This Neighbors sits in the large mixed use development in the Aspen Grove/McEwen area of…read moreFranklin/Cool Springs and is a solid addition to the area and to the Neighbors brand! They occupy a great corner in the complex, which is a stellar location and allows for a good sized patio in addition to the dining room and bar area. That patio also makes bringing the pups a lot easier. As with all Neighbors, they are all about sports and with walls and walls of TV's, you cannot miss the game or event you are after! Food and drink here are solid. If you have never been to Neighbors, it is true sports bar food with wings, nachos, burgers, sandwiches, pretzel bites, etc...and a few house specialties, but mostly your standard stuff. And that is not a bad thing, while simple, they do it well and I have never been disappointed with anything I have ordered here. Service is friendly and good, but efficient is questionable as they recently introduced a flag based system where you put your number card on your stand and when your server notices it, they come your way. My only issue is this takes the natural check-in's of service away and while the idea is good in theory, execution is still a bit clunky as we had to seek out our server twice after having our card displayed for several minutes. Overall, big fan of the Neighbors brand and really enjoy this location in Frankin!

The Pond is a self described dive bar located in a strip mall area in Franklin Tennessee…read more I like to patronize places that aren't chains and aren't super popular spots when I travel, as I enjoy being around common folks in areas that I go to. The Pond doesn't disappoint. It is exactly what one would expect when seeking a dive bar atmosphere. A little ratty, a little rowdy and a whole lot of fun. The coup de grace was they had Guinness on tap, which was completely unexpected. We traveled to Franklin looking for an alternative to Broadway in Nashville on our first night in town. It is worth the trip. Franklin is a very old town with great old architecture and buildings over 200 years old that still look stunning. The Pond was the real reason for my drive down although it was our last stop on our tour of Franklin. The staff was friendly, the Hamburger and fries was delicious, and the beer was cold. They have many options to choose from on tap. They have Darts inside and a couch you'd find down in your friends basement that he found on a tree bank trash day, but that simply adds to the dive bar charm. We stayed for one drink and the burger as we were exhausted from a red eye flight the night before. If you're looking for a dive bar that stays open late and apparently gets packed as the night goes on, this is the spot for you. Most places close early in Franklin, so this is apparently the after hours spot that everyone ends up going to when all other options are closed. The Pond reminded me of a few dive bar spots in Vegas, and I have to recommend you pay them a visit, if for no other reason, just to say you've been there.

If you're looking for a casual place to grab a bite, catch the game, or just hang out with friends,…read morethis spot is a great choice! As soon as you walk in, you'll notice there are plenty of seating options. Up front there's a lively bar area along with lots of high-top tables. If you're looking for a more relaxed atmosphere, grab a seat by the fireplace. On nice days, they open the garage doors, which gives the place a great indoor/outdoor feel. There's also a second bar in the back with several comfortable booths. To drink, I ordered the Drake Margarita, and it was very good. For my entrée, I went with the Buffalo Chicken Minis. You can order either two or three, and of course I went with three! The buns were soft, the chicken was cooked perfectly, and they used just the right amount of buffalo sauce. I added blue cheese for dipping, and wow... sooo good! They also come with your choice of a side, and the Tots were a great pick. We also shared the Rainbow Roll, and I was pleasantly surprised. The sushi here is definitely worth trying! Service was a bit mixed. Our server did a good job, but the bartender was very slow. I didn't receive my Drake Margarita until my Buffalo Chicken Minis had already arrived, which was a little disappointing. Overall, the food, atmosphere, and variety make this a place I'd definitely come back to. If you live in Franklin and haven't checked it out yet, it's worth adding to your list!

We were trying to flag her down for 10 minutes while it almost seemed like she was deliberately avoiding looking over; even the one time she glanced over while I was waving, nothing happened. Awkwardly, I had to walk over to the counter to place my order, and while I was there, I even told her a couple of people at my table were ready to order as well, but she did not visit the table once... It even got to the point where my colleagues decided to go elsewhere. However, since I already ordered and I didn't want to cancel, I decided to stay behind, which I missed out on a few important company tidbits that were discussed at the other restaurant.

Gotta qualify the 5 stars thing up front because this is a bar, not fine dining, and it's…read moresmoking-friendly. I'm not counting those as quality issues but rather selection of a target audience. It may not be for everyone in that regard. But I'm often out late when traveling, and usually bored, so that's how I found this place. It's open late, and that was enough to make me try it. But it's the socialness that brings me back over and over. For someone who doesn't drink, I visit a lot of bars. I find this a particularly welcoming one. Rare is the bar where people are as friendly and social as here. In a lot of bars, I come and go without even feeling noticed. Here, I have met and chatted with quite a number of people. Hayley, the late evening bartender this time, is one of the hardest working bartenders I've run across anywhere. A lot of my friends are service staff, many of them bartenders. So I know what it takes to do well in that. It's not easy. There is a lot of subtlety to keeping a bunch of people calm and content when they're drinking. She was serving the whole room, not just from behind the counter. She took the time out to (re)teach me play pool, something I've not done for decades. Then she checked back periodically to make sure I was interacting with other people and having a good time. A lot of the people she seemed to already know, but she was tending to each in a way that seemed appropriate to them. I was really impressed, and in fact extended my stay in the area by a day because I was having such a good time and wanted to come back the following night. And the food is decent (for a bar). The kitchen isn't available quite as late as the bar, which stays open surprisingly late. Still, they've planned for that and have 'brown bag' offerings of sandwiches you can buy when the kitchen itself is closed. I think that is really clever, and I wish more bars did that. All in all, I like the place and if I get back to Nashville, I'll make a point to be back here.
