked, Netflix would take 10 minutes load on a 25 minutes episode, my phone would never load anything, on top of it all, I cancelled my service a day after it renewed for the next month, and they charged me for the WHOLE month. When I returned all my equipment not one thing was missing, they sent me a final bill of 174 dollars and had no explanation on the paper what the extra $130 dollar charge was for. This company needs to be invested by the Better Business Bureau because they need shut down. read more

I signed up with Cincinnati Bell for business phone and internet. It was a complete and utter disaster from start to end. The Sales person simply lied about everything, he claimed I could have my outgoing caller ID state what my company required. Found out that was a lie. I told them my company required the account be in my name rather than the company for expense re-reimbursement. It took 9 months to get that done. The monthly bill was supposed to be $67, it was $108. Every single customer service was NOT accomplished. I sent an e-mail to the supervisor of the sales person I spoke with and got ZERO response. I called customer service and asked to get transferred to a supervisor and got disconnected. I called back, was told a supervisor would call me. The call never came. When I cancelled the service the put over $300 of fake charges on the bill. I WILL NEVER AGAIN USE CINCINNATI BELL. read more

I can't stress enough to NEVER switch to them for the fiber optics TV or internet. Worst choice I ever made, it's a joke and a example that you will truely get what you pay for. The TV service went out all the damn time, even worse then DirectTV ever could of been. The internet has gone out more times than I could count, and has been out again since this morning. I'm done. The customer service is god awful. I can't get rid of their internet (ditched the TV already) soon enough. Cincinnati Bell customer support is horrible!!! If you live in the Cincinnati area you have no other choice but to stay with them if you need an actual phone line and this sucks!. I just moved my service to a new construction home. I scheduled the move of the phone service and the first time the service person did not call me, just showed up an left a piece of paper for me to re-schedule with a number. I had the security company comming the next day and I needed the phone to be hooked on. I was transfered 4 times to a service center in the Asia where they rescheduled me without my consent 3 days later than I needed. After the 4th call I finally got the person to transfer me back to someone in the US. The person in the US was very corteous and she was able to get the scheduling problem fixed. The service person came back and did the service and told me that in about 4 weeks someone will come and bury the phone line. 6 weeks later no one came. I just finished talking again to someone in Asia who lectured me about the fact that it is another department who handles burying the line and that it needed to be scheduled separately and that in 4 to 6 weeks someone will call me back to schedule to be burried. REALLY? Was I supposed to call back to schedule a line to be burried? Is this standard practice just to leave utility cables over someone's lawn hanging there? Isn't this common sense that when you schedule a phone service move that the whole thing is done right? On top of this- In my previous home I had Fioptics and I had scheduled for the equipment to be picked up. After I was absent from my job to make the appointment, the call center called back that the service was not disconnected yet or something along those lines so the equipment could not be picked up. The guy on the phone mentioned that I was going to be given the first month of phone service at my residence free for the inconvenience. Sure enough the phone bill came in and there was no credit or anything. I tried to provide this feedback directly to Cincinnati bell and they do not have anywhere in their website a contact number where you can leave feedback, therefore I am posting this here so other people know to avoid making business with Cincinnati Bell. read more

Wow...I have to say that Cincinnati Bell must not be interested in receiving my girlfriends money. She called 3 weeks ago to have internet installed. Her building is already hooked up for Fioptics. They told her that it would take 3 WEEKS to send someone out to basically install a box! CB sent her an email a few days before they were to come out and install, and had her phone number completely wrong. She replied to the email immediately, giving them the correct phone number to call. Needless to say, they never showed up, and she had skipped her college class in order to be there for them. When she called to tell the customer serivice what had happened, she was told that it would take ANOTHER 2 WEEKS for them to come out and install!!! She has an online college course that starts before then! How is she supposed to take the course without the internet that we were promised yesterday?!? And absolutely no courtesy from customer service to try to rectify the problem at all...what pathetic service! If I did anything like that at my job, or if my people did stuff like that where I worked, heads would roll! I guess that CB has enough money from everyone else who was unfortunate to stumble upon their company. I'm sure she could send her money better elsewhere... read more

trying to fix any issues you have with their services is such a pain staking chore!!! when we moved to cincinnati, we called to set-up our internet and fioptics TV with them. no one turned up for the installation. when i made some zillion calls, to my amazement, i was told that the appointment was never set-up!!!!! well after waiting for about 2 weeks, they finally came, said some connections were not working blah blah and disappeared before reappearing and setting the connections. service quality was good, no issues till about a week. our internet started playing and i did not have connection for straight 30-minutes in a day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i had to re-start my router & modem every 10 mins. i called them up, spoke to their IT support team and they said they would ring me back in a minute or so and its been i dont know how long now, NO RESPONSE!!! i have tried calling them many many times now, nobody answers like everyone is busy allllllll the time... i am not pleased with their customer service. they could do much much better given the amount they charge us every month and also given the fact that they are not such a huge company. I have had Cincinnati Bell Wireless for years I started out with them in 2000 and the service and products were fantastic. I later left them for a period of 2 years to try AT&T. AT&T had the products I desired, but the price was a little too high for my budget. I then returned to Cincinnati Bell Wireless and since that point the quality of service has consistently gone down hill. My most recent issues with this company include incorrect charges, many phone calls to customer service (which happens to be overseas somewhere so you get fake names and no record of your calls when you call back to follow up on items you were assured would be handled immediately), a long wait at the brick and mortar store (not many left so I had to travel about 25 miles to get to one), and then service that was out of sync, inconsistent, and did not follow the claims made by service or store representatives. No one seems to know what they are talking about. Every call or visit was as if I had never initiated communication regarding a problem. EVERY CALL WAS STARTING FROM SCRATCH. So now I hear that Cincinnati Bell is selling their wireless division to Verizon and releasing customers from any contracts. To this I say, "Good riddance!" read more

