Loved the 80s rock music and fun atmosphere. Our server was nice enough and the food was ok. But, we felt we were being rushed only 40 min. after being seated, and it was quite a while before our food came out. There was still an hour left to closing and it wasn't even busy. There were many empty booths and tables. But people kept coming to our table..I was four bites in when I was asked if I wanted a to go box. Then they kept returning asking if we were done when we clearly were not. Our server did come back and say "no rush" after he sensed we were getting a little confused by it all, but I was already a little offended and didn't understand the treatment we were getting. The food was great but .... I do feel like for the price of the fajitas they could add more meat to them , me and my hubby got the fajitas for 2 and honestly there was enough meat for 1 , 2 of my boys got the burritos and they were great huge very much worth the price , my other son ate the chicken quesadilla and they were awesome as well . We will be going back but will not be getting the fajitas although they are really good they are not worth the price due to the portion. read more

Our family met at Chuy's tonight for dinner. We eat at this location at least once or twice a week! Food and service are always the best. I would normally give a five star rating! Tonight things were different. Our service was not good. I found a bar code in my veggie enchilada and it grossed me out. I couldn't finish my dinner. I told the server and it was explained to me it must have been left on the veggies! We asked for another margarita and he didn't bring another one. The food made me very sick! When we got home my clothes smelled the place.. Does not come close to the Donkey. We will never eat there again. The place looks good but that's it.. My wife only took two bites of her dinner, could not finish . When the waiter came over and ask what was wrong we told him his not good. If you don't like the food ask for management. This review is based on 2 visits. I'm all about giving places a second chance. We love the Chuys in Humble so we figured this place would be the same. Nope! The first visit was a couple of months after they opened. The creamy jalapeno dip was entirely too salty and only tasted like ranch. Nothing like the other locations. It took forever for our food to come out but they were pretty busy so we understood...until we got our food and it was cold! There is absolutely no good reason for all plates to be cold. My daughter ordered the tortilla soup with no avocado. It was chicken & broth with a spoon full of pico as the only veggie. Since the soup was cold, the cheese formed one gigantic clump with the tortilla strips. When she removed the clump there was nothing left. My quesadillas were cold and chewy. We went back Saturday 9/15. They bring out the salsa & jalapeno dip and chips. Again, the creamy jala dip was SALTY and so was the fresh salsa! Then I noticed my chips were salted too! WTF? What is with all the salt? I wanted something light so I ordered the chicken combo that has a chicken tostada and chicken fajita taco. I guess they put my plate under heat to melt the cheese on my tostada so it made everything on my plate hot including the lettuce and my guacamole. The guac was brown and had brown chunks and it was warm. Yuck! Tostadas in my mind are supposed to be light, fresh, crisp and crunchy. This had about 2 lbs of beans so it caved in when I picked it up. Oh, and the fajita chicken taco had 3 gristly pieces of dark meat and a pinch of lettuce. Ants and Hair! I brought a customer to this location for lunch yesterday. We were sat in the middle booth by the window in the bar section. After receiving our chips, dips and queso we noticed there were ants on the table and bench seats. We alerted our server immediately and moved to a high top table. She brought us a new basket of chips just in case the ants had gotten into them... Not new dips or queso... The manager was made aware of the situation and thanked us for letting them know. He said he would call their pest control company and have them come out ASAP. We then ordered our meals: a burrito and fajitas. As we were waiting on our food, the hostess sat people at the two booths surrounding the table we were previously seated at. Both booth's benches are connected to the booth we were previously seated at, so it is safe to say that they had ants at them as well. With all of the seating space that location has, it is horrible that anyone was seated in that section. When our food arrived, I found hair in the fajita side dish containing the sour cream, guacamole, etc. At this point, I had lost my appetite completely. I called the manager over again and showed him the hair in my food. He apologized and comped our entire meal. He also offered us a gift certificate for 2 people up to $30 to return to the restaurant. I gave the gift certificate to my customer to use if he so chose to go back. As we were leaving the restaurant, they were seating people in the exact booth we originally sat in with ants. This was the moment we both decided we would never return to this restaurant. I see it as extremely disgusting and wrong to seat patrons in a booth that contains ants (nonetheless the surrounding areas)... Terrible drinks! Ordered a michelada let me tell you its no were near a michelada it was very bad and full of hot sauce! Couldnt even drink it. As far as hot sauce n chips sauce was bad no were near a tex mex sauce ure basically eating tomatoes or cream sauce . I ordered enchiladas they were bad no flavor and bland. Food was too spicy for me. I was told it wasn't spicy. The women's restroom & the family restroom were nasty - urine on the floor & feces on the toilet. Some young-sounding female was in the handicap stall for a long time talking on her cell phone. She knew I was waiting. Complained to the manager, (I didn't get her name), who said she had just seen four young females coming out of the restroom together. She said she was sorry I experienced that & told me good night, then walked away. All