two bowls of food on a table
    Julie L.

We had the fried chicken with pasta. It was really delicious and the portion was filling. I had to get take out for not finishing my meal. The service was friendly and the food came fast. However a few hours later it disagreed with my stomach and I spent the rest of the day & night with upset stomach. My stomach is normally strong and this doesn't happen unless something isn't right. I know it was the food because that's all I've eaten all day. I might go back but probably not for a while.

Nice spot for Korean food on Bank St. Got the spicy boneless chicken with the Alfredo linguini pasta. Good meal for $20 and comes with a side of radish.

Was at table sodam for a date , date was horrible food was excellent . Quickly getting into the pros and cons Pros 1. Authenticity : the presentation and menu selection looked pretty authentic although I may debate on the taste 2. Service was respectful and they made it a point to check frequently 3. Prices are reasonable for the spread Cons 1. Seating : pretty huddled up small space . Everyone will hear the uncomfortable questions your date asks you while munching on the ribs and they will also see how you are fuckimg alarmed that she just asked. 2. Parking : on the street , finders keepers My top choices in that order bulgogi , kimchee , cheese on corn ,bibimbap,

What a meal! The service was quick, the food was amazing, and the ambience was so nice. I've been wanting to come here for so long and finally did! I ordered the Gamjatang and my friend ordered the bulgogi. One of my favourite things about Korean cuisine is all the side dishes that come along with it, and I was so happy to get some today! The food came out very quick and oh my days it was so good. As you can see, the portions are quite large and they do not skimp on the meat! I would recommend coming here 1000 times.

more of a 3.5 I think the chicken sauce was really great. that sweet and soy flavor combo was incredible and was very much enjoyed. the chicken was really well fried and tasted great, but I think some of the cuts of meat could have been slightly better quality. the pasta was quite good flavor wise but the sauce was too thin. the salad was really good!! I ordered takeout but when I went to pick it up the restaurant was quite busy and all the tables were full so definitely make a reservation if you plan on going. Service was really kind and great as well.

I came back here when I had a late night pork bone soup craving. I'm not sure if It was just an off day but the soup was not as flavourful as I remember and some pieces of the pork were a little tough and could use a bit more cooking time to make them more tender. I also noticed the menu has been expanded to include some spicy fried chicken. My friend had it and I had a little bit - it was pretty damn good! They put up some pretty lights in the window and I just noticed this time how cute the interior of the restaurant is. Love the decor.

Pork ribs and sweet & spicy chicken with corn cheese are my recommendations. Kimchi fried rice was so so. Definitely worth a trip.

If you are craving Korean, look no further. Table Sodam has got all your epic needs. Just ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. The flavour. Featured today was Cheese Dak Gang Jung - Boneless Chicken with Signature Sweet & Spicy or Sweet Soy Sauce and Cheese, Kimchi Fried Rice and Seafood Jjampong - Assorted Seafood (Mussel, Calamari, Shrimp and Crab Meat) Stew with Vegetable and Steamed Rice . All I can say is we need to come back cause it was just that good

    Shitty restaurant

I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. The service was terrible, and the host and staff were extremely unprofessional. They made you wait in the cold for an hour, despite promising a wait time of only 15 minutes. To make matters worse, they continually gave tables to other people who had just arrived, leaving you in the cold and without a table. The host's smug attitude and suggestion to go eat somewhere else was extremely rude and unwarranted. It's clear that the staff at this restaurant are on a power trip and do not care about their customers' experiences. They also do not properly communicate wait times and fail to set expectation for customers... To the restaurant staff reading this, im sure you will delete this comment, but then again I would not be surprised. Their general dismissive attitude displayed at this restaurant proves to be the case also they need better problem solving skills. They could have put two tables together on MULTIPLE occasions and chose not to... Your job is to properly seat people at the tables, how hard can it be? Do your job adequately please.

Fried Chicken with Alfredo Pasta and Tteokbokki

Went in on a weekend evening and it was packed! Unfortunately it took us over an hour to get our food since it looked like they were short staffed (?) as this may have been due to being a holiday week night and the waiters incorrectly managed the online delivery orders. Despite that, the tteokbokki and fried chicken tasted great and portion sizes were large. Waiter was clearly stressed out but did his best to maintain a positive attitude given the situation!

Really nice spot for Korean food. Casual restaurant with comfortable seating. Portions were big, and I left feeling full. The service was also very friendly. Would recommend, and I would come back.

