Churro Parlor has been on my list for a while, so I was excited to finally try it, but it was a disappointment. The shop is small and located next to a Mexican restaurant, with limited seating, so it feels more like a pick-up-and-go spot. That said, it's small but cute, and the space was decorated nicely for the holiday season. We stopped by after dinner for a quick dessert, and maybe it was because we came close to closing time, but the churros were dry and hard. I ordered the Jane ($3.99-classic cinnamon sugar), and my boyfriend got the Aunt Rose ($4.99-Mexican chocolate ganache with Oreo cookie crumble). Our friends tried other flavors. Where can I find a good, solid original churro?! The horseshoe design is aesthetically pleasing, and I like how quickly the churros came out (less than 10 minutes), but I was really disappointed by how dry and hard my churro was. My boyfriend's churro was a bit better, smothered in sauce. I'm not a fan of wasting food, but I ended up throwing mine away because it just wasn't worth the calories. Maybe I'll give it another try if I'm in the area during the daytime.
The churro was very good but I do wish that it was a bit bigger. It's very fresh and it's sweet. The service wasn't that fast, but they were making them fresh so you real can't complain. The lady that was working the register was nice. It was a bit hard finding the place cause it is next to restaurant and it is very small. Waiting for my churro to look like 10-12 minutes. But they were very low on seating because the inside of the parlor was super small so if you're claustrophobic, I suggest to stand outside. Other than that I completely recommend!!!
A unique little spot to enjoy some fresh churros with friendly service and limited seating. I like the concept of this spot and the menu offered though I wish it was a little larger as there's really only enough space for a handful of people between the indoor and outdoor seating. With the setup as well, you can really only watch the churros being prepared if you are standing in front of the cashier, which can block new orders from being taken. The food itself is fairly good, though not really the best churros that I've ever had. It's firm and lightly crisp with a good, but not great texture and while the toppings look for pictures, I'm not certain that they are the best way to prepare the churros. They do come out hot and fresh though, regardless of whether you're getting the bites or the loops. With that said, I still enjoyed the different items I tried and appreciated the different photo opportunities.
My neighbor raved about this place years ago, and we finally got a chance to check it out after dinner next door. Expect about a 5-7 minute wait for your fresh churros. The base is a horseshoe shaped fried churro, and there's an assortment of glazed and toppings you can have depending on your taste buds. The flavors were okay and just ended up being very sweet. The Nutella with sprinkles turned out to be our favorite. Lastly, friendly staff!
Tried churro parlor when they were a vendor at the Lakeview Taco Fest. The line was long but boy was it worth it! After maxing out on savory tacos and elotes, Churro Parlor was the perfect sweet treat to end the night with. I ordered the guava churro and it was delicious and so fresh. Cant wait to check out their storefront!
Churro Parlor is such a cute, unsuspecting place to get deliciously fresh churros. It's basically a walk-up window ( it is enclosed). The employees were patient as I read all the different flavors behind them on the chalkboard, asking their opinions of which ones they enjoyed. I finally settled on a plain one for the person I was with, and then for myself, I got the cinnamon sugar with condensed milk. I think it's the Jane-not positive. We were able to wait on their bench inside as we were the only customers at the time. I love a fresh churro and they did not disappoint. It was so perfectly crafted and every bite had enough of the toppings on it. Definitely a cute place to make a churro run.
i had great service. Btw I find the profiles that are restricted, a little sus like what are you hiding if you only review restaurants. This is mostly a grab and go, not much seating. It's a cute little place though. Prices are reasonable. Churro was warm and delish. Drinks were delectable. -Aunt rose churro 5/5 -Camila iced horchata 5/5 -Salma Mexican hot chocolate 5/5
