I forgot her name but she's young and helpful - just the right balance of letting us have our convo and being helpful. Kudos to her! We had a great meal! This time around we shared the Fajita Chicken Quesadillas, Panchos, and the Chuy Chuy Churro Bites. For my own dish I ordered the Roasted Chicken Burrito. Plus we ordered a dozen flour tortillas. I enjoyed the fajita chicken quesadilla. It had chicken and lots of cheese and onions. The Panchos were good. They had plenty of beans, cheese, and fajita chicken. The Chuy Chuy Churro Bites were delicious. I enjoyed every bite. The churros with some caramel and vanilla ice cream from home were a nice sweet after dinner treat. I chose the roasted Chicken Burrito for dinner as it's my favorite. I love the bean, cheese, and chicken combo and with the creamy jalapeno sauce topping it was delicious. The Green Chili Rice that comes with it on the side is good. It has a slight flavor to it and when I ate it with my burrito it was super filling. Stopped by with family to have a quick early dinner today. Stephen was the name of the server on our receipt. Hopefully that was actually our server - he was amazing! Literally one of the best servers we've had in a long time. He checked on us regularly, was so attentive and considerate. Made sure the food was out quickly and the order was perfectly correct. Decided to try out this classic Austin restaurant with a local, and absolutely enjoyed the food and vibe at this location. As a vegetarian though, it was a slight struggle to find something to eat with a fairly limited vegetarian friendly menu! We ordered Guacamole and Queso in appetizers, and their Queso was really delicious. Very flavorful and went really well with those Tostada chips! I got the Tex-Mex Burrito Bowl without any protein, and the portion size was large enough to fill me up. The House Salsa was tasty, and so was my overall dish. Service was quick and food arrived within 20 minutes of ordering. It was a Saturday afternoon, and noise levels were slightly on the louder side at around 2 pm. While I've never eaten inside here, we get takeout pretty frequently. The process online is super easy and it never really takes that long. Service is friendly and quick too. Their enchiladas with the green sauce are ok, I find them to be a but too wet/oily but they get the job done, and better than most tex Mex places around I think. I loooove their creamy jalapeno sauce though. And frankly that's why it gets 4 and not 3 stars. We just get this for takeout often to eat with food we make at home. We had been hearing so much about Chuy's since we moved here from out of state. Decided to give it a try, was sorely disappointed. First of all, the chips are stale, under salted, and so thin that I literally cut the roof of my mouth. Moving past that all of their soda pops taste like they went out to Barton Springs (you know which side I'm talking about) and scooped up that water and added a splash of flavoring. Lastly, the actual food we got (steak fajitas and a burrito) was flavorless, overcooked, and VERY unappealing to the eye. In terms of service don't even get me started. They're slow, lazy, not kind, and basically just throw your food on the table and walk away. The only redeeming feature is that there were many cute pups to look at on their walls. I enjoy dining in the bar but this time around decided on a table due to the lighter crowd. I noticed the main indoor dining area was much brighter where perhaps lighting was change out making it easier to read the menu and admire the nice portraits on the walls. I ordered the Deluxe Chicken Enchiladas and a Chuy's Famous Rita Swirl (Lime and Strawberry). The service was still great as usual and alway nice to look around for something new and different with the place like the t-shirt designs in front. The margarita was a little fruity and It took a while for the alcohol to kick in. My plate arrived and tried the enchiladas. I like the way the roasted chicken tasted with the deluxe tomatillo sauce and cheese making it very favorable. It was not spicy. The Mexican rice and refried beans were also good too. I love me some Tex-Mex and it was my first time at a Chuy's. I came here for my co-worker's goodbye happy hour since it's right down the street from our work place. Steve was our waiter, and let me tell you...Steve was working hard and still being attentive. This place was so busy!!! As expected for a Friday evening. Lots of families with kids running around, music playing, and lots of conversations. They kept the chips and dips coming because our food order took FOREVER to come out. Not sure what was going on in the kitchen. I think Steve was taking care of half the restaurant (what it seemed like) and was being so nice! Just by looking around, I could tell the staff was feeling a little stretched thin. Chips were tasty, hard to mess that up. Salsa and spicy ranch type of dip I've never had were both good too. I had the skinny marg, it had almost no tequila in it, but it wasn't sweet so I appreciated that. Steve did a great job at keeping up with our table because we kept having people coming in to say bye, stay a bit then leave. He would bring out the drinks and fresh chips. Now I honestly wasn't hungry by the time my food arrived because I was so full after eating 3 baskets of chips. I ordered the veggie enchiladas, and they were sad. 2 came with the order and the sauce tasted like it came out of a jar. The rice was dry and lacked seasoning....the beans didn't taste super fresh. I don't know about the lettuce/tomato off to the side. I did take it to go and it all tasted a little better a day after. I paid about $26 total, including my tip. Will I come back? I had them tonight just to make sure, and they compare very favorably with what's available in Santa Fe, NM. So here's the five-star review I promised years ago. I never dreamed that I would give a Darden restaurant five stars, but the proof's in the relleno! Ordered tacos al carbon that comes with onions and peppers and my tacos only came with meat. Had to ask for jalapeño ranch cause waitress never brought it. Me and my partner had to share my drink cause she never came to refill his, although she had no problem tending to the party right across from us. Chuy's is consistently good. I notice I've posted multiple pics of the veggie enchilada. That's my go-to here as a vegetarian, and it satisfies every time. The rice and beans used in this dish are suitable for vegetarians, and they also clearly identify which of their sauces have meat products in them. Now and then I mix it up and get the veggie enchiladas with boom boom sauce or something else, but the og version with ranchero sauce is great as is. They're quite good about accommodating larger groups for weekday lunches. We've had their nachos and tres leches as well, both of which were good. read more
