I used to love this place, but I'm done with it. I couldn't be more grossed out. After finishing my food, I noticed something strange with the spoon I had been eating off of, and realized it was two spoons stuck together. When I peeled the top spoon off from the one underneath it, I realized to my horror and disgust that it had food on it from the person who used it before me, and was causing it to be stuck together. They had rock music playing. It's a little loud and a little too rocky for me. When I go to a Mexican restaurant, it's nice to hear Mexican style music our server was Dylan. She was good, but never asked if we wanted more water. If you go during happy hour, which is 3 to 6 PM they have some good deals. First, it's hard to be a Tex-Mex restaurant in the heart of Tex-Mex country. I will say I've been to Chuy's in other cities. And the food is consistently good. So why not 5 stars? Honestly, I can pretty easily find real authentic Tex-Mex in a lot of DFW metroplex. It maybe suffers from the same thing a lot of national Tex-Mex eateries do: it just doesn't taste like the real thing that I'm used to. And I like supporting long time real TexMex restaurants. It's better than Pappasitos. But is it Dos Molinas? No. But if you like awesome margaritas it's hard to go wrong with Chuys. And I will also say their prices are pretty good to me. YMMV. read more

I actually really like this location! It's usually pretty busy, but we've never had issues getting a table in a reasonable amount of time. It's a large venue, so it can be pretty loud on weekends or during peak times. I've always been a huge fan of Chuy's happy hour! Their chips, queso, and spicy jalapeño are some of my favorites. I've tried a variety of their meals, though their Southwest Enchiladas are probably my favorite. Our server was excellent: despite it being busy he was super attentive and very funny! Chuy's Isn't What It Used to Be! I really wanted this place to work out, but it's been the same story at every Chuy's we've tried -- Frisco, Southlake, you name it. It's just consistently bad. We used to eat here all the time pre-COVID, but since they sold out to a corporation in 2024, the quality has tanked. The meat is fatty and bland, and the food just tastes cheap now. Compared to spots like Blue Goose or Mi Cocina, Chuy's is at the bottom of the barrel. Service was fine, but the chips were stale and cold, which is disappointing since that's usually my favorite part. The patio's nice, but we were pretty much ignored due to other tables and a larger group. And $8.99 for a tiny cup of queso? No thanks. I'd give zero Stars if I could. The police report is in case of identity theft. My drivers' license and conceal carry permit are lost or stolen. If you're looking for a place that has solid and consistent Tex-Mex every time you visit then I would highly recommend Chuy's. The food is hot and fresh every single time. The portions are rather large so you won't leave hungry. The service is normally great, but can be slow sometimes if they are slammed, but that's understandable. The ambiance is definitely dog lover meets swap meet meets grunge meets Mexican fiesta meets crazy eclectic haha. The dog pics are great though . We are visiting from Utah, where there are no Chuy's locations, and we were excited to return after loving it years ago. Unfortunately, the experience started off frustrating. We had a group of 12, but the reservation system only allowed bookings for 6. When we called ahead, we were told this was their policy and that no special accommodations could be made. Even after entering the reservation twice, we still waited over 40 minutes with small children. This felt poorly handled. When someone calls ahead explaining they have a large group, it seems reasonable that a manager would be informed and plan accordingly. This is not how you run a business, and it was disappointing. That said, the servers were amazing. They were attentive, kind, and worked hard to meet all our needs. Not a fan of the salsa, actually think it's terrible but the jalapeño ranch and queso pair well with the salty chips . The drinks are dynamite, I had two different margaritas and they were so refreshing with fresh squeezed lime juice, everything is made/ prepped in house- perfection. I really love eating here, we usually come here for date nights and sit in the bar area. The staff is really great and fun to be around. I love the deluxe chicken enchiladas and the loaded queso. I'm not always a big fan of frozen drinks but they have really great drinks, my favorite is the black berry rita with Tito's. We found ourselves here on a Saturday after a very long and exasperating debate on where to go for lunch lol. There were four of us. Two people are from Houston and swear by it and the other two people were starving so off we went. We were fairly early so it was not too busy yet but this place had a wait by the time we left. It was flavorful and filling. I had a taste of the chuychanga and I can see why it's a popular choice. The