Stopped in today for a quick lunch. It was pretty empty and yet service was extra slow. They had one bar tender and serviced the whole bar and seating area. Never the staffs fault when management puts them in this position, but for Friday that's ...wellllll‍ So after waiting more than 30 min for 1 item nachos let's get into it and talk about taste. The sweet tea gave what it was supposed to give... diabetic coma lol.. the Large 8 plated nachos came out pipping hot and loaded with tomatoes, refined beans, guacamole, lettuce, cheese, and steak. The meat was a bit tough but still good at least the whole chip was covered and wasn't leaving me searching to fill a bite. Then there's flooring and seating like a 50s diner with car parts hanging from the ceiling and tiling on the walls like we're in Mexico. The logo on the sign gives me like 90s / Chuck-E-Cheese vibes lol. The colors are wild on the inside. This place feels like you have literally walked into a theme park at Disney that wants to combine Margaritaville with a 50s diner and throw in some traditional Mexican restaurant decor, add Elvis, and hang things from the ceiling like we're at Cracker Barrel. It's so wild but I loved it. It was super fun looking! Food: THE BEST PART was the cheese dip. We ordered it thinking we were getting basic queso. This was the cheese dip that I didn't know I was missing. I have been vegetarian for a couple of years now but used to loveee Chili's queso appetizer, but it had ground beef. I have gone as far as trying to recreate it at home without meat but was not successful. When they brought out this queso at Chuy's and we had our first bite, my sister and I immediately said, this is Chili's without meat!! We were soo excited. She literally wanted to drink it with a spoon... lol. The chips are also thin and reminded me of Chili's as well. We ordered the guacamole tacos, which imo weren't great. I probably would try something else next time. The portion was huge. The plate was full of beans and rice and toppings but only 2 tacos that were full of guac. I appreciate them giving plenty of guac but it was way too much I had to scrape some out. The tacos were also thick like pita bread almost. So it was definitely edible just not my fave, but also I am pretty sure I will just get a bowl of queso by myself next time anyways haha Price: Decent price. The queso was 9$ and the taco plate was 10$. Improvements: Not much. I would say less guac in the tacos and maybe 3 tortillas would be nice to go with all of the stuff on the plate. It's my boyfriend and I's first time at Chuy's and we just became regulars. MCLOVIN, our server, swept us off our feet. When we told him it was our first time, he provided us with the first timers dip assortment taste test and was 100% knowledgeable as to which dip is in which entree. After that we ordered the lil chuy gooey dip and the manager accidentally put in for a chicken and rice appetizer. Best mistake to ever happen. It was SO good AND it got comped and we still got our huge, monstrous sized gooey dip which might I add is priced incredibly reasonable. We were so full we had to get our entree that we were going to share to go. When McLovin came to our table with our entree packed up to go with dips and chips we thought we were getting pranked. This was the best day of our lives. But it doesn't even end there WHAT he comes back with chuys cups and coupons. About time I write a review for this place considering I've been 3 times now. It's solid, that's the best word to describe this place. As the case with many well-owned chain restaurants, the food is consistent. You know what you are getting when you come to Chuy's. In my opinion, it is not the hands down best or authentic Mexican food you can get. But the food is tasty and the service has always been superb! The staff is very friendly and attentive (which may be the draw for me when I am looking for a quick Mexican meal). They have a wide selection of drinks, a good happy hour and a great atmosphere. They make you feel like you are eating authentic Mexican, even if the food may not say so. The start to any good Mexican is obviously the chips and salsa. The chips have been fresh and warm on all 3 of my visits. The salsa is a great mix of chunky tomatoes and onion. I have gotten the Chuychanga and the Enchiladas, both were solid. They offer a wide variety of 7 salsas to put over any meal that you decide on. I ask for the hottest and was told the Hatch Green Chile was the hottest. It has heat, but not unbearable, with a great taste. I recommend this restaurant, and as long as you understand what you are getting, all is good! read more

Constantly horrible service. Should have walked out as soon as i walked in. I stood at the front desk for probably 5 minutes before i was greeted- the manager and multiple employees were standing there, looking at me having a side conversation and decided to continue their conversation before welcoming us to the restaurant. We Sat on the patio and waited a good 20 minutes before anyone approached our table or were offered water - after watching our server (and other servers) walk by our table multiple times. Our server was in no hurry to get things done and had zero interest in forming a relationship with his clients or providing great customer service. 