Cinti Bell is got to be the worst company NOW that I have ever dealt with. You can not even find a phone number or a way to talk to anyone that is not in Manilla..... Yelp - To Cincinnati Bell -WARNING TO CUSTOMERS WITH FIOPTICS Let me preface this by saying that my husband and I are in our 70's and live in an area with poor cell reception, so we rely on our home phone and internet to communicate with the outside world. Our problems began a week ago when a tree fell on the electrical and phone lines down the street. Our home phone and internet went down within a day. Our son, who is extremely tech savvy, tested everything in the house and found that there was no service coming into the house. He contacted Cincinnati Bell tech department, we contacted Cincinnati Bell tech department, and 10 calls and one week later, we are still without service. Two techs have been out, surveyed the broken line, admitted it was broken and the cause of the outage, got in their trucks and left. Subsequent calls to and from a tag team in Manilla, Philippines generated responses such as: 1) Stay off your cell phone so that our tech can reach you; 2) he will be there between 12 - 4 tomorrow; 3) You must be 18 years old or older; 4) you must be home when the tech arrives. We have received this message 7 times - 5 from Manilla and 2 from an American robocall on various days - and to be honest, neither tech called ahead. Luckily we have been home both times. We have heard that "We missed the appointment," (which we did not), "It looks like there is a broken line on the street and our tech will fix it today or tomorrow," "we will not have to pay the days of the outage," (just imagine the days if not weeks of confrontation with Cincinnati Bell Credit Department), and various other excerpts from the Cincinnati Bell Manual for the Philippines. Finally at wits end, two days ago my husband called to say that we were canceling our service. They were very apologetic and wanted to know how they could keep us as a customer. "I will personally guarantee that you will have a free month of service. Our tech will be out tomorrow and in order to ensure that your appointment is not canceled, 1) Stay off your cell, so that our tech can reach you, 2. he will be there between ...blah blah blah." Still waiting!!!!! read more

My experience has been horrible with the customer service and so called supervisors. I called to order service because my Direct tv contract was up. I called in and ordered my service got my bill to 125.82 per month and that was with the promotional offer for 79.99. I called my husband to let him know we were switching to Cincinnati Bell and i was reminded that we gave permission for the box to be put on a pole in our backyard and they offered some type of deal if we chose to go with them. i call back spkw a supervisor she says yes she has heard of this and will see what she can do and call me back. She called back to let me know that her manager said that i would need to spkw the person that I let in my house and gave permission to put the box up, but she could give 2 boxes to me for no charge. My intial order was 125.82 and it still is so Im very confused. I asked to spkw the manager and he was not available and she explained i need to write a letter to corporate that they did not have a phone number. I honestly have no clue what the Cincinnati Bell personals name was. Im sure its their records who came out . Literally the worst Internet ever. I've called for customer support multiple times and THEIR EMPLOYEES ARE IDIOTS. They have no idea what their own rates are. So I asked the employee how much are the rates for just regular customers who have been with cincinnati bell... and HE TOOK 20 MINUTES TO JUST FIND THE RATES. It was no where to be found on their website. Bunch of idiots working for their customer support. And secondly the internet is god awful. I am the only one using the internet and it takes more than 30 seconds to load a facebook page. It is ridiculous. Cincinnati bell is scamming you for your money. I'm switching to Spectrum. I I have been a Cincinnati Bell customer for 28 years. I was unable to get a dial tone on my land line for the second time in one month. The first time it lasted one day. This time it never came back after three days. I called Cincinnati Bell to come out to fix the problem. They wanted to charge me 49.00 just to look at the problem and another $49.99 if the problem was in my house. I told the customer service rep that I will look into bundling my phone service with Time Warner Cable. She told me that I could look into that option. I called TWC and they bundled my phone with my Internet and cable where I am now paying $12 for my phone with the same services Cincinnati Bell was charging just under $58. In 2013, when so many customers are dropping land lines, it is surprising and disappointing that Cinti Bell is willing to let go of customers who are willing to pay for a land line. That's bad customer service! By the way, the wire problem was not in my house. So Cinti Bell wanted to charge me to have one of their technicians come out to fix their faulty wires. read more
