Our first time at Chuy's and we had a blast. The staff was friendly and we loved our waiter, Tristan. It was loud but that just added to the fun atmosphere for our kids and we didn't feel bad when our one year old was crying. Food was great and my picky child cleaned his plate. We stayed a half an hour after closing and asked to buy some T-shirts. They already put everything away but were more than willing to unlock the cabinets to find the shirts we wanted. Don't know why this place is so packed, it's not that great! The enchilada was chicken in a tortilla with some weird sour cream mix sauce on top, that was it,very bland. The "chalupa" was simply a tostada you would get at a Taco Bell. The service was ok, but girl was not too friendly, needs to smile. The food was amazing, service was good. our waiter messed up but fixed it right away and was very sweet the whole time and management was awesome! The only problem was the hostesses at the front. I bought a shirt and the young girl got it and rang me up. I gave her money and she was about to give me the wrong change back so I corrected her. She made the rudest face when I did this. Maybe if she wasn't talking so much to her friends and paying attention she would of gotten it right the first time. These girls need to learn what good customer service is. I'm reading a lot of reviews on here... and happened to be here when Charlotte H. was here. Everyone at the bar had full glasses. Bartender was polite and friendly. Bartender engaged those that wanted to have conversation and those that are more reserved he gave them some respectable breathing room. I was not one of "the young girls drinking wine at the end of the bar" but I was there the entire time and the review Charlotte left was inaccurate. Everyone is clearly entitled to their own opinion, but if you sit quietly at the bar and act like you don't want to be spoken to, odds are --- you'll be left alone to enjoy your evening and be attended to with awareness and respectful distance. Typically those on cell phones the majority of their stay (probably writing their terribly inaccurate review) will miss the fact that their bartender looked at them numerous times to assist them and left them be in an effort to not interrupt their rant. Upon Charlotte and company getting up and leaving, the bartender thanked them for coming in and told them to have a great evening. Personal view - if you aren't happy with the service you are receiving then address it in the moment rather than passive aggressively leave an inaccurate review that taints the reputation of a respectable establishment and affects more than just the individual you're attacking. read more

I give five stars for excellent service. I am not too sure about the layout of the restaurant inside. It seem small and a poor use of space. Parking is not adequate outside. I had to walk from a neighboring store and hope that I was allowed to do so. Food was average Chuys food. I had a taco salad. They didn't have a gluten free menu. Margarita was good. Chips are thin. Our family favorite! I've never cared for tres leches until I tried it at Chuys. Heaven!!!! It's now a MUST when we go! You can never go wrong with a happy hour free queso bar, either! The drinks are always yummy and refreshing, the food has an amazing taste of its own, the sauce variety is out of this world delish and the staff is always on point. We never are left waiting at our table for a refill or for something we may need. I literally have no complaints other than it gets very busy at dinner... but that's because everyone else knows how amazing it is, too! read more

a lot of problems during my last visit. to start off, the host was very rude and it seemed like he was out of it, kinda like he was on drugs or something. we put our name on the list and came back 5 minutes later to get seated and he forgot we were even there. then had attitude when asking for the name. he took us to our booth and it just wasn't cleaned from the previous customers. beans in the seat. my step dad instantly goes to ask if he could get our table wiped down and he already forgot where we were sitting??? not even a minute after taking us there. the waitress was pretty nice and checked on us frequently. was also really loud and the tables felt very compact and crowded to one another. read more

Probably the best Chuy's experience I've had from any of their locations. Our server, Eddie, was awesome! We came in about an hour and a half before close on a Sunday night and the place was pretty full. We enjoyed our house Margs and complimentary chips and salsa while we waited on our meals. We ordered Elvis enchilada special something or other and the fajita combo plate for one. I explained to Eddie that I can't have dairy, so if possible I'd like no cheese - melted or otherwise - and no sour cream. Now, I know I'm at a tex-mex-y establishment and I know cheese is everywhere and I've accepted the fact that it's not the end of the world if someone forgets down the line - I'm not afraid of the scrape! Well, hats off to Eddie because he went above and beyond to make sure I didn't have any dairy, anywhere. He came back with our second round of Margs and informed us that our food would be coming shortly, but mine would be a few moments behind because the the meats and veggies are cooked in butter and the chef forgot no dairy, so they're remaking it. Wow! He also asked if I could have shortening because they use it in their flour tortillas and he didn't know what that was, but wanted to make sure it was okay. Yep! Just fat, thanks! It may have been a few minutes wait, I didn't notice, but the food came out nice and hot and the runner again confirmed my no-dairy-ness and even he asked if I could have lard. Great follow through, much appreciated! Maybe I was already won over with the great service, but I swear this was the best meal I've ever had at any Chuy's. (Yes, food can taste good without cheese. Barely, but it's true.) Overall, great experience at the Leander Chuy's. When I'm in the area, I'll be sure to come back. read more

Been in Austin for about 11 years now and been going to Chuy's since. Usually go to the one on 183 and duval. But now we have the option to go to the one in cedar park. Food is always spot on. My only complaint is slow service at this location. Seems like they are always under staffed and same was the case last night. We waited for an hour which I can understand being Friday night. Finally we got seated I noticed bunch of tables empty around our table. Tables did get filled eventually but they were empty when we got seated. I can only assume that they were short staffed. We got our chips and drinks right away but food took longer to come out as well. Finally we got the food and were eating while our server brought out the check and left it on our table. Basically telling us to leave. We wanted to order desserts as we usually do, but since our server left the check we did not feel like getting dessert there. We ended up going to tiff treats and getting some cookies and ice cream. Just don't like when we are rushed to eat our food after waiting an hour to get seated. Not cool read more

Getting much better! My wife and I have been to this new location a few times and at first we were not impressed. (Slow service, food and drinks not quite as good as other locations). The Chuy's in Round Rock has always been one of our favorites so our expectations for a new location might have been set a little high. We decided to give them another try tonight and I have to say it was much better! Service was fast, Fajitas were great, Tres Leches was perfect and delicious.
