We sat at the front of the restaurant although they do have a larger area in the back. Interior is your typical Mexican restaurant set up nothing too fancy. We had the lunch fajitas which were really good. I was skeptical being from Houston where we take pride in our Tex-Mex cuisine. The only thing I didn't like was the store bought tortillas, if they were hand made this would have easily been a 5 star review

Our section has a big screen showing the soccer World Cup and volume was reasonable. I split the chicken fajitas with my son and ordered extra tortillas. Delish!! The grilled chicken was phenomenal. My teen raved over the quesadilla chicken fajitas. This is another dish that could've been split. My husband ordered the California burrito. It was huge! But he said the steak had a lot of gristle. The only disappointment was the cheese dip. Super thin and watery which equals little to no flavor. Their salsa is great though. We were taken care of from start to finish by the hosts and servers. Vallarta is great for small and large parties. It's a casual neighborhood restaurant located in a strip center so it offers plenty of parking.

I ordered the nopales and ribeye tacos, and both were delicious. The ingredients tasted fresh, and the flavors were well balanced. One of my favorite touches was the self-serve toppings bar. Being able to add fresh cilantro, salsa verde, and pickled onions made the tacos even better and let me customize them exactly how I like them. I'll definitely be back the next time I'm craving great tacos and a refreshing drink. Great service and fun vibe/atmosphere!

Nothing fancy but not a hole in the wall either. It has bar seating with a few tables. You order at the counter. I had a plant based asada & mushroom taco. The hubs had a chicken & ribeye taco. We shared the Chip trio sampler. The trio included cheese, green salsa and guacamole. All four tacos were incredibly salty, in fact neither of us could finish our tacos due to their saltiness. The corn tortillas were semi- hard and oily. So much oil we needed several napkins to wipe the oil from our fingers. The guacamole was fine, probably the best thing of the meal, for those who eat cheese, the cheese looked fine but the salsa verde was extremely watered down. The margarita, thankfully was not sweet but less than desirable. Much like the salsa verde it was watered down and flavorless. The woman who took our order was pleasant, helpful and professional. The restaurant appeared to be clean. If you look at my history, you'll see I don't do alot of negative reviews. However, this food was gross and I can say I will never eat there again, nor would I recommend it to anyone. In fact, my stomach hurts due to the salt and oil. It was Taco Tuesday so very much affordable. I will not return...ever.

There was a happy hour special on margaritas at $4.99. So I jumped on it. They brought me a huge 20oz goblet filled with an excellent frozen margarita. I usually find happy hour drinks are watered down, but not in this case. Arguably, one of the best margaritas I've had, and coming from a Texas boy, that's high praise. Of course, i was billed $9 for the drink. Apparently, I ordered the happy hour special and got the jumbo sized non-special price. No worries, the drink was that good. Ok, food. Fresh, warm chips and a very good salsa. A little "thin", but good flavor. There were no hot sauces on the table to spice it up. We received extensive menus, and needed time to look them over. We didn't see our server for another 15 minutes! Once we ordered, the food was brought out rather quickly. My wife had a seafood burrito, but requested a ranchero sauce rather than crema and they delivered. Her burrito wasn't stuffed with tons of rice filler and a few shrimp, and was filled with shrimp, crab, veggies. Her only ding was the tortilla was soggy from the sauce. I went with my usual fajita order. A sizzling g plate, with a substantial serving. Same with the usual side plate. Pinto beans (not refried), lettuce & diced tomatoes, guacamole, and rice. The tortillas seemed to be house made. Light and fluffy. I'd be shocked if these had come from a package. But, I don't understand why they serve such a large portion with only 3 tortillas. They were filled with half an order remaining! Probably a good thing, as that other half will be enjoyed at home! The fajitas were terrific! The steak was tender and well seasoned. Lots of grilled onions and peppers. And Mango's is one of the few restaurants that serve strips of beef rather than chopped up "bits" of steak. Mango's isn't close to home, but it was worth the drive. I wouldn't hesitate to return when I'm back in the area and check out their lunch buffet.
