My family inevitably ends up going through Taco Bell drive thru which is within a rocks throw distance from here. And Taco Bell is okay, but there are times when you crave actual Mexican food right? So we decided Villa Grande would get our service. When we walked inside it smelled so amazing! I was starving and ready to eat. The host ended up also being our server on this occasion but he was friendly and got everything just right. I ordered the Pollo de crema which has oftentimes tasted not so good at other restaurants. However, my chicken was cooked fresh and the cream was delicious! I need to make a special note about the salsa, it's SO fresh! I couldn't stop eating it. I even poured some over my chicken once my entree arrived. It tastes homemade.

Absolutely loved the Margarita! We kicked off our Saturday lunch with this Jalapeños and pineapple margarita. It was refreshing and not too sweet. I ordered the Chicken Tortilla Soup: it had a good broth base and the cheese was perfect. My only complaint was I felt they added pico del gallo in my soup so it was a more tangy then I like with the lemon added. The chips are not not made in house so they aren't greasy. I asked for the hotter salsa but the red is flavorful if your not a spicy fan. My partner order the Carne Asada y Poblano with rice and beans. I loved everything, fresh veggies the sides were good, steak was cooked as wanted. The added plans I, cheese, grilled shrimp was all a plus!

It's just so good every time! If you haven't tried the tacos de Alambre please do yourself a favor! I'm a big fan and this is probably my favorite Mexican restaurant in the area.

Bowl of chicken Tortilla Soup. Crispy beef taco. Chips and salsa.

Fantastic lunch today! For $10.78 + tip, I had a huge bowl of tortilla soup and a beef taco with water. Cheaper than most fast food places and way healthier! My server, Rosa, was friendly and helpful.

This is one of the best Tex-Mex Mexican food restaurants I've been too. The restaurant decor is very traditional and eclectic. They have music playing but it's not too loud that you can't enjoy having a conversation over dinner. They do get busy on certain days at certain times but it's that popular. I've tried a couple menu items but the best is the Steak Fajitas. The meat is always seasoned and cooked to perfection - moist and tender. Even though I'm a queso connoisseur I am not crazy about the queso. I do enjoy their salsa and the chips are perfect and never over salted.

Empty booths

This is/was my favorite Mexican Food restaurant. 5pm on a Friday - early, 3 of us asked for a booth. I have sciatic nerve issues and the softer seating helps. We were told the open booths were only for parties of 4 or more. I, embarrassing my husband said "Are you kidding me?" She said no. Of course they stayed empty throughout our dinner. Maybe I'm being picky, but what happened to Customer Service? Sad to say, I'm done.

Food is always fresh and service is great. Margaritas are strong and prices are reasonable.

Christian, the manager, and his incredible team took exceptional care of our entire group, making everyone feel welcomed and well attended to. Christian truly went above and beyond by reading our holiday story aloud so we could all fully participate in the gift exchange. Such a thoughtful and memorable touch that made the event even more special. The food and drinks were outstanding, and the presentation was truly next level: beautiful, creative, and impressive across the board. We are officially fans of this restaurant and look forward to visiting often. Highly recommend for both special occasions and everyday dining.

While I don't care for chunky salsa, I would want it to be a little thicker and more flavorful. It came with two other salsas, which I did not care for. I did have to ask for a refill of salsa. I always get excited seeing mole and spicy options on the menu, so I got the cheese enchilada with mole and spicy chipotle sauce. I wasn't warned about the spice level, and it was very spicy with a strong chipotle taste that I couldn't eat. I also wasn't checked on to make sure I enjoyed the food, and I had to flag the server down for my check. I was expecting this place to be better.

Their salsa and bean dip were different than I've had at other Mexican places which was nice. We ordered the chile con queso which was nothing special and would not recommend. Tasted like regular ball park nachos and cheese. We ordered the chicken fajitas for two - I'll begin with their overly sized tortillas. I don't see the reason behind this and they don't provide enough meat and onions for the use of all 6-8 tortillas provided. Ideally you and another person will eat 3 total before the meat is gone. Now - WHERE THE HECK are the onions. We were provided with such a small amount that we had to proportion it so we each got some. Ideally, it would only serve one fajita with the size of their tortillas. They should really figure out the portions here. SECOND - for it not being busy not sure why our food took an hour before we received it. It's like they could only prepare one tables food at a time. Our server didn't apologize until she handed us the bill. Will not be coming back as there are better Mexican options around.

It's rare to find people who combine professionalism with such a personal touch. It is a neat place inside but that doesn't overcome the shortcomings. I had Mexican food many times in the last couple days so I opted for the jalapeño peach pork chop. It was honestly tougher than leather- I really needed a sawsall to cut it. The flavor was fine. I knew I was in trouble when it arrived with a couple Libby's peaches fresh from the can sitting on the pork chop. My sides were tasteless mashed potatoes and steamed, mushy veggies. Chips and salsa, average. Queso with flavorless ground beef, average. My son had the birria tacos which were good. Not great by any stretch- it wasn't a traditional recipe and didn't have the traditional Oaxaca cheese. They used cheddar or another orange cheese. He said "good", I will call them "average": He ate all of the rice so it must have been decent. I didn't try a margarita but the ones I saw looked pretty typical for such a place big glass and probably average. I wouldn't eat here again. $50 for 2, no alcohol and I had water. We did get an order of Queso. There has to be better Mexican places than this nearby.

I've had Hispanic meats that tasted straight up like a salt brick, but this was good. A good salty. The salad and rice were delicious, wow, I ate that up. Complimentary nachos came with three dips. The service was also great! My husband was disappointed that there were not any beers on tap (bottles only), but they had a delicious mixed drink menu. However, we were very disappointed in the atmosphere. We seated towards the back of the restaurant in direct line of sight of behind the "bar" where an employee's child was playing and a great view of ketchup bottles (who wants ketchup in a Mexican restaurant). Gabriela & Sofia's is in the $$ to $$$ price range, and at this price point ambiance should be continuous throughout the restaurant. Our unfortunate seating location sadly put a damper on the overall experience.
