We came in here super bowl Sunday while waiting for our pup to finish her grooming appointment. It was pretty impromptu but it was really quiet which was good but the tv didn't even have the game on at the bar. Right before we were leaving two guys came in and asked her to turn it on. The service was good but I wouldn't say exceptional. I ordered the tortilla soup cup and hubs ordered the shrimp tacos. Both were good and had good flavor. Maybe next time we will try the burritos. Overall, I'm impressed with this restaurant. There is plenty of parking and the restaurant is very unique inside. Every room is completely decorated differently with different lighting too. Super super cute! I got the chuychanga. The steak and cheese inside was really good but I wasn't a fan of how deep fried the tortilla was just because I was being health conscious, so I should've ordered differently. Everyone at the table who got tacos really enjoyed their plate throughly. The chicka chicka boom boom sauce was spicier than we had expected. The chips are fresh and salsa is good! It took forever to get our food and drinks. I think the server forgot a few of the drink orders because we had to remind him. Not sure, why he never gave us any napkins. Chuy's has a great outdoor seating area, which is a big plus for our family. The staff was friendly and there was no wait for us on a Saturday afternoon for lunch. They offer complimentary chips and salsa and we added an order of the queso to start. Very tasty and would definitely recommend. I got the Chuychanga with the Hatch Green Chile sauce. I wish they allowed to change the protein. They used chicken breast as the main protein. The sauce was marked as hot, but it's really not. We also got the Big As Yo' Face" burrito with ground beef. Definitely wouldn't say it's any bigger than your average burrito but it was filing and hit the spot. Each dish came with rice, refined beans, and sour cream. Overall, Chuy's was fine, just fine. Nothing spectacular either other than outdoor seating. Next time, I may consider going to a more local restaurant as this is a chain. Horribly NOT Tex Mex! This is as far removed from being Tex Mex as humanly possible! Case in point: not a spec of onion, nor a single leaf of cilantro was present in my dish. To promote this food as "Fine Tex Mex" is equivalent to stating that a poorly cooked and sloppily-assembled fast food burger is a gourmet burger experience. Ah ... nope! I had the fajita chicken soft tacos (2 of them) with a side (for $1 more) of their "special green chili" sauce. The chicken had zero resemblance to "fajita", and the accompaniments of diced tomatoes, shredded lettuce, and a bit of guac did nothing to rescue the dish from abject blandness. Save a $1 and avoid the "special sauce." Nothing special going on with it, other than perhaps being especially unimpressive. This is not a Do Over for me. read more

I've been to this Chuy's at least half a dozen times, and I really love the fun atmosphere. My family chose to return again tonight because we wanted a family-friendly restaurant (my niece just turned 15 months and is at that age where she loves pointing out lighting and artwork). This is a great place for large groups, as the restaurant is split up into four separate dining rooms plus a lovely outdoor area when it's warmer. Visually there is a lot going on - bright artwork, beautiful tiles, funky decor, and interesting lighting in each of the rooms. As far as food goes, I think Chuy's is somewhere between a 3.5 and a 4. I've had menu items I've really loved and a few that I thought could have been better. I do love their thin and crispy chips and the creamy jalapeño dip - the stuff is addicting. Tonight I ordered one of my favorites here - the chicken fajitas. The meat, peppers and onions were well flavored and came with freshly-made flour tortillas, rice, beans, and a bowl of lettuce, tomato, cheese, guacamole and sour cream. Really generous portions! On previous visits, I've had their chuychanga with ranchero sauce, which is tasty but a little dry (I wanted it to have more cheese and sauce inside!); their chalupa, which was just okay; and their ground sirloin crispy taco, which I wasn't a big fan of. For me, the fajitas are the way to go here, though I may also try the Baja tacos next time. Service has always been friendly and attentive. Came here along with my family, and had a somewhat mixed experience. Arrived, waited ~10 minutes to be seated, which was reasonable considering it was Father's Day. After being seated, we were given chips and salsa. Our waitress, Zandra, arrived fairly quickly and initial service was fast. However, when requesting an alternative dip for the chips for allergy reasons and clarifying allergen information, she responded in a clearly condescending tone. Being vegetarian, I always appreciate when waitstaff are understanding and patient with requests and questions. Unfortunately, this experience did not meet the mark. When asking further questions about the ingredients in various menu items, her responses were patronizing, confusing, and unhelpful. The wait time for the main courses was reasonable. I ordered the veggie enchiladas (pictured) which were good. Nothing special though - I've definitely had better Mexican food in the area. Despite the food, the overall experience left a lot to be desired. I definitely won't be returning, and believe that there are many better options nearby. read more

I live for their boom boom sauce and their creamy jalapeño on everything. Their margs are also my favorite (come on Tuesday or Thursday and the big ones are on special). It looks really good on a plate but it looks a little sad in a carry out. The sauce of the enchilada was hard and stuck in the container. This food is best served and eaten in the restaurant. It came with chips and salsa. The chips was thin and crunchy and was very good. The sauce had too much lime but tasted better the following day. It also had a little kick. The enchilada had a lot of chicken and was good. Paired well with the white sauce (avocado). It just looks really tiny. The releno was soggy but that is expected when it's in a carry out. I ordered the house margarita, not bad - I'd probably add a floater next time. I also got the queso of course, it was decent, I'd probably skip that next time.