My husband and I went to Churro Parlor looking for dessert. Churro Parlor is attached to a Mexican restaurant and doesn't have a lot of signage. You have to search to find it. But once you find it, you'll be glad you did. Every churro is made fresh to order. Because of this, expect to wait 10-15 minutes for your order. I got the chocolate churro. It was fresh and delicious, but I was hard and messy to eat. I recommend getting the churro bites for a neater easier experience. Open late until 10:00. I highly recommend Churro Parlor.
Definitely a cute spot to come visit on a date or even on a hot day like today here in Chicago! They have a good variety of options on their menu of just regular churros with toppings, to drinks, to ice cream sandwiches with churros. I ordered the Maradona Churro Which, takes about 10 minutes so if you'd like order ahead! Comes out fresh and hot. Dulce de leche ice cream is probably my new fave. Cinnamon flavor is there with the churro as well as the crunch! If your not so much of a sweet tooth and more of the "chill" not too crazy desserts then I wouldn't recommend this place for your because this sugar, on sugar, on sugar! Cute vibe and aesthetic I will be coming again!
Don't walk, RUN to Churro Parlor!!! Seriously I am so blown away by this place. I have never in my life had such a fresh, warm, cinnamony, perfect churro. The employees here are so sweet and will help you with anything. I got a churro-wich, which is gelato sandwiched between 2 churro buns. You can only imagine the heaven I experienced after my first bite. A mix of warm and cold, it was absolutely delicious. I got the Maradona which is dulce de leche gelato sandwiched between 2 cinnamon & sugar churros, drizzled with dulce de leche sauce. The place is super cute and small, so you'll most likely have to take your treat to-go. Eat your churro-wich fast because the ice cream does melt rather quickly due to the warm churros. Either way, 10/10 would highly recommend!
Okay so we went a bit ga-ga for churros when we came here. This place is SO delicious that we originally ordered two churros and then ordered some more to bring back our family ;0 Everyone was raving about the flavor. I don't think you can go wrong with what you choose - we tried: Jane Churro - most similar to what you expect a churro to be, EXCEPT, extra warm and delicious Berry White - this had fruity pebbles and some type of cream, omg definitely a fave Aunt Rose - Oreo and chocolate flavor, this was niece's fave Prudence - tastes similar to the original churro but with the added condensed milk/graham cracker, has a slightly sweeter/richer taste And for coffee lovers - we got the Camilia which is iced espresso and horchata. Just to note - it is very small and there is VERY limited seating (I wouldn't plan to dine in, it's more of a walk-up window with a bench/small table to wait for your oder). Basically what I'm saying is if you need a snack, want to impress your family, want some desserts for a party, this is the place.
Yumm! If you're having a sweet tooth craving & in the area, I'd highly recommend you stop by here. It's a little, small quaint shop that is also connected to a Mexican restaurant. I wasn't prepared on what to order when I arrived, so we had a little bit of a wait for our items, but it wasn't bad. I saw a lot of customers coming in and out that had pre orders, so it seems best to do that if you don't want to wait around. They churro sandwich are huge. The dough was crispy with a warm chewy center. The only thing was I wished they were able to offer churros that are filled vs just topped.
Cute little hole in the wall (almost literally). Can be hard to find because they don't have a big store name sign. It's directly left of El Tapatio. It's a busy little center but lots of movement with the cars so no parking issues. Inside is nice and cozy. They have a bench and table with two chairs inside and another half picnic table in front. Orders are made to order. I was told it would be about 10 minutes for my Churrowich. I went with the Abuela, which sounded amazing. She asked if I was gonna take it to go or not. You can get it to go apparently, deconstructed, to go. I was waiting for this treat so I got it ready to eat. They provide full plastic utensils. Didn't think anyone would need it at first but then I found out why you might use them. It was tricky to try and pick up to eat like a traditional ice cream sandwich. And my gelato was melting quickly between the warm churros. That might be the only thing they need to change. Let the churro cool a bit more before slathering on the gelato. I couldn't let any go to waste though so the spoon was perfect. The whole thing was so indulgent. Happy to say it tasted as amazing as it looked. Can't wait to come back and try the other flavors!

