Chuy's has been a favorite since they opened in Clarksville, IN . . . however, after our last visit that's no longer the case. We elected to eat in the bar since they have they have the mini appetizer bar with free chips, queso, beans, pico, etc. What was supposed to be hot - was cold and the queso had the consistency of water. We asked the waiter if he could warm-up our queso and he brought out a new batch for the bar - it was luke warm at best. We also requested some of their creamy jalapeño dip - it was perfect. Our food (Fajita Chicken Burrito and Hoosier Pollo) was just okay - the Hoosier Pollo was severely dry though. The service was good but the food has taken a nose dive from previous visits. read more

My daughter asked me to look up at the Tower of Terror light fixture above our table... she was talking about the amount of dust! Very gross. Always love the chips! First time here. We are from Texas and my home city is building one. I would definitely go to the Corpus Christi one hoping it's as good as this one. Food was on point. I ordered the Friday special, pork tacos. They were delicious. It was 3 pork tacos with onion/cilantro. Green chille rice which was somewhat spicy but tolerable and refried beans. The refried beans were okay. Tried our Boss' fajita plate, fajitas were was delicious. Plenty of food on that fajita plate too! The chips and 2 selctions of salsa were delicious. Chuy's is one of those places that you can consistently rely on for good food. I have a few standards that are in constant rotation and this location does a great job at meeting or exceeding my expectations every time. The only complaint that I could possibly give is that every time I've ordered a mixed drink at this particular location... they're kinda terrible. Like, "getting punched in the mouth" terrible. If you aren't drinking, you don't have a thing to worry about. If you are drinking, I'd advise sticking to beer or something really, really simple. read more

I normally don't like to give bad reviews but here it goes. The food was garbage. It had no flavor to it and it was just. Not good. The only good thing about this place was our waitress. She was nice and helpful when it came to ordering a drink for myself. I was unsure about it since I'm very picky with alcohol so she let me sample it first before I ordered. Don't bother. Menus need better descriptions and examination. Waitress started off helpful and quick with waiting on us but then we lost her and we had to get a different waiter to help us. Chips where stale, food had no flavor, tacos where soggy, rice was dry and had no flavor. Walls where dirty looked like they hadn't been cleaned in months had splattered food on them. Bathrooms where horrible toilet paper all over the place, out of 4 toilets only two where able to be used the other two was clogged. Amazing food and large portions, my husband and I always order to go as our dog usually is with us. The carry out employees are always so friendly and never to rush us. Just give them a quick call when you arrive and they come out to you! I enjoy the Chuychanga dinner and it has become my ultimate favorite. When all you can do is experience pain and your taste buds can't taste anything anymore, something is wrong. I don't know how anyone can eat this. I was pretty disappointed with this place. After my wife's suggestion for Chuy's, as she grew up in Texas, I was excited to try it. The first thing I noticed is the menu selection was pretty poor for a Mexican place. I felt the menu was very lopsided with chicken dishes. I kind of wanted a beef enchilada, but such a thing doesn't really exist unless you "custom" make it. I went with a Southwestern enchilada, because I like salsa verde, and fried eggs on things that usually don't have fried eggs on them. I thought it was very bland and dry. The rice, on the other hand, was extremely spicy (pretty sure they gave me the "green chile rice" even though I didn't ask for it). I don't mind spicy, but this was ridiculous, and still didn't have much flavor. The only good things about the meal were the chips & salsa, and the charro beans. read more

I didn't see anything on the menu with ANY Texas theme. This place is MEXICAN. 2. Service was horrific. Fifty minutes from seating time to eating time on a Tuesday night is unacceptable. Waitress accidentally spilled tea on the table. Her solution was to hand me and my 13 year old daughter paper napkins and walk off. 3. Sanitized silverware is a joke. So being an Austinite and having the original Chuys down there as one of my FAVORITE tex mex spots, I was absoluely amazed to find one in Indiana of all places. Seeing the festive neoen lights and craving a taste of some decent tex mex up here in the midwest we decided to have dinner here. Although this is far from Texas and it's roots, this Chuy's definately did not disappoint. From the New Mexican Martini's to the beef fajitas, this place did a great job and satisfied my hunger for tex mex. They also had the salsa and chips I have craved, and to top it all of the jalepeno/cilantro ranch that complements their entire menu. One of my wishes has come true, which is finding a decent Tex Mex spot in the midwest, next is to move this further north to Chicago where I live now!! read more

