The narrow space that houses this little cheese shop became our favorite stop in all of Bern. As a fan of exotic cheeses, we love these stores and seek them out in every country. It's an intriguing way to experience the local culture and its food.
Unfortunately, the lady behind the counter didn't speak any English which is rare in such touristy areas in Europe. But she quickly fetched a coworker who was fluent and very helpful! The store has quite an extensive variety of cheeses! Trying a sample of Gruyére, which is available in three different levels of intensity, the middle piquancy won us over. We bought a piece just large enough for my wife and I to enjoy for a snack on the steps outside the store. We highly recommend this lovely place! read more