Stumbled upon this place randomly looking for a late night dessert. We were in the area searching and found this churro spot. It's actually a mexican restaurant with a cute small churro stand connected next to it. Absolutely love the theme and decor. It's super cute and the workers are always so sweet and welcoming. The churros are made fresh so you normally will wait 5-10 minutes but it did not feel like a long time at all. They do offer online pickup if you want to order ahead and skip the wait. We got the Jane and the Mau. Both were incredibly delicious. Having them freshly made makes all the difference. They have nailed their churro recipe. It has a satisfying crispy crunch then a soft dough on the inside. The taste is so good. It doesn't have that raw dough taste that some churro places may have. The topping and coating options are excellent and there's something for everyone. They even have ice cream and an option to have it as a churro ice cream sandwhich. This place has done a good job of keeping their menu simple while having options and even a few drinks like cafe con leche or mexican hot chocolate. These churros hit any time of day but especially at night after going out for dinner. I highly recommend them and I'd give extra stars if I could for the lovely ladies who work there for being so nice always. read more

My boyfriend and I love churros so we decided to stop by and try some fresh made ones. These churros are top notch. Hot from the fryer with whatever topping choice you choose. I do recommend to get extra dipping sauce. We tried the Abuela churrowich, the Aunt Rose, the Berry White and the Prudence! All were fantastic!! We also got the Horchata Espresso drink called the Camila. Excellent! Service was great too!! Everyone was very nice and helpful! read more

Best churros you'll find in town. Get it fresh in store or delivered. They are located to the left of the entrance of the mexican restaurant. So many different options to choose from. We tried almost all of the different flavors. You definitely cant go wrong no matter what you choose! The churros are the perfect crunch and chewiness. They also have dips, drinks, and ice cream sandwiches to try. Can't wait to be back again! read more

What makes a business 5-star worthy? When you can feel the passion and dedication from the business. Especially from the business owner. I had the pleasure of chatting with Joe, the owner, and he told me about his dream of selling authentic churros here in the States. He decided to turn that dream into a reality last year and was committed to being as hands-on as possible - both figuratively and literally. In September 2019, he traveled to Mexico to become a bonafide churrero. He got a crash course in the town of Zapopan from a street vendor (stationed outside a church) whose family has been in the churro business for 50 years. He apprenticed w/ the churrero and learned how to make churro dough from scratch and other techniques to get the perfect texture. He continues to make the dough from scratch every day. To ensure freshness and quality, he makes the dough in small batches. It hits the fryer after the customer places the order. Joe worked with his eldest child on the different flavors as well as the shop's aesthetic (can it be any more IG-worthy?), and it was nice to hear that kind of family collaboration. He hopes to open multiple locations and to replicate the concept in Chicago. With the glowing reviews the shop has received so far, it's hard not to imagine it being a runaway success in other parts of Chicagoland :) read more