Stopped here on our way to TN. I placed a Togo order and when I got there I texted like it said. No response which was fine as I needed to use the restroom. When I got in I said I have a Togo order and went to use their bathroom. The women's bathroom was disgusting. I can't tell you how dirty and stained the toilet seat was. I went to get my order which was sitting on the back counter. I had two orders. I asked if there was a straw and a female employee, younger, maybe 18 replied, ' everything is in there'. Well out to the car with the bag I went and l guess what? NO NOT EVERYTHING WAS IN THERE!! There was only one of each, napkin, fork, knife spoon. Had to make due with this. Glad I travel with an enormous role of paper towels- doesn't everyone? Now let's discuss this crap they made us. Tacos and rice dish- the temperate was Luke warm. Rice was cold and tasted very bad. Meat in taco has a funky taste. Ordered my husband a chicken burrito. It should have been called a bean burrito as finding the chicken was pathetic. It was supposed to have cheese and they provided a few shreds on top of the burrito. This was probably the worst Chuys I have eaten at. This reminds me of a line in lethal weapon 2. I've definitely had better but this place will do considering it's about the only Tex Mex there is anymore. Their service is usually good and the atmosphere is nice. We visited Chuy's for the first time on Mother's Day. Very cool atmosphere. Definitely out of the ordinary. We were informed that there are small wrestler action figures screwed into the ceiling all over the restaurant. Who knew? I had a HUGE burrito (Sunday Special) that was good. Honestly, a little better than average. But my wife had some fish tacos that were extra-ordinary. The chips and salsa (they also had some white salsa that was fantastic), were right on point! The kids loved it. In fact, our waiter, John, was extremely welcoming and courteous. With every sip of water I took, he was there to replenish my cup. My one year old incessantly threw the sugar packets, menus, and whatever else on the floor. John was quick to sweep it up without complaining once. We told him it was our first time, so he had a manager come welcome us and give us a coupon for free queso. Overall, a very pleasant dining experience. We will be back. Probably not a dining staple, but a couple times a year, for sure. read more

We ate there on a Saturday night about 7:30 and to my surprise w got right in. There seemed to be a lot of confusion as to who was taking our drink order. They're drinks are not on the menu (it says Coke products ask server) the host or manager took our drink order so I asked what they had. He was distracted and said Coke products, which I had figured out by looking at the menu. So everyone had coke and I had a water because I'm still not sure if the have tea or lemonades our anything other than coke. Someone else delivered our drinks and brought us chips. The chips tasted like they were fried in burnt oil. The "salsa" was more like pico de gallo rather then salsa and tasted straight up like tomatoes. (I'm not a fan of the taste of plain tomatoes). We got our server to bring us a different dip for the chips. Didn't really see a lot on the menu that sounded good usually because of one or two of the ingredients but I settled on the combo fajitas. I've had fajitas many times in numerous states and hands down these were the worst. The steak was bland, the chicken tasted burnt but wasn't. It's like they cooked it with something burnt. The flour tortillas were disgusting, I would have rather had a tortilla out of the package off the shelf at Kroger. The chicken nugget kids meals had the same burnt taste and fries just weren't that good. Had to get the kids something else on the way home. The other 2 meals (both burritos) were as they put it "ok, not that great". Now for the reason it got 2 stars. Our server was great. Restraunt has a nice atmosphere and prices were good for amount of food. Overall I should have taken the family to Senior Iguanas. Food is so much better. read more

Great service and food. This is our go-to restaurant for Tex-Mex food. Tex-Mex is different from Mexican. Different cheese and sauces among other things. In the Houston and OKC areas I lived and worked in Tex-Mex was the default so that's the best for me. Chuy's serves the best Tex-Mex we can find in Indiana. Try the burritos, enchiladas and combination plates #3 and #5. The servers and very attentive and several have been there for at least a couple of years. Keeping servers long term is a sign that management is doing something right. I wouldn't change a thing. read more

We stopped here on our drive from Chicago to Birmingham. The food was excellent! My husband had the fish tacos and I had the stacked enchiladas. Both had tons of flavor and tasted amazing. The creamy jalapeño sauce was probably the best part of the fish tacos and also tasted great with the chips. We also had great service! Our food came out quickly and our waitress was quick to fill up our drinks and bring us more chips.
