Great food, great atmosphere!!! Ya can't go wrong eating at Chuy's! We loved there creamy cucumber dip and was very excited to find out you can purchase some to go!!! We had a small wait, it was around 7pm when we arrived, after about 20 minutes and a margarita later, we were sat in the back of the restaurant at a booth. Juan was our server who was a one legged man in a butt whipping contest! Even though he was very busy, he seemed to always be there when we needed something. Our food was hot and fresh!! We hadn't been to this Chuy's in over a year and nothing has changed. The food was still as awesome today as it was then! My husband and I go to this restaurant about 2 times a week and we love the staff because, they are all awesome. I recommend this location in Selma, TX if you're looking for a Chuy's location. Will be going there again soon. I usually order the Elvis Presley (with 3 enchilada's and all steak meat and a ground beef taco) which the extra taco comes with the meal. My husband orders the Chicken Fajita and he loves that meal. We also order "Tres Leches" and they are fairly big for the price. Their Tres Leches tastes great and it comes with strawberries on top with a slight drizzle of (caramel?). We usually take the Tres Leches desert home so we can have it for desert. Service was so horrible. They were clearly understaffed. I had to send back my food after the kitchen got my order wrong. Waited another 25 minutes for them to fix it. The food was just ok, probably did not warrant the price we paid for dinner though. It also took forever for our server to bring back my card after we were finished so we just sat and waited for our card for 15 minutes. I'm finished eating and I'm ready to leave. Went in for birthday drinks last night. Our waiter Todd was very nice . We were able to order drinks as soon as we were seated. I always order the frozen mango margarita. It's my favorite there . I believe Chuy's is underrated at times. This place should definitely be 4 or 5 stars easy. Our waiter was top notch and consistently made sure we had fresh chips and dip. I personally like to combine the ranch dip with the salsa. The only thing I can say is their sauces are like crack to a foodie. You just can't stop eating no matter how hard you try. I chose to eat the chuychanga and added boom boom sauce, which is this delectable green chile sauce mix that is phenomenal. The retried beans were heaven, and the rice was very flavorful. My wife and dad had the flautas platter. They didn't speak once the plate was set down if that gives you an idea of how much they loved it. The tres leches cake was really good too!!! Sadly the food quality is typically worth the trip, but the waitstaff and the way this place is run is almost always subpar. It's a shame. This time tho, even our food came out lukewarm. I think when you have a place that has a reputation for good food, then you don't have to try very hard when it comes to customer service. It took an hour for us to even order our food because we were overlooked. It's busy. I get it. But telling us it would be a 20 min wait and it turned out to be closer to 40, and then the bartender was a jerk while we waited, isn't great customer service. After we finally got seated, we watched the waitstaff, over and over, walking by the chip dispenser and reaching with bare hands to grab handfuls of chips, dip them into dips nearby and eat them while standing over the prep area. It was disgusting to watch. Our waitress was really sweet, but it seems she is way overworked. The manager came over and apologized for the series of unfortunate events. We really appreciate that. She even paid for our food and gave us vouchers to come back. Super generous. I know these guys work hard. I just wonder what kind of customer service training they receive. We have been coming to this Chuy's location for over 15 years. We stopped on Saturday night for a quick dinner and a drink. When we want a consistent good meal with a great margarita and tequila options this is where we go. It was unfortunately extremely disappointing. I know during the beginning of Covid they reduced their menu like a lot of restaurants did but I was shocked at how small the menu was. No more of our favorites! The food we ordered was subpar and seemed like it was over nuked in a microwave. The food on the edges of the plate were burnt. My husband ordered his usual favorite tequila, Herradura to be told they no longer carried it due to change in management. Sunday afternoon we decided to go get Mexican food and neither of us has been to Chuy's for years, so Chuy's was the choice! Good choice!! The decor is fun and the atmosphere is bright and open. The menu is scaled down due to the pandemic but it has the highlights. They put the chips and salsa on the table almost as we were sitting down! Yes! I had the special peach margarita and I am happy to report it had tequila in it! We both had a ground beef burrito after a plate of nachos. The food was plentiful, tasted great and the price fair. The server, Michael, was professional and kind. Thanks to Michael our server, for making us feel special! We had fun there, ate well and enjoyed great service. First time sitting down in this restaurant to eat. We were a party of 12 adults and 2 minors. The menus is vast, so there's something for everyone! Ordered some enchiladas and some tacos with a toasted serrano pepper and a frozen margarita. The portion was decently sized, the pepper was FIRE in a pleasantly surprising way. Definitely had the kick I was asking for. As for the margarita, the bartender did an awesome job! 3 stars because the waiter was scarce! They have drink specials (margaritas run ~$3.50) to make your happy hour deal even better. They did do a special once on watermelon margaritas----they need to bring it back. Their Chicka Chicka Boom Boom is pretty popular (white meat chicken in a tortilla, smothered with spicy queso sauce). Their fried shrimp & baja tacos are pretty good --and I don't even like seafood!
