My first time here. The guacamole was very fresh and tasty and the chips were light and crisp. I ordered the Baja fish tacos. They were okay. The homemade tortilla was good. The fish was okay. This place packs you in like a sardine. The staff can barely get around to serve you. We received the appetizer guacamole before we even got or our drinks! Forget about getting chip refills. Guacamole did not come with chips so we had to hope to flag down our waiter that had disappeared to Neverland. They claimed the ranchero sauce was kid friendly, either they lied or they messed up and gave us creamy jalapeño which is what the dish was originally supposed to be served with. We asked for ranchero because of spice. If it was ranchero do not give it to your kid who is not ready for spice, it was even spicy for me. Each dish out of four had a different looking rice on it and they all tasted funky. We never saw our waiter again- so no drink refills. Had to wait on check. Great food, great service...and the killer of that sad Don Pablo's down the street! What's not to like?!

Was really excited about the Sterling location as I frequented both the one in Fort Worth, TX and the one in Fairfax. Went opening day and though they were busy (as expected), the service was still good. They're still working out a few kinks--servers weren't the greatest, and the egg on my Southwestern enchiladas was overcooked--but I imagine these will be worked out once they are open for a while. I was also a little disappointed to see that they didn't have the daily specials that are at the other locations--not sure if this is something they will have in the future or not, but I hope they do. Overall, I'm happy to have another place to get good New Mexican-style Mexican food (ESPECIALLY green chile!) and Tex Mex. read more

This place is awesome!!! The wait was about half of what we were told and everyone was so nice. From the hostess to the bartender to our Server D.J. The food is amazing and you get massive amounts for such a low price. I was shocked. D.J. Walked us through the various salsas. She was friendly and just all around awesome. We had to track our server several times, our drinks weren't refilled and I ended up walking up to the bar multiple times to order food and pay the bill even though they had at least 10 ppl just standing around looking at us. Excellent food, excellent service. We were originally headed to Don Pablo's and, finding it closed, noticed the Chuy's nearby and decided to try it. The atmosphere is pretty strange (diner feel with pretty fresh music and basically everything homemade, where I'm from these things don't mix often), but it's lively and overall nice. Our server, Isha, started off with a joke and was pleasant and attentive from there. We were given chips and salsa, as well as a creamy jalapeno sauce for dipping, all of which were excellent and made in-house. And my entree was also amazing. I got the vegetarian combo, which had probably the most excellent chile relleno I've ever had. You could tell it wasn't frozen, because the pepper still had some texture, and it was absolutely brimming with cheese. The vegetarian enchilada was out of this world. Rather than just stuffing it with cheese or beans and calling it a day, there was a vegetable medley, including zucchini, onions, and corn. They took the extra time to make a vegetarian plate something that even meat eaters might order, and the attention to detail was really nice and unexpected. I will definitely visit again. read more

My first time going to Chuy's last night. I noted that it looked like the silver diner I went to in Reston but with a Mexican flair. I passed by it every time I would go to the shopping center adjacent to it. I was curious and wanted to try it out. The food was delicious and spicy. The menu had a lot of options and the meal portions were satisfying. Josey (my server) was great getting the order and staying on top of things with the tables. The only negative for this place would be the parking and the location of the front door, which could be a choke point for people coming and going. What a big change we saw here this evening. It was bad enough that I have to re-evaluate returning. Tortilla Chips in tiny pieces, Salsa 3 times hotter than usual, Fajitas super bland as well as the Rice and Beans. Service friendly but so unrefined slapping thinks down on the table and not refilling Chips. Did the kitchen management change? Why such a bad turn about? Chuy's food is delicious, the interior is nice to look at and the service is great. The first time I went we were served by a gentleman who was just so awesome and knowledgeable. Went to Chuys in Sterling and it was good. Sat at the bar and I love the fact that they have a nacho bar for happy hour 4-7pm. The bartender Jasom was nice, friendly, and welcoming. He told us his favorites and made delicious happy hour margaritas great bartender. Most of the rest of the staff seem like teenagers and as tho they lack experience.The host didn't greet us. They seemed too interested in their own conversation, so we sat ourselves at the bar. Enchiladas were good. read more

Been here twice. First time they forgot the appetizer. Second time my beans came out cold so I returned the dish. When they brought the new dish, the rice was barely warm! Our server was AMAZING...she was super personable and tried hard to help us find something we wanted,,,everything seemed to be a a bit "off" from what I wanted. When I heard of Chuys opening near me, I instantly went over to check it out. And so far so good. I've been twice and their burritos are excellent with lots of flavor. Our server recommend the boom boom (might've been bam bam) sauce on my burrito and it was a hit to me. Only problem was the waiting time as our food took nearly 45 minutes to arrive. Nonetheless, it is a phenomenal new restaurant that I will be at many times in the future. read more