this occurred between 6 pm & 8 pm. on Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2019. This restaurant is new, so I'm cutting some slack and giving 3 stars, but our experience tonight was not so good starting with the hostess stand. All seemed sarcastic and unorganized. The manager didn't do a great job either by coming by and giving orders in front of guests that somewhat showed his frustration with the hostesses. One threw her head back and rolled her eyes when he walked off. Then the frustration followed in how our party was taken care of. Mind you our party was large, 30 people, so yes there were challenges, but the servers assigned to us seemed to not be on the same page at all. They looked frustrated in every way with everything from taking drink orders to handing out the bills which was such a problem in the end that one person offered to pay it all because of all the confusion. I hope all learned from tonight how to better handle a larger crowd. There probably should have been 3 dedicated servers assigned to us or 2 very strong ones. I'm not sure that they were that strong as their frustrated and impatient faces said otherwise. They just seemed very unorganized in general tonight all the way around. read more

Chuy's was a disappointment. At least this location was, I haven't tried others, and I probably won't. The food was mediocre at best. Too many spices in all the food on my plate. Most choices on menu are different variations of the same dish. Even for a Tex-Mex restaurant, it was pretty bad. Service was slow, it took a quick word with the manager to get out drinks out after about 10+ minutes. Not at all what I expected, considering reviews. Horrible first time experience. The food was average but the manager and service was awful. We had a party of 5 and ordered margaritas. The margaritas were extremely tangy and no alcohol, the tangy that gives you heartburn after a sip. The waitress came by and asked how the drinks tasted and we answered honestly too tangy and weak. The waitress willingly offered to make a 1 better drink, we didn't ask to speak to a manger or get anything free. Manager Mark came darting and stood above us and very condescending asked what the problem was, before allowing us to explain he said the alcohol level was over the limit and if we didn't like it he could pick it right up. He also suggested drink a shot if we were looking for something strong insinuating. I'll definitely be telling everyone about this and will never come back. Horrible horrible service. Amateur night. Ordered margaritas no salt, arrived with salt, sent them back. A Waitress took them back to bar and proceeded to circle her fingers along the rim of the glass to remove the salt and then return the same drink to my table. Asked for a manager who tried to make it right. Clearly a training issue to be forgiven right? Wrong! the management here is clearly lacking. No silverware or napkins, When it came time for the check we were charged for the extra incorrect maragarita. Waited an eternity for the waitress to come to take our check asked her to take off the extra drink. The entire bar staff was goofing off the entire time we were there including our waitress whose boyfriend was clearly loitering in the bar distracting her and the rest of the staff. Clearly heard her drop the f bomb in the dining room. Waitress came back incorrect Margarita we were charged for still. Do not waste your time going here. We were looking forward to a new restaurant in our area but were extremely disappointed in both the food and service. You would think that the management staff would show some professionalism and be interested in how their guests feel about their new restaurant, but they were just as disinterested as was our waitress. They seemed more interested in joking and snacking at the community table across from the bar with the waitresses than going by tables to speak to their new guests.. The quality of their food and sauces is below what you would see in a TV dinner. I ordered chopped onions for my enchiladas and received them when I had finished eating. The atmosphere is great, if you like rock music so loud at your Mexican restaurant that it is difficult to talk. The kids in the table next to us liked it though, the way they were screaming and jumping up and down on the booth seats next to their parents. There can always be some problems with going to a restaurant in their first week of opening but clearly things will not be getting any better by the way this store has been staffed from their management team down to their service personnel. My family and I love Chuy's. We always go to the one in Webster and have NEVER had a problem with them. On Tuesday Oct. 24 we decided to try this new Chuy's near our house because it was my daughters 9th birthday and that was where she chose and the waiter was nice and cool my kids liked him. First of all every time we go to Chuy's we get both salsas with chips and this new place gave us only the tomato salsa and one of my kids and my husband loves the green ranch salsa so my son asked for it and it was brought out. Then we received our food and my daughter and I shared the combo fajitas for 2 so I made myself a taco and bit into it and the chicken was not fully cooked it was tough to chew but my husband and kids don't like for me to say anything or complain so we didn't eat the chicken. Then I told the waiter secretly that it was my daughters birthday because I heard them singing the Chuy's birthday song to someone on the other side of the restaurant and the waiter later then called my husband to talk to him secretly and told them that they cant sing to her because the Happy Birthday song was copyrighted so my husband said ok that's fine and the waiter brought her out some sopapillas. Then while we were there talking and getting ready to pay they sang the Chuy's birthday song to a second person on our side of the restaurant and my husband and I just looked at each other and my son said why didn't they sing to my sister and my daughter was like I wanted them to sing to me.
