We have gone here for years regularly and enjoyed the experience. Good happy hour specials. However, their recent ban on dogs on the patio has caused us to find a new place. We have small dogs we enjoyed bringing along. They recently banned all dogs due to a one time issue they explained. Too bad for us. Know before you go, dogs are unwelcome on the patio. read more

First time here and staff was welcoming! Busy, but wait staff checked in several times at our table and food came out fast. We ordered the fajitas with extra shrimp and it was delicious. Rice and beans were good, seasoned correctly. Queso was okay (had better) but chips were fresh and good. Margarita was delicious and well priced. I keep wanting to like this place and literally every single time I try, there is something wrong with my order or the bill. Today is the last time I tried. I ordered a cali burrito and asked to substitute the grilled veggies for rice. I was charged $2.75 for the rice, when the two previous times I ordered the same exact thing, I was not charged, as its a SUBSTITUTION. When I asked why I was charged for a substitute I was told "Sorry thats just what they said to charge". To pay $15.25 for a chicken burrito is ridiculous. I order the same burrito at West Coast Taco for $10. This is just bad business. Had I known there was a $2.75 charge to sub the veggies (which wasnt the case the last 2 times I ordered this) I would have called west coast taco to begin with. read more

Wont be back!!!! Went with several others. Server was very nice but didn't attend to us very well. 4 or 5 of the group got chicken grilled and none liked it or could even eat more than a bite or two. They eat the rice and left the chicken. We brought it to server's attention and he said okay okay. Some lady (assuming manager but she was too rude to introduce herself) came up to the register and informed me that we would not be given credit for the poor chicken. (Despite being told by another staff member it would be taken care of). The chicken smelled bad. My daughters refused it. She finally agreed to credit half. Not about the money but rather how rude and uncaring and unprofessional she was. We will never be back. BTW....my wife is still sick today from the meal. AVOID this place until they get their act together. read more

So yummy! We came in on a Saturday night and got seated right away. Our waitress was very attentive and helpful when ordering. I got the shrimp tacos and my boyfriend pollo bandido. We both loved our meals. I forgot to snap photos before we dug in so the photos posted here were taken after we had already started eating. We also got the guacamole for an appetizer and I really enjoyed it and would highly recommend it! Their salsa was a bit spicy like another review mentioned so next time I'll try and ask for a more mild salsa but everything else was amazing! Can't wait to go back! read more

Stopped in last week to check out the latest incarnation of Mexican in The Maples shopping center. All in all, pretty good. No wait (opening week) and service was friendly and quick. We tried the queso and was a bit spicy for my taste, but I am admittedly a wimp. The salsa and chips were OK, nothing special. Hubby and I shared a quesadilla dinner, it was very full and cheesy, quite filling. We plan to return soon to try some other entrees, we live right behind this shopping center, so anywhere we can visit via golf cart is a bonus. Hope they are here to stay! read more

I've been a long time Cinco fan having frequented their White Bridge Road location more times than I can count so I was super excited to visit their new Franklin spot! UPDATE: O.K., gang. So I got ahead of myself and the second visit was...you guessed it...swept in as part of a group. As expected THIS IS NOT THE TIME FOR GROUPS! The food was still excellent, and the staff's hearts were in it, but our group of nine with only 7 staying for dinner was - across-the-board - just too much for the scant number of employees to handle. And the tamales...THIS IS A PLACE FOR TAMALE LOVERS! - - - - - - - I had a pleasant experience at this new location. Having fallen out of like with Cinco de Brentwood more than a decade ago...I was reluctant to visit. The interior is much the same as previous tenants and the place feels family-run. Yes, the crowd was large and the restaurant's short-staffed. Yes, some things arrived off the expected timeline and sequence. Chips were almost forgotten and arrived in a frenzy when the miss was noticed (staff noticed without being reminded!) The food was good. The margaritas were good. The service was friendly and the staff were gracious. It's what you want and a full house is good to see. The carne asada was perfectly cooked. Salsa was fresh and just spicy enough. It's a solid win for Cinco de Mayo and I'll be back. Maybe not with a group, just yet, but definitely back. read more

Thoroughly mediocre food and worse service. On a not so busy Wednesday night it took 10 minutes to place a margarita order, even longer to place an order, then even longer to get our check. We both had burritos. I ordered mine with green sauce but it came with red sauce. I didn't say anything as I just wanted to eat and get out of there. The only blessing was my wife doesn't do well with spicy food and this food had exactly none. The worst part for me was knowing if we had turned right instead of left I'd be enjoying Garcia's much superior take on Mexican. This restaurant is located on one of those cursed locations where no one stays in business long. I expect this one to join that list soon. read more

Good classic Mexican restaurant! Great place to go with a family. The burritos could definitely be a bit bigger though...my supreme burrito was almost the size of an enchilada...other than that, great food! Love the chips and salsa. read more

Normally I LOVE Cinco De Mayo and they are typically reasonably priced. I didn't want a whole meal tonight so I thought I would go cheap and order a side of shrimp quesadillas and I asked for it to be topped with cheese dip. On their website it says a side quesadilla is around $5... so I'm thinking OK two quesadillas should be about $12. Keeping in mind that two fajita quesadillas are only $14... They tried to charge me $20 for a side item of quesadillas truly ridiculous the cheese was cold and there were only like 3 shrimp. Worst experience I've ever had at a Cinco de Mayo will not be recommending this location to anyone! *also note I have ordered this exact thing at numerous Mexican restaurants and it has never been more than $10 even with inflation!!!!!* read more

This is a nicely decorated restaurant and the waitstaff was not too bad. I ordered a combo of a chicken burrito and chcken taco. The food served, was nicely presented. However, the entire meal lacked a Mexican flavor. I am not saying it should be spicy hot, there are many Mexican spices that can impart a little flavor into the meal. The plain tomato sauce poured over the burrito with some cheese added didn't quite do it for me. The chicken used inside of the burrito and taco tasted like it had been boiled and sitting around all day. So, the decor had a Mexican feel to it however the food was far from Mexican. Love this place! So glad they came to franklin. My favorites are anything with steak. My hubby likes the Chile Colorado. Great chips and salsa. Best refried beans I've had in the states. Best Mexican restaurant in Middle Tn. Food is always fresh. Service is friendly and never too slow. I've been to their locations in Brentwood, Franklin, Mt. Juliet, 10th Avenue, and White Bridge Rd. White Bridge is the only location I've ever been disappointed in. Seems like it may be under different management as the food is not served the same. Monday night, open tables, 15 minutes to get seated, no one else in reception when we arrive, seated 15 minutes before water, order placed, 30 minutes tick by while tables that came after our 4 top received drinks and food, apologies from server, 35 minutes from ordering, 45 after seating, cold mediocre food arrives. If there was lower than 1 star I would have made that choice. To be avoided with much better choices nearby. They should have stayed closed. read more

We've stopped by there twice in one week. Both times we had amazing service from two different servers. The food was also delicious. The homemade guacamole was seasoned well and so fresh. The steak in our entrees was also very flavorful. We definitely will be going back. read more
