Over the years Chuy's remains a family favorite. Friendly servers, unlimited chips and salsa. About the cheapest place I can feed my whole family, even compared to fast casual places like Moe's or Bluecoast. We always leave satisfied. Weekdays have happy hour until 7, which means free queso and meat on the thurnderbird bar (yeehah!). And, if you don't want the mammoth sized plates on the menu, they'll do any burrito and some of the enchiladas in a half or mini portion, priced accordingly. i used to love this place. i feel as if it has gone a bit down since my last visit (about 8 months ago). it's not bad, and i'll definitely go back, but it's not at the level still that makes me want to speak in hyperbole through my whole review. while we were waiting on our table the dh and i grabbed a seat at the bar-i kind of wish we had stayed there, the bartenders are super personable and friendly. i spilled off my usual "i don't know what i want, but i want clear liquor, kind of fruity, but not too fruity, but still lots of liquor, but no dark liquor..." thing, and they made me an awesome drink. when we were paged for our table, we excused ourselves and mosied on. i know the restaurant business, i know it can be stressful, i know busy times are crazy rushed and you have to really stay on top of things, but our server just wasn't too friendly. he wasn't mean, and he didn't insult us, but he was just very much more "business" focused--it's chuys! lighten up! i like fun servers, but this just wasn't that experience. still good though. just not spectacular. read more

So started off with a batch of chips that I always love, and the appetizer tray. Ordered the biggest combo plate like I had done times before. So where I am saddened is that on prior occasions when we came, the plates where more packed with food and they just seemed to be higher quality. Last time they barely fit everything on 2 plates and this time it was all smashed together on one. Taste seemed to be ok but not the "look forward to" moment I was wanting as we returned this time for dinner. May next time they will return to their former glory. read more

I work in the Cool Springs area and mostly eat lunch at Whole Foods but today I decided to mix it up a bit. I have been amazed at the amount of people who flocked to this place after it first opened up. Not wanting to blend in with the crowd, I decided to wait until the new-ness wore off. I was finally able to visit this eatery today. The decor was typical of a chain restaurant, stuff hanging everywhere, but it was Mexican themed. It was neat looking actually with the tree limb lined ceiling, gorgeous tile work on a few walls. The patio area looked fun. The idea of the hand-rolled tortillas was nice. Everyone was friendly. I ordered the Combination #6 for lunch, which included a beef taco, cheese enchilda, and a chicken chalupa with mexican rice and refried beans. I was expecting at least middle of the road Mexican food but oh no. The tortilla chips, which were not seasoned but were the perfect thickness) and the taco were the best things in my meal and the only things that I can eat besides the salsa. The salsa tasted fresh but there was something missing that I just couldn't put my finger on. The enchilada itself was extremely bland and the texture of it was horrible, it was sort of gummy almost. The chicken on the Chalupa had no flavor. The Mexican rice was also bland as was the refried beans. It is possible that I caught the kitchen on a bad day. I may go back to have a cerveza and some queso but this was the beginning and the end of my culinary adventures at Chuy's. read more

I absolutely LOVE this place!!!! I could make a meal out of the chips and salsa I try to eat something different every time we go there. But it is all delish!! I tried the watermelon margarita last night and it was amazing. We have always had great waiters an waitress's, the longest we have ever waited for a table is about 30 minutes but that was because we wanted to sit outside in the patio. I went to eat here with my whole family. So we had a group od 8. Pretty busy place. It's your normal American/Mexican cuisine. Can't beat Cozumels in Smyrna,TN. One cool thing, they had a variety of different kinds of salsas/dippings for your chips, while your waiting on your food. Very busy loud restaraunt. But worth a try. I usually get the Chicken Taco salad at a Mexican restaraunt. was'nt the greatest. But can't complain. Now my dads Fajitas were excellent along with trying my wifes chimichanga. Give it a try. But if you have a fav local spot, Chuys wont beat it. But its a fun place. read more

We've been going to Chuy's for years. There is no better place to get steak fajitas....tender and soooo flavorful! Their homemade tortillas are amazing!! Be sure to order creamy jalapeño to dip your chips (and everything else) in!!! If you still happen to have room for dessert, the only thing you should order is the Tres Leches Cake! It's OK I guess! If you're expecting authentic Mexican then consider this out of the equation. Fun atmosphere, good service but the food was lackluster at best. Sitting on the open outdoor porch with a cold Corona would be fun but I can do that at home and spend a lot less. For the money, there's no place better. We've been here on several occasions, and never had anything but a great experience. Great take on tex-mex. It may be a chain , but they do it right. I've had a lot of their menu offerings, and always been happy with my meal. The jalapeño ranch dip is awesome, and the Baja shrimp tacos are some of the best shrimp tacos I've ever had. My steak was too salty, my taco salad was too healthy, my marg was undrinkable and too strong, and we had to wait so long for a table. All the guests were ravenous and pushing the way to get a table at the bar. And we had to wait for 5 minutes after our food came to get a fork. Totally disappointed but it was so packed people will keep going back anyways. read more

Horrid......coming from the SW USA, this was not even close to anything SW, Mexican, Spanish...more like slop. Guac had large chunks of Avacado in it; the noise was unbearable--could not carry on a normal conversation. The enchiladas were, well they didn't resemble anything I've ever seen..over cooked chicken and greasy. In town on business and happy to see a Chuy's. From the minute I sat down I knew I would get good service. Mark - a relatively new waiter I think - brought out the creamy jalapeno for their awesome chips. He made a great recommendation for the Hatch Green Chile Rolls - like egg rolls but with chicken, green chiles, onions, and more. While it was decent tex-mex food, it was a lot spicier than your typical fare and I wasn't all impressed with the quality of food for the price we paid. Our service was good and the chips were delicious (I prefer thin and salty), but overall I would have preferred going somewhere else. read more

We arrived on a weeknight just after 7:30 with a large party of 20+ people, more than half being kids & teens - post sports game. The manager worked quickly to devise a seating strategy and provided us with a realistic timeframe. We knew it would take time & that we would be separated. This place is one of the dirtiest places in Franklin. Sorry to say. I have been going there, for many, many years and I finally stopped. I called corporate to let them know, but obviously, from my very last visit, it is still filthy. Dirty patio, dirty menus, dusty fixtures, wobbly tables, dirty napkin holders, unkept workers (some) and many more issues. This place needs to shut down for an entire weekend and clean the entire restraunt and I don't just mean mopping, sweeping and wiping tables. I don't understand how many still go here, being it is so neglected. I guess I just tend to really look around places. I can only imagine the kitchen. I use to love their food, but now I can't get past the atmosphere. Bummer. Why can't these managers clean up their places for customers? I feel like everything I touch is dirty in some way there. Oh, well. Sorry to sound so rude, I am just tired of going into places and having to add them to my do not go list. My family and I are running out of places to eat at. Great option for Texas in Tennessee missing Tex-mex (which is different than Mexican, y'all!) little pricy for our family of 5 esp with drinks, so we don't go as much as we would like but has been on back up place to eat when others are booked/busy. I've been to this restaurant twice in the last 5 months and both times have been disappointing. The food was horrific. I had beef fajatia's and they were stringy and had no flavor.
