I was introduced to Chukar cherries by my sister in law. I live in California so I order items for gifts online. I splurged and ordered the caramel corn for home and the product is not as depicted and not very tasty. I contacted customer service and they said that is what it is like. The cherries are cemented into the caramel corn and you barely get any cherry taste through the caramel and pecan. If you do get a cherry it is so cooked into the sugar that it sticks to your teeth. Not very enjoyable. I highly recommend their other products but skip the caramel corn. read more

Another fine Washington product. When my husband and I lived in Washington we found a lot of foods that we consider among the best. The kind of foods that are good for gift giving and worth paying shipping on to enjoy yourself. This location was our first introduction to Chukar Cherries. They offer samples of everything they sell so you can taste before you buy. Warning, if you taste it then you will buy it. My favorite product is the Milk Chocolate Cherry Bings. The cherries are so pure and the chocolate is perfect. Chukar Cherries also offers flavored nuts, granolas, sauces, and preserves among other things. Everything I've ever tasted here has been heavenly. This is why we return time and time again. As with any specialty food the cost can be on the pricey side, but the quality of the product is well worth the cost. read more

Recently, we were in Seattle and heard somebody randomly reference Chukar cherries and how they loved these delicious little treats that were made at Pike Place. It made me and my wife beam With a bit of pride knowing that these are in Eastern Washington delicacy! Having originated in Prosser, these guys have elevated an already delicious fruit, and made it something that it's hard for anybody to say no to! If you're not familiar with their products, these guys specialize in chocolate covered cherries. When you think that, most people think of cordial cherries...cheap imposters! Chukkar cherries are the heavenly offspring of multiple different types of chocolates and the beautiful fruit that so delicately hangs from cherry trees in the Yakima Valley, gracing the very air that they occupy. If you've ever been around cherry trees on a sunny day, there's probably nothing that reminds you more of the beautiful things on this earth. How do you possibly make something so regal even better? You put some boss chocolate on it! That's exactly what they've done here, and it is as good as it gets. They have half a dozen main flavors, and rotate through a number of others. Milk chocolate, dark chocolate, amaretto, white chocolate....the world is your sugary oyster! The folks here are experts at letting you try things, and even if you don't buy, so make sure you know that they are happy that you are there! We have found that these make incredible gifts for folks that are familiar With the Northwest, chocolate, fruit or just happiness in general. Seriously, you can't go wrong with these and you deserve to treat yo'self! If you're at the market, in Prosser or see them at a store, you should definitely try them out! read more

Absolutely loved all the samples they let us try and have to say my two absolute favorites were the cabernet cherries and the honey pecans. Love that it is a female owned and operated business and loved seeing their product in other local souvenir shops! Great service, great product, amazing quality, wish they were available nationwide! These are great for gifts or just to buy yourself a treat. The stand is located at Pike Place in the middle of the building that has the huge "Public Market" sign. They sell chocolate covered cherries/pecans, dried cherries, and granola. They are very liberal with samples, so you can try everything before you decide what to buy. I bought for myself a bag of the Honey Pecans and Cherries for Wine (a mix of Classic Dark, Cabernet Cherries, and Ultra Dark cherries). I also bought 3 other bags as gifts. My favorite was the chocolate covered honey pecans. They have a delicious thick coating of chocolate and are extremely addicting. The cherries are also delicious and do not have the artificial cherry taste that some chocolate covered cherries may have. You can get the Cherries for Wine if you can't decide which one you want. Each bag is $10, but I think it's well worth the price. I wish I bought more actually. If you miss out on getting a bag of Chukar Cherries at Pike Place, you can also find them at the Seattle-Tacoma airport. read more

Gets super packed on weekends - well, you're at the Pike Place Market **the destination of all tourist visiting the Seattle area**, you must endure the crowd. This stall is kinda situated in the middle of the market, easy to spot them. People who work there are super friendly & helpful. Get to taste your products before purchasing so that's very good. If you have foodie friends to gift (I always prefer giving edibles than just a souvenir), I suggest the local grown Washington rainier cheery (dried or candied/chocolate covered). The chipotle chocolate covered one was my hub's fav. Got the dried rainier cherry for salads & baking. 4 pack gift box in my opinion is the best bang for your buck - also takes care of those 4 foodie friends back at home~ Check them out for some sweet treats to take back home! read more

