Margaritas
Joneice B.

Nice addition to the neighborhood. The food is pretty fresh and the drinks cold. They do have happy hour here and celebrate Taco Tuesday. For the time that I went, I enjoyed the Tinga tacos, the guacamole appetizer and also got to try the green chili dip, which was really good. I also got to try the rolled taquitos, which were pretty tasty. I do enjoy the frozen margarita at this location and they have a good selection of tequila available for other cocktail options. All in all such a cute place really can't wait to have a drink on the patio once the weather cools down.

I loved this place so much when we had our Yelp event here recently that I had to bring my best male friend with me so he could experience it. We just happen to be in there on a Tuesday so they had three dollar taco specials and each of us got a couple of the Barbacoa tacos and I got rice and beans to go with mine as well and we got an order of chips and salsa and of course it was special made for me because of my citrus allergies so once again, kudos to the staff of this restaurant for that. Another great meal and of course it was a busy night, but our waiter kept us going with water refills and checking in on us as much as he possibly could despite working for other tables in our section as well. I will gladly bring anybody here because I love this place so much so I told friends of mine that I would like to bring them here so one night I will make the drive from Apache Junction to Chandler just for this because this place is so special.

We were excited to try a new Mexican restaurant in Chandler. We loved the Southwestern decor and atmosphere, although the restaurant was quite loud, making it difficult to have a conversation. Our server was attentive and helpful with recommendations. The food was okay overall. We tried the crisp, guac, and birria tacos, but none of the dishes really stood out. Decent experience, but not quite what we were hoping for.

First. Pretty place. Good service. Now the food. $4 chips and salsa $17 2 taco combinations $20 3 taco combinations Terrible rice and beans Refried Beans taste canned Rice tastes out of a box Dry, bland Salsas are mediocre Hot sauce not very hot with a sweet tinge Shrimp Diablo taco. Shrimp is poor quality. Rubbery. I can get a stellar quality shrimp taco at an Ahwatukee taco shop for same or less Barbacoa taco okay Carne asada not good. Not authentic. Island shrimp taco was ok. Fried shrimp. Well, I'm just sad about this experience. We were really looking forward to trying this place. It would take a complete rework of their menu for us to return :(

I went for Happy Hour with some friends and the food, the drinks, and the beautiful decor did not disappoint! A friend and I shared the margarita flight and I had the three tacos with rice and beans! We shared bottomless chips and salsa and the chips were the perfect amount of crunchy and salty. The food and drinks came fast. If you are a shrimp person, definitely try the Island Shrimp taco! You may want to make a reservation as it's a new spot and seemed quite busy Friday evening as we were leaving happy hour!

Super excited that Cien Agaves Tacos & Tequila came into this spot! We stopped by on a Friday to try lunch, and the restaurant wasn't too busy. The decor is excellent and gives the space a much more modern feel compared to the previous restaurant. Our hostess and server were both very friendly and welcoming. I had mixed feelings about the food. We started with the El Trio appetizer, which came with Queso Verde, guacamole, and salsa. Our server was also kind enough to offer us a green salsa, which we actually liked even more. Overall, the appetizer was pretty good. We also ordered the Chicken Tortilla Soup, which was loaded with so much chicken that it could practically be a meal on its own. I personally prefer more broth in my soup, as there was almost too much chicken for it to feel like a soup. That said, the flavor was good. For our main course, we ordered tacos with rice and black beans: * Barbacoa: My favorite! Lots of flavor and definitely the standout taco. * Al Pastor: Okay, but fairly mild and could have used more flavor. * Quesabirria: A lot going on with this one. The flavor was good, but there was almost too much happening. * Carne Asada: Also more mild than I would have liked. * Sea Bass: A little dry, and the flavor was just okay. The rice was too dry for my liking, but the black beans were on point. Overall, I think I was hoping for bigger, bolder flavors, and unfortunately, they just weren't quite there for me. The atmosphere and service were great, and there were definitely some good dishes, especially the barbacoa. I'm hoping they can dial in the flavors a bit more because I'd love to see this place do well!

New spot + happy hour = the perfect post-shopping stop! A girlfriend and I needed some post-shopping happy hour, so we decided to check out the new Cien Agaves that just opened this week. And bonus--they have happy hour every day! It was definitely a little crowded, but we were able to grab a table in the bar area. With it being 100+ degrees outside, the frozen Cienaritas were absolutely perfect! The highlight for me was the carnitas on the cheese crisp--SO flavorful and definitely something I'd order again. We also tried the guacamole and queso from the trio, and both were good. The salsa, however, wasn't really our favorite. It was very watery and more like a hot sauce consistency. I was craving elote, so our bartender recommended the Mexican corn. I was able to request it off the cob, which was nice, but unfortunately it wasn't quite what I was hoping for. I think it would be so much better mixed with all the traditional elote toppings and baked together. Our bartender Hailey was amazing and took such good care of us. Considering they literally just opened, the experience was great! I'm definitely looking forward to coming back and trying more from the menu. Welcome to the neighborhood, Cien Agaves!

