We had been here 4 years ago and it was wonderful. This time, we had to send martinis back as they tasted of dishwasher detergent. The roasted beet salad was overdressed, chopped up, and mushy. The lobster bisque was tomato soup with a piece of lobster in it. Very disappointing. read more

I loved the scallops and shrimp tortellini. It was delicious! It was the first time in a while that I loved my dish. The shrimp were a decent size. The scallops were also nicely seared. I split this dish with my bf and they plated it nicely on 2 plates. Next time I probably won't share. I even used my leftover pizza crust to scoop up the sauce. It was a creamy sauce that was green. Not really sure what the sauce was but it was delicious. Food came out super fast and the drinks were delicious. It's a semi casual place and the staff are attentive. We also ordered the sausage pizza and it was good but nothing special. I like my pizza a little crispy and the crust charred. I had to use a fork to eat this pizza. My favorite dish is the truffle gnocchi, but everything I've had here or my family or friends have ordered have been delicious. Generous portions. Good service, sometimes a little slow paced. It came out in a very fair pace, just after finishing a nice garden salad. Add to the order an old fashion, made to perfection by the way, and dinner was complete. Only issue, they were out of the salmon dinner. That's usually not a big deal 'cuz places do run out of stuff but the staff really should let you know things like this before you place your order so's you're not scrambling to find something else. Visited for lunch with friends during the summer of COVID-19 restrictions. We dined outdoors under the enclosed tent, which was very nice. The service was excellent, as were the cocktails. The menu, which boasts "Italian comfort food," offered a nice enough variety that we were a bit flummoxed over what to order. So many lovely choices! I ordered the Swordfish Kabobs, an app special, and they were so good, I wished it had been offered as an entree. The mild, chargrilled chunks of fish were tender and savory. For my meal, I had the Golden Beet Salad - another winner! Just fab! My friends had Fish Tacos, Shaved Brussels Sprout salad and the Warm Baby Spinach salad. Cibo Matto is the best place for lunch or dinner! They have a great spot set up for outdoor dining. The service is attentive, and they have a variety on their menu. Most importantly, they also offer smaller portions for lunch (which would most likely be available upon request for dinner as well). My wife and I have visited many times and we generally enjoy the food but the atmosphere has degraded. On our latest visit, the service felt very rushed and at our typical after dinner drink at the bar, the staff began mopping the floor; cleaning the bar and generally preparing to close at 9:30PM. They were literally cleaning around us making us feel we were in the way. I understand that the Staff works hard and deserves to go home but seriously? Mopping up around the customers? On another note, what is with "Bread as an appetizer" for $3 at an Italian restaurant? Bread and oil at an Italian restaurant is part of the ambiance! Bread is breadth! How long before we see Sauce on the menu as an 'appetizer'. The small things make the difference with a restaurant experience And I'm afraid Cibo is losing the edge they enjoyed for many years. read more

Incredible experience at an easily driven-by modern Italian joint in Mansfield. The place was packed at 7p on a Tuesday, and the well-oiled host stand was no stranger to pre-Xfinity Center show crowds, zipping through the masses, seating ten tops, answering questions and calls, all while fulfilling take out orders without breaking a sweat. Props. The menu is tantalizing, featuring brick oven takes on classic and new age Italian plates. I absolutely adored by Brick Oven Shrimp and Scallops ($32), simply seasoned and served with rocket and pickled fennel over four cheese tortellini dressed in a pesto cream. Yes, seafood and cheese. Yes, it worked. This dish hit all the notes and I almost scraped the plate clean. Okay, I did. I scraped it clean. Don't @ me. Pair this with a pint of Lawson's/Two Roads Typecast Farmhouse IPA and I was a stuffed an happy customer. Definitely give Cibo Matto a go before your next show. read more

Extremely over priced for what it is. Very busy, claustrophobic and noisy. No place to park, had to park next door at a convenience store and then walk over to restaurant. Their dish prices are $3-$5 more than what they should/could be. My skimpy pour of bourbon was $17. Shame on you. But, they obviously can get it because the place was packed on a Wednesday evening. When a customer does not perceive value in their dining experience, they won't go back. Noisy, over crowded, no sense of feeling special with attentive service, no parking. Work on your prices. Offer some apps and entrees with lower prices. Your apps shouldn't be priced at what an entree is normally priced at. And your entrees shouldn't be priced at fine dining scale, because you are not a fine dining restaurant. Pasta doesn't cost much money...you can do it. One Positive note: One of the best bolognese sauces I've ever had...the pasta was perfectly cooked, decent portion. Over-priced though. read more

Another time I wish we could give half stars as this place is 4 1/2 for sure. They were very accommodating with our reservation. We started as a group of 7 for seating at 615 & some of us were late & we added an 8th person & they handled it very well. Our server did a great job! He was very personable & also worked w us splitting up the check which can be painful with a large group. They have a good bar with a good beer selection. I didn't have wine so I can't speak to that selection. They did a very nice job renovating the place, I'm not sure what it has been in the past, some chain restaurant, but it was very comfortable. The only reason I wouldn't give this 5 stars was the food. It was very good just not great! I had the linguine & clam sauce & the clams although numerous were the tiniest clams I've seen. Others at the table enjoyed their dinners as well but none were wowed by theirs & to earn 5 stars that's what it takes. Prices were reasonable. Been here a few times in the past and always had good food. We went on a Weds night and it was busy but got seated right away. Service was good and attentive but wow have prices gone up. Asked for a house salad with my meal and was very surprised to find out it was $12 when we got the bill!! Asked for bread which in the past came with the meal and found out they are now charging $3 for bread. I would think on a $32 entree it would be included?? Food and service was good but for those reasons I would not go back. There are other places out there that are just as good if not better and more reasonable. read more

It was a beautiful late summer day, so we ate outside on their very nice patio. Everyone on the staff that we dealt with was friendly and helpful. I had a very good beer from a local brewery and the short ribs. They were amazing! So tender I could eat them with a fork. My daughter loved her gnochhi and my wife lovered her pasta.