I've been to Pike's Peak Market several times and have always just walked pass this stand. I've tried the "Harry and David" chocolate covered fruits and thought they were just "meh." I didn't see how Chukar's was any different. Boy! Was I wrong! A co-worker had a "honey do list" which included buying his wife some chocolate covered cherries from Chukar. I went along as we were going to grab lunch nearby before having to walk back to work. The staff at Chukar are all very friendly and pleasant. Samples galore and they explain how each one is different. There was a truffle chocolate covered cherry which I found very rich and too sweet for my liking. I sampled a few different ones and found my favorite which was the Cabernet covered cherries. I ended up buying 3 bags of Cabernet covered chocolate cherries and a bag of tart cherries as gifts to bring back home. The Cabernet wasn't overwhelming in a wine sense, but gave it more of a fruit forward flavor that balanced nicely with the chocolate. I think if I had more time I would definitely check out their other chocolate covered fruit and nuts. This is a great spot to buy something unique from Washington to bring back for your friends and family! read more

I don't know about you but chocolate covered anything is my thing. I love chocolate and at Chukar Cherries, they have these amazing chocolate covered cherries. Of course, they give samples. The staff is amazing. They look like they genuinely want to be there. There's always a crowd and they are busy because of the quality of their product. I tried a few treats and bought a small bag. So if you need a gift for friends, souvenirs from Seattle, or just to satisfy your sweet tooth, check out Chukar Cherries at Pike Place Market when you're in the area. read more

I passed by this booth in Pike Market on my first visit to the Market, thinking it was a tourist trap shilling subpar products. On my last day in Seattle I was lured in by a friendly salesgirl that told me the whole Chukar story, while she remained oblivious to a string of tourists getting a picture in the booth behind her. Friendly and informative service, free samples, and the dark chocolate covered cherries were a hit to bring back home! My family loved the Pike Place Market packaging and we all loved the cherries. I look forward to perusing their website and/or catalog for more Seattley gifts! read more

This inviting little food stand was rocking some delectable dark chocolate covered cherries that I had to try. After a few delicious samples I elected to go for the dark chocolate-covered wine cherries. After cracking open this bag and munching down on them with some fresh fruit they are the perfect pick nick companion. Prices are 10 bucks and change for one bag or 20 bucks for two bags. Chukar Cherries specializes in air drying 3 particular types of cherries - Bing, Rainier, and Tart. They then sell them in infinite combinations or as confectioneries (dipped in chocolate, rolled in raspberry powder, etc) which makes for delicious snacks or perfect sized gifts. My favorite was a toss up between the trio blend with pistachios or cherry bings (bing cherries dipped in cherry infused milk chocolate). But I did end up buying a variety of others as gifts - Cabernet cherries, nuts and bing mix, truffle cherries...to name a few. They also have combinations of other dried fruits and nuts, but when at Chukar Cherries, you need to leave with something cherry...afterall, they are all harvested from the largest cherry plantation in Washington! Local and delicious? Yes please! read more

So here's my thing, I hate candied cherries, the cherries they put on top of sundaes, cherry flavored candy...and of course, cherry flavored cough syrup. Yuck yuck yuck. So when I saw this little storefront in the Pike Place Market I almost just passed right by seeing that they sell cherries...yucky yucky. But then, I thought since it's a famous company in Seattle and all...maybe they do things differently. Oh that and my eyes spotted the free samples...so why not and see if things are different? They don't really candy cherries and make them super sugary, they simply candy them in a way that makes them last longer and then encase it in chocolate. Dried cherry basically. They have a few samples that they list on the chalkboard that they readily dispense to happy tourists, I tried the cabernet dark chocolate covered cherry...and I loved it! Sure there was more chocolate than cherry, but the cherry itself was like sweetened more condensed version of the real fruit. The cherry wasn't overwhelmed at all but came through pretty clearly anyways. Not so candied that it changes the entire cherry to become something else, it kept the essence of it! Amazing!!! Okay, I change my stance on candied cherries...Chukar Cherry Company congratulations, you've swiftly and effectively changed my mind. I also spotted a bag of chipotle dark chocolate covered cherries...that weren't on the sample list, but when I asked how those were the guy behind the counter got some out and let my mom and I try it. Wasn't a super big fan of it, but very interesting. You don't taste much of the chipotle until after you eat it, where's it's slightly smoky and spicy. I wanted it to be spicier while eating it though. The girl and the guy working were pretty awesome! Sorry, I never got their names but I will upload the pic I took soon. Both really nice and helpful and knew their products. The girl really loved the chipotle cherry and was just raving about it. Both of them noticed me pulling out my camera (asian tourist warning!!!!) and posed for it. Haha though I didn't intend for them too haha. But whatever. So thanks for the awesome service. So I ended up with a bag of the cabernet dark choco cherries (9.50 about) and then a box of choco covered cherries assortment and a box of choco covered nuts (mom's pick). The boxes alone were 12.50 I think, but 2 for 20. So yeah bit pricier, but hey I'm a new cherry candy convert and it's Pike Place Market, super crazy tourist spot and it's Washington gourmet candy that I won't buy all the time. On a regular basis, pricier than I would usually like though. Today I was in tourist mentality so oh well. read more

