I stopped in tonight briefly after a short hike in the hills with my dogs. The place was busy for a Saturday evening and my dog was getting stressed. I let her rest in the car parked up front while I went inside for one beer. All tap beers are $6. Two weeks ago when I stopped by, all taps were $5 but maybe that is the local rate. Tonight the bartender told me there was a $15 minimum on a credit card or a $1 additional closing fee for less than $15. I opted to close out. That made my pint of Cali Squeeze $7! But when the bartender came back with my bill, she charged me the local rate of $5 without a closing fee. Odd Two of the tap beers are made right there in Bisbee, across the parking lot at the Old Bisbee Brewing Company. A pint of the Copper City ale or Pilsner is $6 at St Elmo's but $7 at the actual place that brews the beer! A band had just stopped playing for the night in the stage next door. People were playing pool and hitting the boxing glove. The place was loud. Next time I stop in, it will be during the week in the late afternoon when it's much quieter. This place is off-limits to active-duty military (for alleged drug use among clientele) but I've never seen it, unless that includes the old guys who stand outside and smoke weed. I don't partake in that stuff. The business also helps locals on holiday. I've come by in years past when the locals would host potluck turkey meals for the regulars. This place also hosted a lovely Barks and Brews before the covid pandemic hit in 2019. It's a place worth stopping by in at least once. My biggest complaint is the musky smell when you walk on. It's quite strong.

The exterior looks like a mix of three attractions: a restaurant, a museum, & a movie theater. I can't say if all three of those things are really in there, it's just an impression. I will say that I am glad I took at chance at trying their food at a time when I was seriously hungry. I was invited to sit wherever I wanted, so I chose a table along the wall with a big TV right above me. I was greeted kindly, and given time to order my food, which I decided would be a couple fried eggs, hashbrowns, sausage patties, toast, & cheesy grits. They were so good, with the hashbrowns being, as my partner put it, "The best he's ever had!" I personally enjoyed the patties the most, and the grits the least. The grits were made in a way that the shredded cheese was sprinkled on top of the grits instead of mixed in it, and I do not prefer that style. It was still good, just not as good as others I've tried. So that's why I'm not docking points; why be super critical on one side dish when everything else was an A+? I liked the wholesome feel of the restaurant, like everybody knew each other, and the fact that it was pet-friendly was a bonus too. I noticed this place off the Main Street and was curious. This place has been open since last October and yesterday was the first time I knew the place existed. It doesn't open until 4pm and I'm usually back home by then. It has a nice ambiance. Motorcycles adorn the walls. At least two TVs are high up on the walls. The dark wood adds earthiness. There are electric outlets under the bar to charge your phone. I had my dog Hansel with me and the open-air design attracted me to this place. I sat at a picnic table facing the street. Hansel enjoyed looking down on dogs walking by, thanks to the elevated platform we were on. Service was prompt. I noticed that the menu wasn't very extensive and the prices were on the high side. I settled for the two Brisket Tacos for $18.99. I had water to drink. The tacos were very good. The beef was well spiced and there was no skimping on any of the ingredients. The baked beans were sweet, the cole slaw a mere 1-ounce serving. It was a tasty meal. They serve $5 margaritas during Happy Hour 4-5pm weekdays.

During the day, it's a hip hangout with plenty of craft beers and a limited menu of bar food. At night, it's a whole different experience. You can expect a dance floor with limited seating. I accidentally stumbled upon the second floor--a modest arcade with a vending machine, which was the perfect place to chill out. It really did feel like a social club up here since I met people from all across Arizona and beyond. What a gem--it's good to know you can have fun late at night around here.