chicken inside was seasoned and tortilla was fried very nicely. The beef fajita meat was tender but was lacking flavor. Eaten as a taco with everything made it better but alone it was bland. We did get the creamy jalapeño sauce, but I personally liked wasn't a fan of it as a chip dip. I don't think it went well with corn chips. The queso that we also ordered was delicious. It's either cold sitting on their rack when I get there or hasn't even been made yet. Once again an hour quote time every time. It's been nearly eight years since I last visited Chuy's, known for its Tex-Mex cuisine. I once again had my personal favorite: two chicken enchiladas with rice and beans. This time, I opted for the red sauce instead of the creamy tomatillo sauce, and it made the dish delicious. The meal was served hot, which was an improvement from my last visit, where changes and enforced orders caused some dissatisfaction. The menu has also seen some upgrades. I started with a margarita on the rocks with salt, which was perfect alongside the chips and salsa. The service was good and timely, with our server, Lily, being pleasant and attentive without being overbearing. She made it enjoyable to relax and cool down from the Texas heat. The restaurant wasn't overcrowded, and the noise level was just right for having a conversation without raising our voices, making the dining experience delightful. Went here for the first time in 5yrs since I moved and I wished I have tried this place much sooner! The food is wonderful but also the service we received was just amazing! Everyone has been to Chuy's. I'm not sure what I can provide here that's helpful other than our one-time experience at this location during the pandemic. We visited on a Friday because Chiy's offers patio dining, preferable during Covid. The parking lot was *packed* with a 45 minute wait. Chuy's requires a phone number in order to notify customers by text when your table's ready. This always feels like a privacy violation to me. I resisted it and the hostess assured me "we don't do anything with it". But, as a data professional, I'm doubtful that keying personally identifying information into their POS system results in "nothing". But, we were hungry and what's a bloke to do? So I gave it up. We were seated on the patio, which of open air, faces the parking lot, and definitely catches a breeze. We happened to be seated near a large table that was quite loud. Normally we aren't bothered by this, but had both had stressful days and found the frequent outbursts uncomfortable. We didn't want to make a big deal and found the server very laid back about moving us. Unfortunately, we were sat near "the other loud table" having some families that were letting their kids roam the patio freely, picking up food off the concrete, shouting, etc. Also a bit distracting was a server who was very huggy with a customer at the table near us while unmasked, which seemed like it wasn't the best coronavirus safety practice. Chuy's in house chips stole the show on the food front. Warm, crispy and holding salt well, these tortilla crisps compliment Chuy's which is also quite good, though it came out the first time barely warmer than room temperature. The manager promptly offered to replace it with a pleasantly warm bowl. I ordered the Steak Burrito, which was very tasty and more than I should have finished in a single sitting. Rice was flavorful and more than the standard Texmex throw-away plate-filler. I never really eat refried beans, so can't comment on them. She ordered Chuychanga and found it bland, boiled chicken in a tortilla with a sauce. Management offered to strike it from the ticket. So, overall a mixed experience, partly due to fellow customers. High marks for chain-restaurant service despite the apparent Covid breach. Also mixed on the food and ordering experience. And, I really don't want them requiring my phone number in order to seat me. We've always like Chuy's, especially during happy hour with the chips and salsa bar open, with usually has various salsas, bean dip, and cheese sauce. Yummy! I had the Taco Plate and I was pleasantly surprised. The taco shells appear to be made in house, tho I can't verify that. They have flat bottoms so they hold more than the normal round bottom shells. They are super flacky and crips. There was 3 on the plate, which was a great surprise, as I only expected 2. Comes with beans and rice, all of it was really nice. We went for a business lunch this day, so I didn't get pictures of the food or establishment. It was clean, music was a bit loud, especially with as few people that were there, we had to discuss business over the music as opposed to the normal noise from patrons. Staff was good. Felt like they could have paid more attention to the table, especially since there were only 4 other tables with patrons at them at the time we went, 1130-1230. She checked on us often and her recommendations were spot on! The El Ranchero and Boom Boom sauce has a little kick to it, but fairly mild and so good.