I never thought there were so many ways to eat cherries! Chukar has opened my mind to the myriad of ways you can make use of this delectable fruit... my my my... Everything here is 100% natural, gluten free, and kosher certified! My favorite sweet treat here was the cherry chocolate covered cherries. It's basically a chewy dried cherry dipped in milk chocolate (laced with cherry flavoring). Their cherry salsa was also something I've never had before... a little sweet a little spicy, does it get any better than that? You can go to their website and have their goodies shipped to anywhere. That's exactly what I plan to do the next time I have trouble thinking of a gift to give. read more

I had one day in Seattle and explored the Pike Place market. I spent the afternoon eating my way through and Chukar Cherries was on my list. One sample of their Cabernet cherries and I was hooked, I loved the wide assortment of flavors and packaging they offered. The staff was really friendly and happy to answer any questions that I had... I left with several of their classic assortment boxes ($14.95) which we all devoured during the rest of our vacation. This assortment included their most popular dried cherries - dark chocolate Cabernet cherries, dark chocolate black forest cherries and milk chocolate cherry bings! Yummmm! I can't wait to shop there on line store for holiday gifts. read more

Thank goodness for Savor Seatlle Food Tour or I would never have thought to stop here even for free samples (because: cherries = healthy = no attraction for me). Chukar Cherries was one of the food sampling stops during our Pike Place Market walking food tour and after they gave us several samples, I was HOOKED! We usually buy local/regional food items for souvenirs so we bought several cherry treats as souvenir giveaways to friends and family. Two days after being home and after depleting our supply of cherry goodness, I just had to buy more and had them shipped! Nicole, who was our Chukar hostess during the tour, is so knowledgeable of their products and just cherries altogether. Savor Seattle's food tour offered 10% off at all of the restaurants/merchants we visited and Nicole was kind enough to give us the discount even when I ordered over the phone. My favorite choc covered cherries are the dark choco cabernet, milk choco truffle and my absolute most favorite of all are the cherry blossoms (with milk & white choco). They even have "no sugar" choco covered treats which are perfect for mom who's diabetic. Hubby loved the Totally Tart dried cherries and we both adore the peach cherry salsa! It's great with chips and we can't wait to serve it with grilled fish. I wish they weren't so pricey but I think they're so worth it! Btw, a non-cherry treat but also very yummy is their honey pecan candy... you must try it! read more

My 100th review I had to save for my absolute FAVORITE! I originally picked up a bag of these delicious chocolate covered cherries from the sunrise gift shop in Mt Rainer national park while on a camping trip. I had no clue I'd be hooked after that purchase. These are the BEST to send as gifts to friends and family. I love their stall in Pike Place Market, always fun to take anyone that visits us down to the market and get some goodies to take back home. Gives them a chance to explore the heart of Seattle. These are the best chocolate covered cherries you will ever eat in your life, using local/fresh ingredients and no dyes of any sort. Made right here in Washington state, It's a must! I now have my entire family addicted to Chukar Cherries. Enjoy! read more

These make perfect souvenir gifts to bring back for family and friends if you're visiting Seattle. They're not cheap though, $9.50 a bag. $36 if you buy four. Yummmmmmmmm Located inside Pikes is CC. Don't be shy to ask for samples. Actually they welcome it. I actually passed thru twice and couldn't get enough. Lots of variety. $9.50 for a small bag is a little steep; however, this didn't stop my friend from buying 2 bags. read more