Unbelievable gem of a local place....tucked right in an a easy to access strip mall. Extremely fresh, made to order gourmet churros-- so many options for toppings. I love the plain Jane and guava dip! For $20 (cost + tax), you can get a half dozen churros and dips. Such a good deal for this amazing treat! can't recommend it enough-- easy to order online and pick up. read more
A cute shop right in the entrance to Cafe El Tapitio. The concept is simple, walk up to the window and order yourself a churro or two! Aside from the standard flavor with cinnamon and sugar (the Jane) they have different ones to try as well. We ordered the Mau (dulce de leche and cinnamony toast crumbly) and the Prudence (condensed milk with graham cracker crumbs). They were similar yet different. The Prudence had a subtly flavor of sweetness with the condensed milk and the Mau had a little more sweetness with the dulce de leche topping, though neither were overly sweet as the chewiness and taste of the churro itself definitely took front stage. Crunchy on the outside from the nicely deep fried churro and warm and soft on the inside when you bite in. Nothing like the average churro you can get at those parking lot fairs. These churros are also decently sized as you could definitely share one between two adults and it is perfectly satisfying. Not only are there churros but they also have a drink menu. I ordered the Salma (mexican hot chocolate) because what's a churro without some hot chocolate to go along side it. If it hadn't been later at night I would have wished to try some of the other espresso drinks, those sounded good- like an horchata with espresso, intriguing. I will have to come back to try the other drinks. The churros are made to order so do expect to wait, I waited only about 10mins for my churros. They were definitely worth the wait. read more
Yes, I will drive for churros. It was quite a drive, but oh so worth it. Churro Parlor is owned by Cafe El Tapatio. It's located within the entrance of Cafe El Tapatio, and two really sweet gals were behind the pick up window ready to take my order. Veronica and Amanda (sorry can't remember names for sure) got to work and made me a Mexican hot chocolate and two Jane churros with cinnamon, sugar and spice. My kiddo ordered a churro wich--a stuffed churro with gelato and gummy bears. Everything is made fresh to order, so plan to wait about 10 minutes. It's not like the $8 churro stick you find at the auto show at McCormick Place (after this experience we won't do that again). The Mexican hot chocolate was incredible, and not too hot that you couldn't drink it right away. It was sweet, really chocolatey, and loaded with cinnamon flavor. I ordered a small, and that was a perfect size. On to the Jane churros. They have so many different dips you can choose from, but I'm a plain Jane and love a simple sugar and spice. For under $2 each, it was ginormous and delightfully doughy fresh. You want to eat them hot. I literally ate the entire churro in one sitting. I couldn't stop. OMG, why is Glenview so far away? As far as the churro which, I'm not sure how we would have actually eaten it, because we had them modify it. They put the gelato in a cup with gummy bears so my kid could eat that in the car. The plan was to eat the churro buns later. He loved the gelato, but was too full to be able to enjoy the churro buns :-( We tried to heat the churro buns up later, but it was a fail, and we ended up throwing them out. Note for the next time... be ready to eat the churro wich on the spot! Worth the trip...just go! Support this great local business. You won't be disappointed. read more
"There's a churro stand in Glenview." is what I heard my friends say. Then I started seeing pictures on Instagram. So of course I went to check it out! The Churro Parlor is connected to the main entrance of Tapatio, a Mexican restaurant. The space being used was the pick up window for to go orders. The two women helping me the night I was there are very friendly and patient. They took the time to explain the menu, and did not seem to mind that it took some time to figure out what we wanted. There is some space to have a seat by the window, I think four stools. The decorations and ambiance were all very thoughtful and cute. They didn't just open up a window, you could tell they were very intentional on how the space was created. And how about the churros! DELICIOUS! We ordered the parlor churros, there's 6 of them, but we ordered 4 - Aunt Rose, Mau, Hazelnut, Jane. There were only 2 of us, so we couldn't handle more. But I will be back for more. The churros are made to order and does take a few minutes. I saw some people coming in after preordering online - smart. I liked Hazelnut and Jane the best. The Aunt Rose and Mau were also good, but for me they were a little rich. The Hazelnut has a perfect amount of Nutella coating and sprinkles. The Jane (I think of it as "Plain Jane"), is the classic churro with the cinnamon dusting. Nothing plain about it! Perfectly sweet and crunchy. All the churros were crunchy and good! You could record an ASMR video. There are also other things on the menu such as drinks and ice cream sandwiches. I plan on coming back to try more of their menu. Please note: the churros are $2.49 each not $9.99. And a shout out to the genius(es)who created Churro Parlor. So unique! So delicious! I applaud you! Thank you! I look forward to many future trips here. read more

This is such a cute addition el Tapatio! It has its own little Section right when you walk in through the entrance of Tapatio and is a great option as both an after meal dessert or just a quick dessert run! It also has some seating which was great so that we could eat our churros right there while they were warm. They make them fresh and have lots of different flavors! We had the chocolate one named aunt..something? It was really good! We also had the cream cheese fruity pebble one which was also good but was more cream cheesy than fruity pebbles. I look forward to trying more out! read more
Had the pleasure of trying Churro Parlor for the first time the other day! I had the Party like it's 99 Churrowich which had ice cream and gummy bears on it. Honestly so delicious. The birthday cake ice cream was so creamy and good. My boyfriend got the Mau Churro. The wait time is about 15-20 minutes but every churro is made from scratch so your know you are getting a fresh churro everytime. I got mine to go and everything held up really well for the 20 minute drive home. read more