Food was great and the atmosphere was lively, the service was very fast and tentative. Food itself was fresh and tasted amazing, genuinely enjoyed eating her and would consider coming back. Lastly, the Churro Truck was pretty sweet to look at and their Churros were fantastic.

Great atmosphere from the bar area, patio or outdoor dining, and regular dining area! I love their happy hour food and drink specials. Would definitely come back.

Ceviche and chips with margarita. Tajin trim and frozen

Cien agaves offers indoor and outdoor seating. They have parking available. It might be a little hard to find. They do have accessible parking with a ramp. The outside and indoor are beautiful. They are beautifully decorated. They have a mural in the back that you must see. There are tables booths, and a bar. Upon arrival we were asked if we had a reservation we told them no and we did not have a wait. We went on a Wednesday evening. They have ok happy hour selection. I had a frozen margarita and it was seven dollars. It was a smaller glass, but the margarita itself was fresh and delicious. They asked if I wanted sugar salt or Tajin on the rim. That was a really nice option to have. We had the ceviche and it was OK. It needed more flavor and the shrimp didn't taste fresh. I'm not sure if it was made a few days ago or the same day but it just didn't taste too fresh. They do constantly bring out chip, if you want more. The waitress was nice. This place is a little bit more expensive than other Mexican restaurants. It's more of a sit down and dress a little nicer kind of place. I would say this place is accessible. At the door, it is push only it does not automatically open. The host often will come and open the door and greet. There is loud music this place is not quiet.

Tinga with corn tortilla
Kelly S.

Very big, tons of tables, TVs in the bar area. Staff is friendly and food came out quickly. You do have to pay $4 for chips and salsa. The salsa is very good and worth it. We got tacos and a bowl- the flavors are great. Food is not sloppy with a ton of sauce, which is great! Tastes healthier and fresher this way. They have Kaluha flan, but we didn't order it cause I prefer regular flan. Cadillac margarita was yummy, frozen house marg was good too (kinda small though).

Cheese Quesadilla Clasica, Tinga Taco, Enchilada Especial and chips!

So filling, so delicious, and great happy hour!! Loved the vibes and has that classic Mexican-style feel that we know and love!

Fun friend get together!

This time around, I ordered the albóndigas, and man, let me tell you, they were absolutely amazing! The flavor was on point, and everything just hit right. Honestly, some of the best albóndigas I've had in a while. Really, really good! It's a simple, no-frills kind of place with counter service and a little salsa bar. Nothing fancy, but that's part of what makes it great. Just good, authentic Mexican food that speaks for itself. If you're ever in the area, do yourself a favor and stop by. Support these little local businesses because places like this are worth keeping around! Five stars from me! Definitely worth checking out!

I heard that there are new owners which makes sense. All the old workers are gone along with the welcoming atmosphere and delicious food we had come to know and love. On our last visit, some in our party got birria tacos and they all came with decently sized chopped bones in them! When we told the server about it, there was no apology - he actually said that is how they make it?!?!? Let me get this straight, you put choking hazard sized bones in your tacos and don't tell anyone to watch out for them? I've included pics and video so you can see what I am talking about. Tacos are my favorite food on the planet and I've had birria tacos at many, many places (including Mexico) and have never encountered multiple bones in any kind of taco for that matter. Unfortunately their carnitas tacos are dry and flavorless. The Super Taco is still pretty good (no bones), but this and our recent experiences here are making us cross this place off of our rotation going forward. Tortas, thanks for the memories, it was a helluva run, pero no mas.

My wife can be pretty particular when it comes to carne asada, so she was a little hesitant when I suggested we share it. After a few bites, she couldn't get enough! The carne asada was flavorful, tender, and clearly high quality, and the burrito itself was packed with great ingredients and balanced flavors. The added guacamole was the perfect finishing touch. As much as we loved the burrito, Espo's has become a go-to spot for our family because of their Taco Tuesday special. Their 10-taco plate for around $12 is an incredible value, especially for families. We love that you can mix and match between carne asada, carnitas, ground beef, chicken, and shredded beef, making it easy to get something everyone will enjoy. The restaurant also has that fun, authentic hole-in-the-wall feel while still being a well-established local favorite. It's the kind of place that locals know and love for good reason. If you've never tried Espo's, I highly recommend giving it a shot. Great food, great value, and a true Chandler staple.