Love this place! So yummy! My boyfriend and I discovered this place through one of the AirBnB's Chef Tours and man did they show us a great spot! I really liked the Amaretto Rainiers. Lastly, if you order a few bags you'll get like $1 off, which is great because we purchased like 3 bags. read more

When you think of chocolate covered cherries, you usually think of the maraschino cherries. These are totally different. They are a variety of dried cherries (Bing, Rainier, etc.) covered in milk/dark chocolate. The ladies behind the counter were very helpful and are glad to let you try anything they have for sale. That's how they get you though, because these chocolate covered cherries are delicious. My favorite was the Black Forest Cherries and my wife's was the Chocolate Honey Pecan (which isn't a cherry, but it's amazing). Actually you probably shouldn't try the Chocolate Honey Pecan, it's too addicting. We ended up buying 3 bags =X. Check this place out if you are at Pike Place Market! read more

Heaven on earth in a booth in a market, who would've known? I was (like many others) touring the Pike Market to find some young kids boasting about cherries and nuts, so I had to stop. I tried a bunch of different nuts/cherries/chocolate items before deciding on the Honey Pecans and the Milk Amaretto Chocolate cherries. The bags are decent in size, but are around $9-10 a bag (a bit pricey in my opinion). I would definitely come here to try some local produce, as the products I bought were amazing! read more

Good cherries. Really good honey pecans. Poor service. Really expensive. $10 for a bag of variety chocolate cherries. Too pricey in my opinion. Usually I'm not a big fan of cherries being turned into any sort of candy, whether it's coated with sugar or covered with chocolate. They just don't appeal to me, but Chukar has changed the game for me! Honestly, I walked by it two-three before I finally stopped to check it out only because they were giving out free samples and I heard "Cabernet chocolate covered cherries." Wine + chocolate is enough to pique my interest hahah. Turns out they had a about 7-8 kinds for sampling. Who doesn't like free samples haha. I tried the Cabernet chocolate cherries and man... I was hooked. I tried all of them and the one that I liked the most was the "bittersweet chocolate cherries." The cherries itself is sweet but the bittersweet coco balances it really well. My friends and I liked them so much that we decided to buy a box with about 5-6 kinds of chocolate covered cherries. We even got a discount for buying multiple boxes so definitely ask them for a discount if you are buying them as gifts or for yourself! read more

These people sure do know how to dry a cherry - and coat it in chocolate. That's just darn right dangerous as I frequent that mall. read more

My dad is a huge fan of chocolate covered cherries, so when I was visiting Seattle, I knew I HAD to stop here to get him some as a souvenir. As others have mentioned, this place is located in the Pike Place Market. If you arrive early enough on a weekday, you won't experience much of a line. That was my experience, at least. The folks here were so friendly and let me try whatever I wanted. I tried multiple cherries and varieties before settling. I went with the deal in which I bought 4 bags and received a discount. I purchased multiple bags of the milk chocolate bing cherries, as well as the honey pecans (chocolate covered). My dad LOVES these cherries and swears they are the best he has ever had... and I have to agree. Even though they are dried cherries, they somehow were able to maintain that juiciness that we all know and love about cherries. These are DIVINE. They make awesome gifts- everyone in my family was excited about them and loved them. Side note- you can order them online as well! read more

How could you not fall in love with these perfect chocolate covered dried cherries. Washington Bing, Rainier, Cherries, no less. You may think, a WA cherry is like any cherry. It isn't. Pop one in your mouth and you will find yourself needing MORE and MORE. Addiction maybe. Chukar's is family-owned. They don't offer just choc covered cherries but even dried ones without added sugar, jams, and even sauces. But, first taste must be the choc covered cherries. The truffle ones are my favorite. Milk choc dusted with sweet cocoa. Want wine + choc in one bite? Try the pinot noir or cab. Family owned, family family, and tasty. This is a must taste stop at Pike Market. Chukar Cherries is a long-standing PNW business. Its a tasty gift to bring back to commemorate your trip (or ship to your friends out of state, if you are local.) They make a great gift box with a nice graphic of either the Pike Market, or their trademark Chukar partridge, which we've been known to send on occasion to family and friends out of state. My favorite tastes include the Cab Cherries (which have some a spicy flavor), Cocoa Pecans, & Honey Pecans. They grown their fruit in state, near Walla Walla and its nice to support local businesses. At Chukars, they are generous on free tastes, so you could potentially try everything they are sampling that day to find your perfect bite, if the crowd at Pike Market is not too hectic.