So we were craving Korean food in Ottawa, we ended up going to Table Sodam, I honestly first thought that it was over priced, however it comes with a lot of stuff, and the main food has a big portion! It was delicious, also so tasty! i took the seafood soup for 21$ And my boyfriend had the boneless chicken with spicy sauce OH MY GOD their chicken is one of the best!!! Plus my waiter was really nice, the only thing i did not like was the TEA, it had a really weird taste of javel or something like that!

It was our first-time trying it because the original restaurant we wanted to go to on Somerset was closed, but we were definitely not let down. They open at 11:30 on the weekend and we were a bit early but the staff was super friendly and accommodating- letting us sit down, browse the menu and even place our order before they "officially" opened. Out of all the dine-in korean restaurants we've tried so far in Ottawa (which I know is quite limited and most aren't authentic- but that's not to say they aren't good): Alirang, Maht, Daldongnae, etc. This is definitely top tier AND we will be coming back. As a small business, they are generous with their refillable complimentary side dishes (which is so yum), the flavour HITS, and the service is so good and welcoming. They kept checking in with us, turned down the volume to the TV that we were sitting under, and kept refilling our tea. inside the restaurant is also quite spacious and has comfortable seating arrangements. The restaurant is clean and tidy, which made the experience even more pleasant. Service was attentive, though with only a few tables it's hard to fully judge. Still, everything we needed was taken care of. The food was fresh, portions were generous, and prices felt fair. I especially appreciated that their pancake wasn't overly oily like you often find elsewhere. Dishes leaned on the milder side which made it easy to enjoy everything. The kimchi was a little salty, but the pickled radish was a nice balance. Big plus: they serve Asahi draft, which you don't see everywhere. One small miss was the sundubu being accidentally left off our order, but no big deal, just an excuse to come back and try it next time along with the Kalbi. Seating was comfortable, and I loved the individual wireless table lamps at each table which added a nice touch. The tteokbokki or rice cakes were good. The texture was perfectly chewy and the sauce was spicy and sweet. However, for the price, I found the portion to be a bit stingy. The bowl looks large but there isn't much in it, and considering rice cakes aren't that expensive I'm surprised they gave so little. The chicken drumsticks were tasty, but a tad dry. Not sure if it's because they slit it open at various places to let it cook faster. It didn't have the same type of coating as other Korean fried chicken I tried either. Overall, service is attentive and food is good. However, I think I have other places that I prefer for Korean fried chicken in Ottawa.

Ordered an Asahi Super Dry and an order of Beoseot Bulgogi. The beer was super cold, and the Bulgogi came sizzling hot (with a cup of rice and three side bowls) side bowls were toasted sesame flavoured bean sprouts, sweet sauce on turnip, and kimchi). The Bulgogi was not as flavourful as I've had at other establishments. But otherwise it enjoyed. Servers are not very personable. No greeting, just ask how many, seat me in a booth with menu and a slip of paper to write my choice on. 20 minutes later had to wave at them to comeback to take the slip. Btw, at the Merrivale location don't take the first booth, the door is inches behind your bench and everytime the door opens you are blasted with cold air. One other interesting thing to note. My bill didn't seem to be correct. I noticed it was a little higher than I expected, but I tipped 20% and left. I was only given the transaction record. The bulgogi on their menu is $15.95 (as per website), I am pretty sure the beer was $7.95. That totals $23.90. But my bill was $34.92 before tip. $41.90 after tip. So, something happened. But I guess it's my fault for not bringing it up while there.

The side dishes were also quite good! My mandu were slightly burnt/over fried but the delicious and unique filling paired with the good sauce provided made it fine. My only issue is that when I try and return, craving their hearty kimchi stew on a cold day, their hours don't match what's posted online or on the paper outside their restaurant? For example, there's a paper sign on the door that says they take a break from x-3pm , on a day I was reallly looking forward to the comforting stew and warm vibes. I check at 3pm and their OPEN sign is off, alright maybe they need a minute or 2, so I do some rounds and pass by it a few times with it still being closed, I go back home and come back around 4:30 which is well past their reopening time and it's still closed. I gave up cause I was starving and went elsewhere. If this could be updated or made more clear then this review would be much higher. I love the food and it's genuinely authentic Korean food but it's frustrating having plans to go for lunch or even an early dinner and having them squashed by an inconsistent hours schedule.