An extremely adorable little shop with amazing handmade churros! We ordered Berry White, Prudence, Mau, and Jane. You do have to wait 10-15 minutes because they make it for you right then and there. The shop opens at 4pm and the line begins to get long fast. Berry White was very sweet and I think it would be better for younger kids. Mau was sprinkled with cinnamon and had the perfect amount of sweetness - the crunch was irresistible! Jane was the classic churro. However, my uncontested favorite was Prudence. Prudence was drizzled with sweetened milk. With the crunch, the warmth, and the perfect amount of sweetness, Prudence kept me wanting to go back for more! read more

This little hidden gem made me smile! The staff were so friendly and welcoming, they laughed and made sure to check in on us before leaving. I tried the Joan Holloway which is the churro with guava compote and granola crush and I LOVED IT! My wife tried the Berry White, the Mau and the Oreo churro and she was pleased with all of them! There is off street parking and it's very easy to miss the place so keep your eyes on the prize. It is located right off of Milwaukee Ave. read more
We ordered Aunt Rose and Mau. Wow, these are so tasty. We were wondering why it was taking so long because we thought churros are always just ready and serve, but no, they make it fresh and the toppings are dripping delicious! I especially love the crunchy parts in the Mau. read more

Such a cool spot, walk in to see two ladies by the counter waiting to take your order with hip-hop and rap playing the background, there are counter seats where you can wait and its almost like a lobby before entering the Mexican restaurant. Ordered Aunt Rose and Plain Jane and had two of the mexican coffees. Its a bit hard to find because you don't realize it's actually inside the Mexican restaurant. Churros are made fresh to order and price is avg $2.50 each. Such a gem, I plan to order from here more often! Churros are made perfectly both crunchy and chewy inside. Can't wait to go back! read more
Made fresh! Who doesn't love fried dough? These churros are perfection! A beautiful crunchy exterior yet soft in the middle. Eat it with cinnamon & sugar like it's mostly sold or add more traditional toppings popular to such regions as Cuba, Peru, Spain, Columbia & Venezuela. It's all about texture and flavor for me and this churro has it all! It's the best churro I've ever eaten! So worth the 400 miles to try it. read more

Found this place on a whim when a friend and I were looking for something a little better than mall churros... so glad I did! Adorable decor, fantastic and personable staff, and super super fresh and fantastic food. They have a good menu variety, lots of options for churro flavors and even some nice coffee drinks to accompany them. Great vibe. Highly recommend. One thing. I found it a bit hard to find navigating via GPS. It's in a plaza with other businesses and shares a space with a restaurant. I just gave them a call and asked what their neighboring business was, they were super nice, no big deal. read more

took a drive out to try this place and thankfully there wasn't a line but still had to wait 20mins to get my order also staff was very rude and after i got my order which comes with ice cream the ice cream was already melted and not much ice cream was in it plus I requested it a different way and I didn't get that either..... wouldn't recommend this place not sure why people are hyping this place up I've had better tasting churros. Only thing that I actually liked was the Mexican ice cream. read more
Please visit this adorable churro parlor. Very sanitary, employees were wearing gloves and masks. Menu is sooo good - love the Mexican hot chocolate and all the churros I tried were delicious. The employees were so nice, too. We love the Mexican restaurant next store and order out from there often. Do yourself a favor and order from here, too, for dessert, the next time you place an order at El Tapatio. read more

Great churros!! Fresh and made to order. Personally I prefer the regular cinnamon and sugar but my husband and daughter like the flavor variety. Will be coming back for more. read more
I came here with my wife, brother and sister in law. My wife and I had the berry white and aunt rose churro, and we shared a camila to drink. All of it was very good. The churros were so good that I got the prudence churro before we left. It was good, it reminded me of funnel cake. The guava dip it cake with balanced it out. The staff is very friendly and service was smooth. read more

The churros are awesome! The little Hispanic older lady acts very fake stressed and is rather rude as a result. She told me and my boyfriend to stand next to the garbage can while we waited for our order to make room for a delivery driver (I.e. DoorDash) to pick up his order (he wasn't even a customer!). The other customers in the shop were nice also, just this one worker that killed the experience. This was our first time and I'm afraid our last!! read more
