I don't ever feel the need to leave negative reviews, but after the money I spent here and the experience I had, I felt that I should share... I went to this salon recently and got a fill from the gentleman that works there. I had never been here before, so I didn't know what expect from their services. The receptionist was friendly, but the gentleman that did my nails was not. When he asked if I wanted a reshape, I said sure and asked that he make them coffin shaped. He did not inform me that there was an extra charge and he shaped them terribly. I had to ask him to add powder back to the nails because he had made them so small. He added powder back but did not buff or file the nails to make them even. So, all of them were different shapes and sizes. He was also very rough with my hands. Horrible. I came about a week ago for a fill. The guy that did my nails was rude and serious the whole time. Even when I told him I didn't like the shape he had done and I asked him if he can fix it, he said no. But then went and "fixed" my nails. This was the final outcome. The last two times I've gotten Gel Mani with Don and I LOVED how they came out. This will be my new spot from now on. Kim was really cool with me until I told her I wouldn't be going back for my nails because it was to far for me plus she wasn't putting in much effort anymore. Nails where thick and wide. She also did my lash extensions but totally lousy job. One day was good and the next few times were horrible! She wasn't putting effort into her work. Last time there she overlaid the lashes so bad that my own started to fall off. Don't trust her lousy work!!! She is also VERY moody. Always wonder what mood will she be in because that was my sign how well will my nails would turn out. Also stopped getting my pedi's there as I got a bad nail fungus infection and had to take strong medication which is hard on the liver. Needless to say, fare well! read more

Hard to find this hidden gem since the sign upstairs is a little blocked out but thanks to a coworker I am no longer driving to over priced places in Beverly Hills! BUT 3 stars for the management. It recently was bought out by a lady & her 3 daughters (?) or 3 girls she's somehow related to. It's only been a week & I can already tell they're going to run it quantity over quality style. While I was there they were not only taking their appointments but anyone who walked in even if all the techs were already busy. I saw people sitting in the pedicure bowls waiting & waiting with more sitting in the waiting area. The vibe is a lot more different since the old owner & her husband left. Prices have already been raised, only a dollar, but still you should give your clients a notice before you just do it. No one likes the surprise when their bill is suddenly more expensive than normal! In the times I've been here I've never really heard a complaint from a client but this past visit someone was upset with the quality & I think got some money back. I got my nails done on Friday 11/16/2018 and literally on Monday 11/19/2018 one fell off and shortly after two more fell off. I ve been getting my acrylic done for years and I've never had this problem. Of course this was my first time and Ciel nails . Came in for the first time got a full acrylic set with gel. Was a little skeptical because there were some reviews that warned not to come here but I decided to do a walk in because I was looking to get my nails done after I had lunch. Very happy with my results. Tammy was my nail technician. She is fast and knows what she's doing. She asks if you want the acrylic thick or thin depending on how rough you use your hands on a day to day basis. I finally tried this place after 2 years going to CSUN and always pass by! I went with a friend and just wanted to get regular manicure, nothing fancy. The lady who did my nail (I forgot her name, but supposedly she's the only who can do dipping powder nails) was super nice and very talkative in the beginning. She cleaned my nails, talked about my wedding rings and the dipping powder nails she can do. I politely said no since I really didn't want to spend that much that night. She sent me to wash my hands and after I came back, she was so quiet while she was doing my nails. I can tell that she was kind of upset that I didn't go with her more expensive dipping powder nail options. I just thought that was weird that she was mad. Other than that, my nails were beautiful. I just went with a simple coral color and it lasted about 4-5 days. All the workers were so nice, even the manager. They were also super busy the night we went. I would probably go back again in the future to try her dipping powder nails. She did say it's about 4 hours, so I don't know if I want to stay seated for that long :) read more

Here's the problem with this salon; after it went under new management it became quantity over quality. Don't get me wrong, I LLOOVVEEE Sacha! She's the best at acrylics I've ever had. Shaping, filing, color; she's so good! And when she's not there, I trust David who is just as good! But yesterday I decided to add a pedicure to my fill and boy was that a mistake. First of all, I was told not to soak my feet in the water before starting which was bizarre already. Then, when I told Danny that I had ingrown nails because I wear close toed shoes a lot, he started trying to clean out the nails and cut them while my feet were still dry. I've never been in so much pain while getting a pedicure. And when he finally told me to put my feet in the water, the water was cold!!!! After all that he used the pumice stone and knowing that I have sensitive feet, he kept using the stone to tickle me on purpose. It was so rude and frustrating. Now, both of my big toes hurt because they weren't properly taken care of and the other toes weren't even cut or filed properly. Needless to say, I'd rather only have Sacha or David do both. read more

I have been coming here for a few months now and opted for the regular pedi with gel mani. This time I decided to give my hands a break from the UV exposure of the light that dries the gel. I did regular mani and pedi. All was good until I was given my check. I was charged $5 to remove the gel? I didn't dispute it however here are my thoughts. Yes they removed the gel and I didn't replace with gel but did replace with regular nail polish. I paid for their service and didn't go in just to have the gel removed. Regardless the gel needed to be taken off no matter what kind of mani I got. The fact that I proceeded to get a mani should have disregarded that additional cost. read more

I used to come here often when Patrick and Alex were here. I stopped coming for a while because I'm seldom in the area. Regular manis ($12) and pedis ($16) are really affordable here. Actually, even their gels are more affordable than the place I go to currently, but I'm very particular about how people work on me. Trish did a fantastic job on my nails this time around. She's very quick and efficient, but I think I'm spoiled by my regular tech guy because he's so gentle and still produces awesome work. I have come across other yelpers that have said negative things about the owner, and I can't speak for their experiences; however, I've gotten my nails done here numerous times and the owner has been nothing but sweet and accommodating with me. read more

I got to try this place again and this time had a better experience. I decided not to go with the manicure as they don't seem to last more than a day on me before chipping. No I'm not hard on them either, so I decided to go for acrylics instead and hope that it lasts longer. I included a picture. For the price-regularly $30 with the matted finish, I don't think it's that bad but I would try it again. The job isn't as clean and the edges aren't as fine as I would like it to be. Maybe I'm just picky but my mail beds look jagged. Then again the manicurist did tell me that it would be another $10 to clean just my cuticles. So I told her no because I don't think I want to spend $40 not ever having her as my nail tech. Besides that technicality, the owners are very fair and try to please their customers. 2 days ago marked my 3rd time visiting Ciel Nail Spa. I understand all nail salons are always going to have nail technicians gossiping about you, but the guy I saw made it extremely obvious and was incredibly rude. My nail technician was rough and unpleasant. 30 minutes after my pedicure I felt sharp pain, bleeding on the left-side of my toenail, and saw punctured skin at the tip of my big toe.