7 years have past since I last reviewed Chuy's. I guess it's due for an update. Chuy's is my co-workers' favorite restaurant. They come here every week. I'm not a huge Tex-Mex fan, but thanks to my co-workers, I came to enjoy it. Chuy's was founded in 1982 in Austin, TX. The expanded and opened this location around 7-8 years ago. This is probably Atlanta's original location. The location is kitschy. They want to show off a "fun" atmosphere. So you'll see all sorts of stuff on the walls, floor, and ceilings. They even have original paintings on the walls. If you know Spanish, they're not kid friendly. When you come in, you get your standard basket of chips and salsa. You can also ask for their creamy jalapeno sauce. It's like a cool-ranch flavor with a kick. They don't automatically give it to you, you have to ask for it. But it's free. Since I came here so much, I got to try a bunch of their menu. They say they make everything in house, even their tortillas. You can see they locked the tortilla woman in her room so you can watch her make endless tortillas. If you like Tex-Mex food, this place is fine. I think my favorite is their steak burrito. It's a huge burrito with grilled steak inside. It comes with dirty rice and charro beans on the side. The burrito is huge and the meat inside is delicious and well cooked. I've tried most of their enchiladas. They're okay. I like their Southwestern enchilada because of the sunny-side up egg. Their service is great. They also have happy hour and other "fun" things during the week. If you're in the Sandy Springs area and craving Tex-Mex, try Chuy's out. read more

This was my first Yelp event here in ATL (I'm a transfer), and this event DID NOT disappoint! Omg where do I start? When I first arrived to Chuy's, I was instantly mesmerized with the structure and style of the building. It had many bold colors, a round dining area, and several paintings to look at. I was greeted by the Chuy's host, and then I checked in with Christina. Christina, our new CM, is such a bright & bubbly individual, and that matches my personality perfectly. She handed me a badge, and I was also given the option to receive a pop socket upon checking in. Okay, let's get down to the nitty gritty: THE FOOD. It was simply AMAZING! This is actually coming from someone who did not like her first and only previous experience at Chuy's in an Alabama location several years ago. However, this location and experience has changed my mind. Y'all, we were presented with literally 5 courses of food. WOW! The chips and salsa were among the first thing they brought out. The salsa was spicier than I normally can handle, but the flavor was absolutely delicious. I seriously couldn't stop eating it. I did not care for the jalapeño ranch sauce, but I'm not a fan of ranch, either. Out of all of the meals, I liked the quesadilla and the steak burrito the best! Ohhhhh, and I can't forget about the Tres Leches Cake bites. It was the perfect amount for me! I am thankful to have made it into this event. The waiters did an outstanding job and kept such a pleasant attitude the entire time. We also received shakers with candy and a Koozie inside...so that was another nice perk. The host made a face Everytime a customer walked in than wait time was 10-15 mins and ended up being 45 mins way off than what she told me when their was every table open but 3 which was 6 customer why was there a wait time made no sense when asked when we would be seated was told to wait our turn than I guess was the manager skipped us 4 times to sit down that came in after us.... Then the server was rushing every table she got to order food as soon as they seat down before they could even look. I watched her go to two of her tables that had order their food and brought the food out before chips and salsa which made no sense at all... The atmosphere in here is very off everyone seem to be rushing for no reason at all.... While I'm still unsure of how to correctly pronounce "Chuy's," but for my first time, I had a positive dining experience there. I would like to point out that I prefer seafood in my tacos and not a lot of places know how to do it - AND DO IT WELL. First things first, I got lost trying to find my way here. Plazas always confuse me because the GPS never wants to take you to the exact location, only the "general vicinity." So anyway, once I finally found the place, I realized it was a large establishment. Take note, it is handicap friendly and they do have ramps. The inside is decorated with fake palm trees, old photos, and bar signs. There's a lot going on as far the interior design go. I'd be interested in learning more about the thought process behind it, or at least the theme. When I walked in, the hostess' were already waiting for me (I was meeting a group of colleagues there.) Like most places, when you get seated the server comes around and brings you warm tortilla chips and salsa for the table. The salsa is actually really good. Not super chunky like other places. I wonder if it's made inhouse? The menu was extensive and also has a kids menu. The menu has everything from chimichangas and quesadillas to burgers and fried chicken. They also have weekly specials, so be on the lookout for those if you're unsure of what to order. I ordered the baja tacos which consisted of flour tortillas, grilled fish AND shrimp (one each), cilantro, red cabbage and Creamy Jalapeño and then my plate came with beans, lettuce, chunky salsa, and jalapenos. REALLY good! Wow. The shrimp tasted like it had been marinated in olive oil, herbs, garlic, maybe lemon? They weren't just thrown on to the grill with small sal. They also had fried options for the baja tacos. The fish was also excellent. Well cooked and packed with flavor. Idk, might go back this weekend. Who knows? :-) Our server was great. I didn't catch her name, but she made sure to keep everyone's drinks refilled and she was very attentive to our table. It tastes so fresh and very tangy. The place gets very busy at lunchtime, and the parking lot fills up too fast. The creamy Jalapeno ranch dip or sauce is very tasty. The presentation of the food is very attractive too. It is a Kids friendly environment. Has indoor bar area and outside patio area. Food quality is consistent, runs happy hour weeks with special drinks and free all you can eat chips, salsa and cueso. This is my new favorite Mexican place to eat for now in town. Here I have tried their Enchiladas special called Chicka-Chicka Boom-Boom from the menu which is freshly roasted, hand pulled chicken and cheese with Boom-Boom sauce, made with cheese, roasted New Mexican green