Yassss! K-dogs!! Korean Corndogs!! Or is it Korean Ricedogs?? They're also called Korean Hotdogs. And fellow Canadians call them Korean Pogos, also Kogos. Whatever they're called, these ones at Chungchun are delicious!
So the first K-dog I ever had was at Drip House and it was a whopping $11.99 and quite frankly was not worth it in my opinion. I am happy to say that the K-dog I had at Chungchun Rice Dog was only $5.25 and tasted so much better!!
I got the half mozzarella hotdog and got ketchup and chipotle sauces (and I asked them to go easy on the chipotle). It was so delicious!! I shared it with my husband and after the first bite immediately regretted not getting us one each, lol.
The breading was crispy on the outside with panko crumbs and soft and chewy on the inside. The top half was gooey mozzarella cheese and the bottom half was hotdog. I was afraid that the chipotle would be too spicy, but it wasn't all that spicy, so I'll get the regular amount of chipotle next time. I'll also try some seasonings next time like maybe garlic butter or cheddar cheese, or both, lol. I also want to try the Tteok (Korean rice cake) one next time. Oh and maybe one with the little pieces of chopped up french fries coating it, lol. Um, actually, I want to try all of them, except the one with cheddar cheese filling because that looks like Cheez Whiz, of which I am not a fan.
I think this place is going to get a lot of my money, lol.
Service was courteous. The wait was satisfactory considering it was fairly busy.
It is co-located with a Gong Cha (bubble tea shop).
There are some tables along the wall to eat in, but it's food on a stick so super convenient to eat on the go or enjoy in your car, lol.
Lots of free parking in the College Square shopping plaza where the store is. It's near the Thai Express, Edo Japan and Bank of Montreal. read more