My girlfriend and I came in this evening and walked into hosts/hostesses talking at the podium taking a moment to greet us because of their conversation. We then were seated in a very empty dining room, only about 2-3 families. We looked at the menu and knew what we wanted while waiting to be served. We did not see anyone coming to us nor like anyone was making it a priority to greet us and get us started. The blue corn tortillas are a great twist, and the generous chicken & spicy accents made it ideal! The service was upbeat and efficient, and overall, we had a great experience. Suggestion - be a bit more generous with the serving size of the guacamole! If diners want completely authentic Tex-Mex, they'll need to avoid the chain restaurants, but if they want much better than On The Border & Don Pablo's with a family-friendly atmosphere, they'll enjoy Chuy's! Two things good about this restaurant is their location and the "salsa" they serve with chips. I ordered fajita chicken tacos and they were cold. Chicken smelled funny. Waiter was rushed with our order - couldn't seem to write what we wanted and my wife got chicken quesadilla- when she wanted veggies. I would like to start out by saying that I too was at Chuy's on 5/5 as was a reviewer below (Jim M). My husband and I arrived at about the same time the other reviewer did, 5:20 or so. We were told about a 40 min. wait so we took our pager and waited. The place was PACKED, probably due to the fact it was Cinco de Mayo. We got our table at about 40 minutes like the hostess said. The interior design is pretty retro, we liked all the kooky decorations like the hubcaps on the ceiling. We waited about 5 minutes til our server, I believe her name was "Tequila" (that's what her name tag said) approached us. She brought us chips and salsa and proceeded to explain how everything worked. She told us about the free queso, etc in the bar area. We had a drink and ordered. My husband had the elvis presley combo and he loved it. A LOT of food. I had the chuychanga. Excellente' All in all, a very nice, positive first time experience. The food was great, service was fast. Our server told us that many of the people working there were from another store. They were brought in to help out til the permament staff are fully trained. In my opinion, this was very smart on Chuy's part. We have been to many newly opened restaurants and it was almost always a disaster. New staff do try but it is always about a month or 2 until they work out the bugs. With Chuys bringing in seasoned employees to assist, it made for a very good first time experience. New tex-mex restaurant in town. I must say I was impressed with our server Anna's quick and attentiveness throughout our dinning experience. Service is very important to me so just based on that this place deserves a 5 star. Food was good too, I had the beef fajitas and my fiance had the "chuyschanga" both 2 thumbs up and fairly priced our entire bill was $32 ! Which is great 2 entries a drink and one of their homemade sauces creamy jalapeño yum. We didn't get a chance to check out the bar but we figured wed come back when the weather is warmer to go to the bar and also utilizes the patio. Chuy's is now in my restaurant rotation. read more

Dined there today. The server was luke warm, not to friendly. As far as food. I had the The Elvis Presley Memorial Combo consisting of Beef Tex-Mex enchilada, cheese Ranchero enchilada, chicken Tomatillo enchilada, a seasoned ground sirloin crispy taco & homemade tostada chips dipped in chile con queso. The cheese and Tex-Mex enchilada were good but the crispy taco was over greased and broke apart when I picked it up, didn't eat it. The chicken in the chicken tomatillo enchilada was tough and very dry, also inedible. The rice had a burnt flavor and I'm not sure why there was a lone chip with cheese on the plate, just didn't make sense. I took most of it home for my dog to eat. Don't plan on returning. read more

I was not impressed by this place. The only thing that was actually what I expected was the margaritas, I mean I would hope that people couldn't mess that up too badly...My boyfriend and I went after wanting to try this place since it opened. I had never been to a Chuy's before so I assumed it wouldn't be too bad. It seemed like the whole place was run by 18 year olds who didn't seem to know what was going on. Our waitress didn't know the drink or food menu and even suggested something that wasn't even on their current menu. Our food came out quickly, but my quesadillas were basically little tacos folded over (definitely not what I expected), my boyfriends macho burrito was very good and hot, I wish I had ordered that instead. After we got our food our waitress pretty much disappeared without really checking in to see if we needed anything. Finally after waiting around she came back with our check. I don't think I will be in any rush to try this place again, I think I will stick to what I know and go to Uncle Julio's instead. read more

We took my husband out for dinner on Father's Day and thought we would try something different for a change. I am not usually a Mexican food lover because over the years, the food was more fast food tasting rather than authentic to me. My children had heard that Chuy's was pretty good so I went on line and read a lot of reviews which said the same thing. Also, one of my gages as to whether a restuarant is good or not is if it has a crowd, i.e., there are lots of cars there, and since this Chuy's has been open, there is always lots of cars there. Anyway, once we got there, we had to wait a little, but being Father's Day and have a party of 7, we expected that. The food was superb. Everyone enjoyed their food. As everyone has said, they bring out baskets of tortilla chips that are thin and crispy with delicious salsa (my favorite) and a jalapeno ranch sauce which my granddaughter loved. I had the comida deluxe meal which was very good, and one of the highlighted meals as one of their most popular ones, some had salads, and fajitas. The salads were h-u-g-e!!! They looked delicious and I was told that they were. I also actually liked the guacamole which is quite unusual for me, because usually do not like it. I was told that I liked this because it is freshly made. I will tell you that there is definitely a different taste. We all loved everything we had, and as many others have stated, we couldn't eat it all. We all had to bring part of it home. I suggest that you do not drink so much before your meal, because that is part of why you get full so quick, especially, since you get refilled as soon as your drink gets down. We did not get dessert because as stated, we were full. Now, I have to say, we had the greatest waiter, Mario. From the time we were seated, he was there. He knew the menu well and answered any questions that we had. He came back often to ask if we needed anything more. He was so personable. If you go there, I highly recommend him for your waiter and I want the manager to know that they have a great employee. read more

Both were very attentive, friendly, went above and beyond by providing the pricing for your queso which I did purchase. They both are great employees and represent any company well.
