The veggies were cooked well and not raw like I've had at other restaurants. The corn tortillas tasted like they might be house made and fresh. I also appreciated the salsa bar. The restaurant itself was clean and well decorated. However, the women's bathroom had a bottle of soap that was 95% water and didn't leave my hands feeling very clean. The hand dryer was also unplugged and there were no hand towels. What really brings my review down is the service. The service was definitely subpar. Our waitress was also the bartender and paid more attention to the people at the bar than our table. She didn't check on us throughout our meal, and only refilled my water once when she brought our food out. When we were done, we didn't know if they'd bring a bill to us or if we were suppose to go to the front desk, as she never said anything to us. Every single staff in the restaurant was on their personal phones, leaving the restaurant to take personal calls, and fraternizing more than working. We also witnessed several food safety violations including our waitress sticking her hands in her pants in the back to tuck her shirt, and another waitress playing with her hair excessively, all without washing their hands before interacting with customers again. While good food, I don't know that I'll go back given the experience we had with the staff. I really question cleanliness when behaviors like that are happening in front of customers.

The corn tacos felt and tasted like they were home made which is another huge plus. The only negative about our experience was the service. Our waitress was totally absent and only came to check on us once during our meal. We both sat there with empty drinks and it was the only downside to an otherwise great experience. Another weird thing, the staff were trying to get a specific song to play and kept skipping songs for like 5 minutes straight. Every few skips, they'd run out of songs so we'd have to listen to ads which really threw the vibe off.

I had been craving their southwestern cuisine since moving here, & Sopapilla came close! Recently had Sunday lunch there with a party of 7. Unfortunately, many times, it's when the rush calms that service at many restaurants wanes. Apparently, there was an issue with/in the kitchen that greatly slowed our service, & our waiter tried to joke about it & wasn't always attentive for drinks/refills. 2 in our party didn't get their food until much later & it was the wrong thing. I think the rest of us enjoyed our food when we got it. I say all that to tell about the professional & generous way the owner has handled trying to make up for our less than ideal experience. I went to Chuy's twice in one week because it's so good! The fajitas are delicious and big enough for 2 to share...that is, if you're going to down two baskets of chips before you even order! Definitely recommend going M-F from 4-7 for the $3 house margaritas and free queso. The second time I went, I ordered a "chuychanga" with their special pepper cheese sauce. It was awesome as well! Finding parking at Chuy's can be rather frustrating. You're supposed to drive one direction around the whole restaurant, but people don't pay attention to the signs. I think I circled at least 10 times before I found a spot. Luckily, it was up front. Service was alright both times, but it's so busy that they need more team service with refilling drinks, etc. I noticed that they do have food runners though, which helps when your server is sat with a party of 8+ overly needy people. Both of my issues are due to overcrowding, but that's a small price to pay when apparently everyone is town has discovered this delicious (and inexpensive) new Tex-Mex restaurant in Cool Springs. read more

I love this place! always had good food and good service. I know this doesn't happen all the time but, I wen;t in with my daughter to eat at around 6PM on a sunday. The place was busy but not maxed out. I was seated by the hostess in an area that was packed with tables and servers. I sat there for 5 minutes without anyone saying, I'll be right with you, would you like some chips or water? Then another 5 minutes went by, waiters and servers walking around my table and nobody said a thing. 10 minutes doesn't seem like a long time, but it sure feels like it when your hungry. I waited a few more minutes and finally walked out. I ended up going to Cozumel's in Cool springs. Got the service I was looking for. The sad part is, I'm not that hard to please. read more

I love this Chuy's and it has been my go to for a long time if I ever wanted to celebrate something or have a night out with friends. However I recently went to this chuy's for my birthday dinner and was in the restaurant for over two hours. We waited for over an hour for our food. When our waiter brought our check about 30 minutes later he was probably gone with the card for about another 25 minutes which seemed sketchy. It was only me and my boyfriend and it took so long to get our food. Thankfully, the manager was very kind to us and after we let him know what happened he took care of the bill for us. We had a very disappointing experience at Chuy's in Franklin. Despite clearly and repeatedly requesting a vegan meal -- no egg, no meat, no fish -- we were served chicken. This was not only careless but deeply hurtful, as we emphasized our dietary needs multiple times. Dining out should be about trust and respect, and this experience broke that trust. On top of that, we noticed the staff collecting dishes in a loud, careless manner, banging them together, which added to the discomfort of the visit. We had such a great experience at Chuy's, and a huge part of that was thanks to Derek, our server. From the moment we sat down, he was incredibly personable and welcoming! Derek kept our drinks topped off without us even having to ask, and he made sure our chips and salsa were always full. About half of those visits were in the bar area, where the service has repeatedly been less attentive than what I would expect from a full-service restaurant. Because of those previous experiences, I specifically requested a regular booth during my most recent visit. I was told that the bar area was the only section available and that I did not have the option to sit elsewhere. When I asked why, I was informed that they did not have enough servers to open additional sections. I certainly understand that staffing challenges happen, and I appreciate the employees who are working hard. However, from a guest's perspective, it's difficult to understand why a restaurant would continue seating customers if it does not have sufficient staff available to provide a reasonable level of service. Being told that my only option was to sit in an area where I have repeatedly received poor service, or leave, was disappointing. What makes this even more frustrating is that it feels as though the situation might have been handled differently if I had arrived with a larger party. As a single customer, I felt like my dining experience was being treated as less important. My intention is not to criticize the staff personally. Everyone I interacted with was polite. Rather, this seems to be a management and staffing issue that directly affects the customer experience. If certain sections cannot be adequately staffed, it may be worth re-evaluating how guests are seated and communicated with, so customers don't feel forced into an experience they have already found unsatisfactory. I enjoy Chuy's food and would like to have a better experience in the future. Unfortunately, based on my repeated visits, this location has not consistently delivered the level of service I expect when dining out.

The flavor of the chicken seemed artificially smokey -- like perhaps someone was heavy handed with the liquid smoke..? I didn't even finish half. The beverage situation was troubling. They don't offer tap water (?), so if you want anything to wash down your chicken bones, you will be paying for it. To me, a hallmark of a Mexican restaurant is the presence of greasy, aromatic corn chips in the center of the table. Unfortunately, the closest I came to a corn chip was on the TV - a contestant on The Masked Singer was wearing a corn-cob costume (pictured).
