I spied a blue cheese from Romandie, a really potent Vacherin, goat and sheeps cheeses and, tis the season, raclette and fondue cheeses. This place also stocks beans from a new coffee roaster, Cococoro, located just down the road in Kreis 3. Wine, beer, among a few other things, are all neatly arranged for one's perusal. The schale is akin to a bitchin' latte a la 'third wave coffee' and, three times now, I've been very happy with both the flavor and the appearance. If you're a bit of a coffee snob, and wandering around the Markthalle (trams 4, 17, 13/Dammweg stop), then order a Schale at the bar. You'll probably be happy that you did so! During the day, there usually only seems to be one person working the bar (which is of fairly decent size) that also services the floor, so you may have a wee wait when ordering your drink.

The night that I came in they had a small band playing in the front so it had a nice ambiance to the space. I appreciated that it was warmed at least and it fit the bill for a meal under 10 CHF, and it was a decent lunch - not super filling but it was just barely enough food. Zürich, Switzerland…read more Of course, Sprüngli is another must stop visit when you're in Zürich besides the Ladërach. The location I went to is inside the train station. It's small but can comfortably hold a few people. There are plenty of displays to choose from. I wanted to buy some of their famous Luxemburgerli macarons but had a hard time deciding, so I asked the employee for the best sellers. She suggested three, and I went with those. She also mentioned they last 3-4 days and should be refrigerated immediately. It was a little treat for my daughter, and she absolutely loved them. It survived the 12hr flight . Perfect spot to pick up something special for yourself or to take home as a gift!