chiles, tomatoes, green onions, cilantro and lime juice. All enchiladas are rolled to order in fresh, homemade corn tortillas and served with a choice of Mexican rice or green chile rice and re-fried or charro beans. Added to this a soft taco and guacamole on top of it. This dish was so yummy and tasty. The portion of the meal is so right and the prices are very reasonable and affordable. I wanted so badly to have a good Tex Mex meal this evening...especially since I was dining alone to avoid the traffic on a rainy trek home. I hit the door hopeful, greeted by smiles and a quick trip to my seat. Unfortunately that is where the best part of my experience ends. I ordered the veggie enchilada plate with Mexican rice and charro beans (after making sure everything was gluten free of course). No substitutes, no special orders, just ordered what was advertised on the menu. The best part of my meal came first, the delicately thin and warm chips with moderately spicy salsa. After finishing 3/4 of my chip basket because it took my waitress approximately 11 minutes to come take my drink order, I decided to stay in spite of the slow service since the rain was pouring down. 7 minutes later I watched my waitress take drink orders at the table of guys who came after me. I hailed her to come take my food order since there was not a crowd AND I wasn't sure how long it would be before seeing her again. She grabbed my drink and came over. She took my order and disappeared. I busied myself by writing a grocery list. I promised myself that if she didn't return in 10 minutes to at least check on me, I would leave. I broke my promise...and began writing my list of bills to pay. Finally she came out and says, "Your food is ready but the Mexican rice will take 10 minutes to cook because we ran out, would you like the green Chile rice?" My response: "Isn't it spicy?" Her: Yes but it's good. Me: Okay, but I don't really like spicy Her: Do you want the rest of your meal to wait until the Mexican rice is ready? Me: No thanks, I'll take it now. (In my head I'm thinking...so you really think I want my enchiladas to sit another 10 minutes under a heat lamp?) She returns in about 4 minutes with my food (yes, I'm counting the time now because I'm furious). Have you ever had one of those days where you just didn't want to fight anyone, not even the waitress and manager about your completely justified complaints? Well today was that day for me. I was tired after my treatment at the doctor's office, it was raining, traffic was horrendous, and I just didn't want to have to utter a word. I digress... Anyway, the food was less than mediocre, warm at best, and incomplete. The edges of the blue corn wrap were hard, indicating it sat under the lamp before I was told about the delay in my order. The Mexican rice came out very late after I was done eating the rest of my food. I actually had to ask for the one refill I received and NO APOLOGIES for anything. Note to the hardworking service staff: avoiding a customer is never good. You cannot control the kitchen, but you can control extending kindness as you would want extended to you. I paid, I even tipped (I can't help myself), I left a note to management letting them know I would be giving this review. Reflecting back...I spent $16 on a really bad (incomplete) meal and bad service - spending 1.25 hours in Chuy's- just to avoid the rain and traffic. I could have driven home instead. This was my second experience at Chuy's. Never again will I waste my time or money...even when I'm too tired to complain. But if you're a dislocated central Texan, it's nice to find something familiar, particularly when the Mexican food near us (in Seattle) is so bad. I always come for the Taco Car happy hour special. I sit in the bar and this particular day i had horrible customer service which usually never happens. I think the guys name may have been Steve. My wife and I were greeted by a manager who then came back to take our order AND brining us chips and salsa. The lady behind the bar made us our drinks and brought them. It was a rather dreary day, but Chuy's brightened my spirits. The colorful modern folk art adorning the walls peaked my curiosity and led to some entertaining Spanish reading. The service was friendly and the food was spicy. It really can't be Tex-Mex without some good heat. The menu items in green (Verde) are the restraunt favorites and so we ordered a few of them and were all pleasantly satisfied with our choices. My soup had fresh avocado and the side of tortilla arrived warm and appropriately wrapped in tin foil. If you are looking for a Tex-Mex place, this one won't be the cheapest; but it will provide you with the food, service, and ambiance (the total experience) you should expect from a good Tex-Mex restraunt. read more

I'm an Ohio native who has always loved Chuy's. When I learned there was one near me in Atlanta I was so excited to visit. Me and two of my coworkers came for lunch. I'm unhappy with how close the waiter sat all the guests. This place has plenty of space and I'm baffled that a large group of 6 was sat right next to a group of 3. To order, I had their version of chimichangas and my coworker ordered their tacos. We all loved our food and it was super tasty. Later that night I had a wave of nausea and fatigue. When I got to to work the next day, My coworker said she also had nausea and the runs. A week later I was telling a friend of mine about our experience, and she told me that she has a friend who visited this location and got sick as well. I'm not sure what is going on in that kitchen but there is a common denominator here. We were in Atlanta for only a few days but accidentally found Chuy's. It is our favorite Tex-mex restaurant in San Antonio. Kaylee was the best server and the food was excellent, as usual. The fajita meat gets no better any way you have it, in a salad is an easy way to eat that meat and just leave lettuce. I live in Texas and DO NOT like Shiner beer.
