St. Elmo survived Prohibition by selling into a soda shop and also if you know the regularly patronized by celebrities such as John Wayne and Charlie Sheen in Bisbee. This Dive bar could be one of the oldest bars in Arizona since 1902. I've been a couple times and they never let me down. This is the dive bar and you can mingle with the locals. Though, I've met so many Europeans such as young German, French couples chilling at this place. You can mingle with Hitching post Saloon peeps here too. ( Hitching post saloon is another dive bar in Bisbee ) Once, I ran into Pool Tournament at this place. Dog friendly, by means that no one gives a shit if you bring your dogs inside the bar. Arizona courts have held that the constitutional right to "bear arms" is qualified and subject to reasonable regulation by the state, so don't be surprised if you see open carry in town or near the pub. Why do we love the dive bar? Because no perverts ( regardless of male or female creepers ) who are looking a casual sex just for fun to "USE" you. We all know this is a community space, you're safe and sound. Recently recognized as the historic dive bar by the National Trust for Historic Preservation. Still Tourists not heavy town. Even I do not like Tucson, AZ, I d like to come back Bisbee in this winter 2024. I ll wrap up with a great lyric; " Last call for drinks, I'll have another stout Well, I turn around to look at you, you're nowhere to be found. I search the place for your lost face, guess I'll have another round" - Tom Waits

I don't see the attraction. Yes it's old, service was extremely slow and pricy. Need of a big refresh and a Hugh cleaning with a big dusting! Darcy who is the bartender/manager was amazing. Anthony, who was fun as well but Darcy made this place operate . She is my favorite person in this small town. NOT sure if I'd brag about this place.

Whether you partake in drinking adult beverages or not, no trip to Bisbee is complete with stopping at Elmo's! The staff is friendly and great at their jobs-don't expect them to take any crap because they won't! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The beer is cold and the bands are great![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]We've been there several times and always see something new on the walls, love the local history![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Great dive bar and the oldest bar in Arizona since 1902... Cold beer and friendly patrons and dog friendly with a pool table. The bartender was fast serving everyone and great stickers all over the bar very interesting reading them. Easy to find in Bisbee

Great local bar! It does look rough but that's what makes this bar fun. The inside is hilarious with the bumper stickers everywhere and signs. Bar tender was fun to talk with and must try a shot of the local Agua shot. Just ask, they know what it is. Had a DJ later that night when we went back and had a great time at this bar. Highly recommend over all others as we did hit up others that night

Really the central point for activity in the gulch. Live music and heavy pours. Gets a little sporty the later the evening gets.

I noticed this place off the Main Street and was curious. This place has been open since last October and yesterday was the first time I knew the place existed. It doesn't open until 4pm and I'm usually back home by then. It has a nice ambiance. Motorcycles adorn the walls. At least two TVs are high up on the walls. The dark wood adds earthiness. There are electric outlets under the bar to charge your phone. I had my dog Hansel with me and the open-air design attracted me to this place. I sat at a picnic table facing the street. Hansel enjoyed looking down on dogs walking by, thanks to the elevated platform we were on. Service was prompt. I noticed that the menu wasn't very extensive and the prices were on the high side. I settled for the two Brisket Tacos for $18.99. I had water to drink. The tacos were very good. The beef was well spiced and there was no skimping on any of the ingredients. The baked beans were sweet, the cole slaw a mere 1-ounce serving. It was a tasty meal. They serve $5 margaritas during Happy Hour 4-5pm weekdays.

But thank my…read morelucky stars 'Bisbee Royale' was the only spot I knew of that was open at 8am on a Saturday. The exterior looks like a mix of three attractions: a restaurant, a museum, & a movie theater. I can't say if all three of those things are really in there, it's just an impression. I will say that I am glad I took at chance at trying their food at a time when I was seriously hungry. I was invited to sit wherever I wanted, so I chose a table along the wall with a big TV right above me. I was greeted kindly, and given time to order my food, which I decided would be a couple fried eggs, hashbrowns, sausage patties, toast, & cheesy grits. They were so good, with the hashbrowns being, as my partner put it, "The best he's ever had!" I personally enjoyed the patties the most, and the grits the least. The grits were made in a way that the shredded cheese was sprinkled on top of the grits instead of mixed in it, and I do not prefer that style. It was still good, just not as good as others I've tried. So that's why I'm not docking points; why be super critical on one side dish when everything else was an A+? I liked the wholesome feel of the restaurant, like everybody knew each other, and the fact that it was pet-friendly was a bonus too. A couple came in with three cute dogs, and that just made me super happy (not to mention, it WAS on my birthday too). I would come here again if I return to Bisbee.

It was hard to have a conversation or even hear the server at times because of the live music out in the common area of the space. The music was good, it was just rather loud. Otherwise the vibe of the space if enjoyable with its nostalgia and stuff. In the past I've ranked my experience five stars but I had to bring it down a notch. I had the meatloaf dinner and my husband had Copper(something) pasta dish. Both were lukewarm at best. The flavors were still good but it wasn't a hot dish by any means, and the meatloaf was a bit saltier than I remember. For the pasta dish, the warm bread was hotter than the pasta dish itself. We didn't send it back because I noticed the server was handling dishes returned to the kitchen at the next table, and our dishes weren't cold or anything, they were just warm. I still maintain they absolutely deserve four stars because I suspect the kitchen might have been having an off night and the food was very good (just the meatloaf was a tad salty). We really enjoyed the mushroom appetizer and the beer selection is excellent.
